3. Safety Measures
The Lagom P64 is designed with the following safety features incorporated:
The high-speed rotating burrs are access-restricted and are located within the funnel.
There are no exposed moving or electrical parts when used as intended.
The electrical components are isolated in the motor housing.
To operate the grinder safely:
1. Always operate with the bean loading funnel completely assembled as shown in section 2.
2. Do not allow loose long hair or clothing to be near the grinder.
3. Never operate the grinder in a wet environment or with wet hands.
4. Do not put liquids in contact with internal or external parts of the grinder.
5. Do not grind any non-coffee materials (such as grains, spices, sugar etc.) unless indicated otherwise.
6. Do not put pre-ground coffee into the grinder.
7. Do not rub the sharp edges of the coffee burrs with your bare hand.
8. It is recommended to check the beans prior to grinding to make sure there is no foreign material.
9. In the unlikely event where the grinder is stalled or the motor not turning, switch off the grinder
immediately and identify the cause (such as hard foreign object accidentally loaded into the grinder)
before powering on again.
10. Do not allow children to use or play with the grinder without supervision.
11. Do not disassemble the grinder without authorisation.
12. Do not tamper with or perform any unintended modification on the grinder.
13. Power off the grinder after the coffee is ground completely.
14. Unplug the power supply before working on the grinder such as for cleaning and maintenance.
15. Unplug the power supply when left unused for extended period.
The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any damage resulting from failure to comply with the
stated safety measures above.

4. User Instruction
4.1. In the box
Lagom P64 will come with some parts packaged separately in the box for safe transport.
In the box, you should find the following:
i) Lagom P64
ii) Portafilter fork
iii) Dosing funnel for 58mm baskets
iv) Precision dosing cup
v) IEC Power cord (optional, country-specific)
vi) Silicone band (refer section 6.3)
vii) Coffee mixer/WDT stirrer tool
viii) RDT atomiser
Note: the fork and the power cord will come separately within the box. These need to be installed first
before the grinder can be used.
4.2 Using the Lagom P64
The Lagom P64 is designed to be easy and intuitive to use. This is the general workflow we recommend
as a starting point, but you may modify per your use case and preference.
1. Measure out the desired quantity of beans.
RDT is mostly optional but may be helpful in some cases, such as with darker roasted
coffee or for coarse/brew grinding.
2. Place the portafilter with the dosing funnel onto the fork.
3. Load the measured coffee beans into the grinder, and switch on the power switch located on the
bottom-right side of the grinder.
You can load the beans while the motor is off or with the motor running (hot loading).
4. Allow the coffee to complete grinding and dispensing*. Switch off the grinder.
5. Stir the coffee in the basket with the WDT tool to distribute the grind (optional).
6. Tamp and pull the shot.
*Note: In some cases, while that is not necessary, some users may prefer to tap the bean funnel using their
palm to clear any residual grind. We have found that is acceptable and only a gentle tap is required.

4.2.1 Some words on RDT
The amount of static may vary depending on some external factors, such as your locale humidity, burrs
seasoning status and the type of coffee beans.
If you are switching between espresso and coarse grinding, RDT is a simple step that is
recommended to help keep the grind path cleaner.
For best results with RDT, the water spray is best applied at about 2-4 cm away from the
beans. Shake the beans after spraying to evenly distribute the moisture. 1-3 sprays work
best for 18g dose with the spraying bottle included.
For an even easier bean loading process, it is possible to operate the Lagom P64 without
the deflector plate installed. The deflector plate is removable using a 2.5mm hex key
(shown below). As the deflector plate is in part a user safety mechanism, please consider
and assess the potential risks in your case before proceeding.
4.3 Motor speed adjustment
The Lagom P64 comes with the capability to vary the motor RPM.
In general, varying the RPM will change the total grinding time, as well as changing the grind size and
distribution to some extent. If you are changing the RPM, a small tweak in grind setting may be required.
Out of the box, we recommend starting with speed setting 7-9 for the best balance for ease of use and
grinding time. In some cases (for coarse grinding), it may be beneficial to lower the RPM.
The table below shows the conversion between the number on the dial and the RPM* of the motor.

5. Information & tips
The Lagom P64 is a unique grinder in many ways and these are the tips that may not be apparent at first:
The first grind session may have up to ~0.5g retention. This is a static retention as some of the
coffee will be used to fill up the space within the grinder. This will not come off during
subsequent grind – so there is no concern of carry over or stale coffee in your shot.
Please refrain from adjusting the grind setting below zero (sticker indicator) with the motor
running. It is fine for the burrs to contact momentarily but when done excessively it may wear
the coating on the burrs.
That being said, it is perfectly safe to contact the burrs fully when the motor is turned off.
We recommend to keep the motor running when making adjustment to the grind setting.
There is a slight delay before the motor is started after the power switch is activated. This is a self-
check safety feature to protect the driver board and for longer service life span in unexpected
incidents like a power surge etc.
5.1 Additional note about SSP Burrs
The grind from Lagom (with SSP unimodal-espresso burrs) may appear visually finer at a similar
setting compared to most grinders. This can throw you off if you are adjusting the grind size by
eye. The finer grind allows you to extract more evenly without over extraction occurring.
The SSP burrs can benefit from seasoning – e.g. 5kg/10lb is recommended by SSP for their burrs.
However, there is no reason for you to waste coffee. We recommend using it as it is and enjoy the
process as the Lagom becomes more seasoned. As the Lagom is breaking in, you can expect even
lesser static and more uniform grind with even extraction.
For coarse grinding, we do recommend using RDT to eliminate the static for a cleaner process.

6. Cleaning & Maintenance
6.1 Maintenance
The mechanical components such as motor and bearing systems etc are essentially maintenance-free.
6.2 Cleaning
The Lagom P64 has minimal retention by design and therefore does not require regular cleaning like a
conventional grinder with hopper.
As a good practice however, we recommend a 2-month cleaning-interval.
6.3 Procedure for cleaning the grinder
Disassembling Lagom P64 for cleaning will not change your grind setting.
In addition, the grinder is also designed for tool-less disassembly. This means that you do not require any
tools like screw drivers or hex keys when disassembling the grinder for routine cleaning.
1. To access the burrs, undo the outer lock ring (part 3) by hand. The lock ring has a normal thread so
rotate the lock ring counter clockwise when viewing from top.
Note: The silicone band is an optional tool in case a firmer grip is required to undo the lock ring.

2. Once the lock ring is removed, carefully lift up the upper burr carrier and the burrs will be accessible
for cleaning.
3. Use a brush or vacuum (e.g. shop vac) to loosen and remove the grind.
4. Use a lightly moist cloth to wipe the inside of the bean loading funnel.
5. When reassembling, note that the outer lock ring (part 3) does not have to be tightened too much.
Other notes on cleaning:
Note 1: All parts on Lagom P64 are NOT INTENDED for dishwasher cleaning.
Note 2: There may be a thin lubricant layer (food-safe dry film PTFE) applied at moving parts (e.g.
threads) for the parts to operate more smoothly during bedding in period. We recommend not to wipe it
off for an optimal usage experience. However, the use of lubricant is optional and the grinder can operate
perfectly fine without it.
Note 3: We don’t recommend removing the burrs from the carriers during routine cleaning, nor there is a
need to do so.
6.3 Exit chute removal
For safety reasons, the grind exit chute (Part 5 in section 2) is designed to be fixed in place by screws. The
exit chute is designed to have minimal coffee retention and hence there is no need to remove the chute
routinely.
In the event you need to remove the chute, the screw for the exit chute can be assessed once after the
outer lock ring has been removed.
