Safety instructions
•Depressurize the system before carrying out any work on the piping.
•Installation and maintenance work may only be carried out when the device is not under
pressure.
•Installation and maintenance work may only be carried out by trained and experienced
staff.
•Do not exceed max. operating pressure or operating temperature range (see data label).
•Do not use the device in hazardous areas with potentially explosive atmospheres.
•Use original spare parts only.
•Use the device for the appropriate purpose only.
AOK 13PA condensate drain is intended exclusively for use in draining
condensate from compressed air system (air compressors, air receivers, air
dryers and filters).
Any others form of use or one going beyond this shall be considered as
inappropriate. We shall have no liability whatsoever for any damage incurred
as result.

Operating
Drain can be installed bellow pressure vessel, filter element, dryer, cyclone separator or
similar pressure equipment. Through G ½” connection on the top condensate accumulates in
the drain reservoir. Increasing condensate level rises the floater. When the condensate level
is high enough the floater unblocks the discharge orifice and the condensate is purged out
through G ½” output connection. When condensate level drops floater drops with it and
blocks the discharge orifice. This operation prevents air loss.
By tightening the test lever, we lift the float manually and simulate the operation of the
drain.

Installation
AOK 13PA has two possible inlet connections (horizontal and vertical). Based on the amount
of space under the pressure equipment choose one of the options to connect the drain.
Connection from the top (vertical inlet connection)
Connect drain on the vertical inlet connection and plug the
horizontal second connection. When used this way it is
recommended to used appropriate nipple to assure a
constant flow of a condensate to a reservoir of the drain.
Recommended use of nipple
Nipple prevents creation of air bubbles which
blocks the path for condensate to flow in the
reservoir. Air trapped in the reservoir of a
drain can pass back to a pressure equipment
through intended pipe in the nipple allowing
condensate to flow in.

Connection from the side (horizontal inlet connection)
Use vertical connection to mount venting line back to
pressure equipment (e.g. pressure vessel). Venting line
prevents creation of air bubbles assuring constant flow
of condensate to the drain.
When no venting line is used. A drainage pipe must
be inclined towards the condensate drain so the air
can escape from the pipe and drain.
In case no venting line is used, please
make sure that unused inlet
connections are sealed properly!
Installation should only be done as described in the section “Installation”.
Any other form of installation beyond this shall be considered inappropriate.
We shall have no liability whatsoever for any damage incurred as a result.
It is strongly recommended that waste condensate from discharge port is connected to
water treatment application, such as water oil separator to protect the environment from
pollution and to comply with environmental laws.
Installation procedure
1. Assure there is no pressure in the system
2. Visually check the drain that there is no damage that would impact drains operation
3. Choose appropriate way of installation (horizontal or vertical inlet)
4. Assure that drainage line is without any impurities that would clog the drain
5. Mount the drain to a pressure equipment
6. Slowly pressurize the system
RECCOMENDATIONS
•We recommend the use of ball valve between pressure vessel and inlet connection.
•We recommend the use of strainer element between pressure vessel and inlet
connection. Regularly check and clean strainer to prevent clog of condensate line.
•We recommend the use of nipple with venting tube to avoid generation of air bubbles.
Nipple is screwed in inlet connection and is optional equipment.

Maintenance
WEEKLY
Turn the test knob clockwise (screw carefully) and let the condensate flow out until the
compressed air will blow through for few seconds. If a significant amount of water (more
than 0.5 litres) exits the valve then the drain must be thoroughly cleaned. When the test
knob is turned all the way back (counter clockwise) the valve should close and there should
be no more air leakage.
YEARLY
Dismantle the drain and clean all components. Do not use solvents to clean rubber
components.
Service
It is recommended to clean reservoir at least once a year.
It is also recommended to change sealings. Sealing elements are subject to wear, which
depends on various operating parameters such as pressure, temperature, dirt content, etc.
Attention!
Prior maintenance depressurize the unit.
Spare parts
Replacement sealings are available on demand. Please contact your distributor or
manufacturer.

Warranty exclusion
The guarantee shall be void if:
•The installation and operating manual was not followed with respect to installation,
initial commissioning and maintenance.
•The unit was not operated properly and appropriately.
•The unit was operated when it was clearly defective.
•Non-original spare parts or replacement parts were used.
•The unit was not operated within the permissible technical parameters.
•Unauthorized constructional changes were made to the unit or if the unit has been
opened/disassembled by an unauthorized person.
