An a essory head is available to turn your
Bowl Steady Rest into a Spindle Steady
Rest!
This head uses a s issor-like a tion to
lamp around the spindle, and is very easy
to setup and use. Simply move the Post
forward, atta h the head, and start turning.
Redu ing the vibration along a spindle
means a ni er finish to the pie e (i.e. less
time spent sanding) and a safer, more

Step 1.
Assemble the wheels (Fig. 2, No. 1) to the tensioning arms (Fig 1., No. 3) as
shown in the above diagram. Make sure you use the So ket Head Cap S rews
(Fig. 2, No. 3) whi h are in luded in the Hardware Pa kage.
Note: Scre (Fig. 2, No. 3) should be snug, hereas, the Nut (Fig. 2, No. 4) should
be tight.
Step 2.
Assemble the Tube (Fig 1, No. 2) to the Base Plate (Fig. 1, No. 1) using four
¼”- 20tpi x ¾” long So ket Head Cap S rews (Fig. 1, No. 4) whi h are in lud-
ed in the Hardware Pa kage
Step 3.
Atta h the Tensioning Bar Assembly (Fig. 1, No. 3) to the Post (Fig. 1, No. 2)
and tighten to the desired height.

How to use the Bowl Steady
Position the Bowl Steady to the front of the bowl. Next, bring the two wheels
up lose and perpendi ular to the rim of the bowl (or platter) you are turn-
ing. On e the Bowl Steady is in pla e, tighten down the lo king bolt to se ure
the Base to the lathe bed. Loosen off the nut and give the tensioning arms a
squeeze. When they are firm against the rim, tighten the nut and you are ready
to go.
Notes
1. Experiment ith different locations bet een the foot and rim of the bo l (or platter)
for best results.
2. The thinner the bo l is, the more the bo l rest ill help.
