Package Contents
Set up USB Datalogger Interface
IMPORTANT: Do not connect the OM-CP-IFC200 to
your PC until instructed to do so or the setup will not
work.
A Insert the OM-CP Data Logging
Software CD-ROM into your CD-
ROM drive. The CD should run
automatically, and the CD
Contents screen should appear. If
it does not, click the Start button
and choose Run. In the field that
appears, enter D:\autorun.exe
(If “D” is the letter of your CD-
ROM drive).
B Click on the Install Omega
2.00.63 or later link on the CD
Contents screen to start the install
of the Data Recorder Software. A
new window will appear. Follow
the on screen prompts to complete
the software installation. See the
Software Manual or visit us online
at www.omega.com additional
information.
C To install the OM-CP-IFC200, click
the Install USB Interface
Drivers link on the CD Contents
screen. A new window will appear
prompting for a directory and to
start the installation.
If you choose to change the
directory where the drivers will be
stored, do so here by clicking
Browse. When the directory is
set to the correct location, click the
Install button to start the
installation.
D When using Windows XP, a screen
may appear indicating the software
has not passed Windows®Logo
Testing. This software has been
tested and works properly with
Windows XP. Click the Continue

Anyway button to resume with the
installation. When finished, a
message will display indicating that
the installation was successful.
All the necessary drivers for the
OM-CP-IFC200 to work correctly
should now be pre-installed onto
your PC. Click the OK button to
close the Pre-Installer window. In
the CD Contents window, click the
Exit CD Browser link to exit the
autorun program.

A Remove the warning label to
expose the USB connector.
Connect one end of the
included USB cable to the USB
port of the OM-CP-IFC200.
For Windows XP

A Remove the warning label to
expose the USB connector.
Connect one end of the included
USB cable to the USB port of
the OM-CP-IFC200.
B Connect the other end to a USB
port on your PC. When the
OM-CP-IFC200 is plugged in,
the Found New Hardware
window will display. Windows
2000 will automatically install
the proper software drivers for
the OM-CP-IFC200 as long as
step one was completed.
Allow the PC to complete the
installation. Once finished, the
Found New Hardware window
will disappear and the blue
Power LED on the OM-CP-
IFC200 will light up. Once this
occurs, you can skip ahead to
step three, Test USB Datalogger

B Connect the other end to a USB
port on your PC. When the OM-
CP-IFC200 is plugged in, the
Found New Hardware Wizard
will pop up. Select the No, not
this time option to not allow
Windows to connect to Windows
Update. Click the Next button to
continue.
C When prompted for the installation
CD, select the Install the
software automatically option.
Click the Next button to continue.
NOTE: the CD is not necessary for
this step to complete.
D When using Windows XP, a screen
may appear indicating, the
software has not passed
Windows®Logo testing. This
software has been tested and
works properly with Windows XP.
Click the Continue Anyway
button to complete the installation.
E When the installation is complete,
the Found New Hardware
Wizard will reappear stating that
it has finished installing the
software for the USB Datalogger
Interface. Click the Finish button
to exit the Wizard.
Congratulations! The installation of
the OM-CP-IFC200 USB Datalogger
Interface is complete!
B The blue power LED indicator light
on the OM-CP-IFC200 should be
on. If the blue LED indicator light
is NOT on, unplug the USB cable
from the OM-CP-IFC200. Wait 5
seconds, then plug the USB cable
into the OM-CP-IFC200.
C Start the OM-CP Data Logging
Software.
If necessary, see the software
manual for additional information
on the software.
D From the Communication menu
on the toolbar choose Select
Comm Port from the drop down
list.
A sub-menu will appear listing the
software available communication
ports. If the OM-CP-IFC200
installation was successful and the
device is plugged into the
computer, the menu option of
USB1 should appear. If multiple
OM-CP-IFC200 devices are
plugged into the same PC, they
will all be listed in this menu as
USB1, USB2, USB3, ... etc. Use
this menu to select the proper
device.
E As with a standard COM port the
OM-CP-IFC200 must be
configured to communicate at the
proper baud rate. The OM-CP-
IFC200 can be configured to work
with most OM-CP Dataloggers by
selecting the proper baud rate in
the software. The baud rate will
be dependent on the baud rate of
the device connected to the host
computer. For example, an
OM-CP-TEMP101 communicates at
2400 baud, so 2400 baud must be
selected from the
Communication menu.

A To verify that the OM-CP-IFC200
drivers were installed properly,
check to ensure the OM-CP Data
Logging Software can recognize
the device.
