Please Note
The Opitec Range of Projects is not intended as play toys for young children. They are teaching
aids for young people learning the skills of craft, design and technology. These projects should
only be undertaken and operated with the guidance of a fully qualified adult. The finished pro-
jects are not suitable to give to children under 3 years old. Some parts can be swallowed. Dan-
ger of suffocation!

Cut o the positive pole of the LED light strip (4) as shown above. The negative pole remains to connect the power source.

Select and cut out your desired motif (templates page 5-10). Place the two plywood panels (1) on top of each other and fix them. Fix your selected
template with adhesive tape on top of the panels. To cut out, drill a hole of approx. ø 2 mm within the sawing line for the fretwas blade and then saw
out the motif. Clean the saw cuts.
Cut the frame strip (2) to length as shown in the illustration. Clean the
saw cuts.
Glue the frame strips (2a-2c) onto one of the motif plywoods as shown.
Fix with clamps and let the glue dry well. The A-side faces outwards!

Glue the light strip into the frame as shown. Then tape the positive pole of the next row of connections with a small piece of adhesive tape as shown
in detail.

Cut from both cables of the battery holder (5) 40 mm each and strip
them on both sides. Also strip the shortened cables of the battery
holder.

Wrap each cable piece (40 mm) around a thumbtack (7). Insert the
thumbtack with the black cable at the - pole, the thumbtack with the
red cable at the +pole of the light strip as shown in detail.

Then connect both cables to the luster terminal strip as shown.

Now connect the cables of the battery holder to the luster terminal
strip.

Screw the luster terminal strip onto the wooden frame as shown with
the screw (8).
Note: Insert batteries and check function!

Glue the cover plate congruently. FIx it with clamps and let the glue
dry well.

Use sandpaper to adjust the protruding corners of the frame to the
rounding of the back and top plate.
Round o the corners
of the frame strips.

The deco light can be coloured as desired.

Select and cut out the crip motif (template page 16). Place the two plywood panels (1) on top of each other and fix them. Fix xour selected template
with adhesive tape on top of the panels. To cut drill a hole of approx. ø 2 within the sawing line for the fretsaw blade and then saw out the crip motif.
Also saw out the fir trees. Then clean the saw cuts.
Cut the frame strips (2+3) to length as shown in the illustration. Clean
the saw cuts.
Glue the strips (2a-2d) and (3) together to form a frame, as shown. Let
the glue dry well.

Center a cover plate (1) as shown and glue it onto the frame flush with
the lower edge. Let the glue dry well.

(e.g. Nr. 401274) into the inside part.
