Operating Instructions
This appliance is intended for household use only. Use on Alternating current (60Hz) only. Standard appliances
are designed to operate at rated voltage. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).
As safety feature, this plug will fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet,
reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
Caution
Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled or twisted. Never wrap the cord around the unit. Damage will
occur at the high flex point of entry into the unit, causing it to rupture and short circuit. Inspect the cord frequently for
damage. Stop use immediately if damage is visible or if unit stops or operates intermittently.
Storage
When not in use your appliance is easy to store. Allow unit to cool, then simply put back in the box and store out of
reach of children in a safe, dry location. Do not pull or strain cord at plug connections.
ALCI
This unit is provided with an Appliance Leakage Current Interrupter (ALCI), a protective device that may make it
inoperable under some abnormal conditions, such as immersion in water.
To test the ALCI is functioning properly, perform the following test.
1. With the hair dryer switch in the OFF setting, plug in the appliance and turn ON.
2. Press the yellow TEST button and the hair dryer will stop working. There will be a clicking sound.
3. Switch to the OFF setting and unplug.
4. Press the red RESET button on the ALCI plug. There will be another clicking sound.
5. Plug in hair dryer and turn ON. The hair dryer should operate in a normal manner.
6. If ALCI is not functioning properly, call the customer service number.
7. If the appliance is immersed in water, unplug it immediately.
Do not attempt to reset the ALCI safety switch. Please call the customer service number.
8. Repeat the above procedure each time the appliance is used to confirm ALCI is operational.
Should the reset button pops off during use, this could indicate a malfunction in the unit.
Unplug from outlet and allow the appliance to cool for 30 minutes. Plug the appliance back
into the outlet and press the red RESET button. The appliance should then function normally.
If not, please contact our customer service for further assistance.

IF YOU MUST USE YOUR HAIR DRYER IN
THE BATHROOM, INSTALL A GFCI* NOW!
Your local electrician can help you
decide which type is best for you —
a portable unit that plugs into the
electrical outlet or a permanent unit
installed by your electrician. The National
Electrical Code now requires GFCI’s in
bathrooms, garages, & outdoor outlets
of all new homes.
WHY DO YOU NEED A GFCI? Electricity
and water don’t mix. If your
hair dryer falls into water
while it’s plugged in, the
electric shock can kill you...
even if the switch is “off.”
A regular fuse or circuit breaker won’t
protect you under these circumstances.
A GFCI offers you far greater protection.
A GFCI can save your life! Compared
to that, the price is small! Don’t wait ...
install one now!
*GFCI is a sensitive device which reacts
immediately to a small electric current leak
by stopping the electricity flow.
