Switch Settings:
“Termination” Switch: Whenattachinganywherealong
a coax cable except at the end, the Termination Switch
shouldbe set to“Termination Out” (factorysetting).When
attaching to the end of a cable, it can be set to
“Termination In.” Note that when the switch is set to
“Termination In,” an external termination element must
not be attached.

1.When using inastand-aloneconfiguration, thisproduct
is intended to be used and must be used only with a
Listed Direct Plug-In Power Unit marked “Class 2” and
rated at 9Vdc, 1 Amp.
2.This product shouldalwaysbeused onlywithOmnitron
Supplied Power Unit model number 9113-PS.

Before installing and connecting the Power
Adapter verify that the power on the unit is
appropriate for your AC line voltage source.
Mounting:
TheOmnitron FlexPoint10FL/2canbe solo-mountedusing
awall-mountingkit,orrack-mountedusinga5-positionspace-
saver shelf, FlexRack 5, or a 14-position high-density
FlexPoint Powered Chassis. When wall-mounting or shelf-
mounting, connect the power adapter unit.
When connecting the FlexPoint 10FL/2 at the end of a coax
segment, attach the coax cable directly into the FlexPoint’s
BNC coax connector. When connecting it along the coax
line(notattheend),usea“T”connectortotapintothecable.
Attach the fiber cables to the FlexPoint’s connectors. The
FlexPoint’s transmit (Tx) must attach to the receive side on
the device at the far end of the fiber and the receive (Rx)
must attach to the transmit side.
FlexPointTM 10FL/2 User Instructions
Description:
The FlexPointTM family of converters supports the
IEEE802.3 andEthernetVersions 1.0 /2.0 standards.
They convert among 10BASE-FL fiber, 10BASE-2
thin coax and 10BASE-T twisted pair (UTP) media
types.
TheFlexPoint 10FL/2converts from 10BASE-FLfiber
to 10BASE-2 coax. It uses ST fiber and BNC coax
connector. The following models are described here:

FormetalST fiber connector, addM before the‘dash’
in the Model Number. Example: 4310M-1, 4311M-0
The 10FL/2 provides a switch-selectable 50 ohm
termination that allows easy termination of the coax
cable. This function should be used only when the
FlexPoint is connected at the end of a segment.
Note that the total length of the coax cable must not
exceed 185 meters and the number of stations on the
coax segment must not exceed 30 stations (per IEEE
802.3 specification).

Warranty
This product is warranted to the original purchaser
againstdefects inmaterialand workmanshipfora period
ofTWO YEARSfrom the dateof shipment. ALIFETIME
warranty may be obtained by the original purchaser by
REGISTERINGthis product withOmnitron within90days
fromthe dateof shipment.TO REGISTER, COMPLETE
ANDMAILOR FAXTHE REGISTRATION PORTIONOF
THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL TO THE INDICATED
ADDRESS. During the warranty period, Omnitron will,
at its option, repair or replace a product which is proven
to be defective.
For warranty service, the product must be sent to an
Omnitron designated facility, at Buyer’s expense.
Omnitron will pay the shipping charge to return the
product to Buyer’s designated US address using
Omnitron’s standard shipping method.
Limitation of Warranty
The foregoing warranty shall not apply to defects
resulting from improper or inadequate use and/or
maintenanceof theequipmentby Buyer,Buyer-supplied
equipment, Buyer-supplied interfacing, unauthorized
modifications or tampering with equipment (including
removal of equipment cover by personnel not
specifically authorized and certified by Omnitron), or
misuse, or operating outside the environmental
specification of the product (including but not limited to
voltage, ambient temperature, radiation, unusual dust,
etc.), or improper site preparation or maintenance.
No other warranty is expressed or implied. Omnitron
specifically disclaims the implied warranties of
merchantability and fitness for any particular purpose.
Exclusive Remedies
The remedies provided herein are the Buyer’s sole and
exclusive remedies. Omnitron shall not be liable for any
direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential
damages, whether based on contract, tort, or any legal
theory.
