INFORMATION ABOUT DISPOSAL
Before operating this product, please read all of these
operating instructions carefully.
When using ELLY in European countries (EU incl. EFTA), the following
disposal guidelines must be followed:
Do not dispose of this product with regular household trash
since it must be collected and processed separately.
Disposal of this equipment in regular household trash is
prohibited!
If the device was rented, or if the device is not your personal property,
there is only one way to dispose of it correctly:
If the device was purchased and/or is your property, you have several
disposal options:
• Return this product to the owner or the manufacturer, who will then
ensure it is disposed of, reprocessed or recycled appropriately.
• Send the product back to the dealer/distributor or manufacturer, who
will then ensure it is disposed of, reprocessed or recycled appropriately.
• Potentially, your local community may have established a collection
system allowing you to dispose of electrical scrap free of charge.
Disposal of waste in forests or in nature is illegal and constitutes a
danger to health since hazardous substances may well seep into
the groundwater or enter the food chain!
Furthermore, you are prohibited from disposing of this
equipment in your regular domestic trash!

GENERAL HAZARD WARNINGS AND SAFETY GUIDELINES
This section addresses general applicable safety guidelines and war-
nings for proper installation, deinstallation, start-up, operation,
cleaning, maintenance and servicing of ELLY, a product manufactured
by Opus Novo GmbH.
These operating instructions including safety instructions are
an integral component of the product and should therefore
be retained until the product is disposed of. The user is
required to follow the safety instructions.
If returning the product to the manufactureroraspecic
location named by the manufacturer, the operating instruc-
tions as well as ALL product components must be enclosed.
For the return, only use the packaging prescribed by the
manufacturer, which you should store for the aforementioned
purpose.
BEFORE installation, start-up, operation or cleaning, read the
safety instructions as well as all operating instructions carefully!
Follow all safety guidelines! By doing so, you will protect
yourself and avoid damage to the product.

Regularly check the product
for signs of wear and tear (e.g. dama-
ged cables, ...).
Except for the activities spe-
ciedintheoperatinginstructions,
no alterations or additions to the
product may be made nor mainte-
nance performed.
Maintenance and repair of
this product must only be conducted
byOpusNovoGmbHorbyqualied
experts authorized by Opus Novo
GmbH to do so.
 Qualiedexpertsinclude
persons who are well versed in trans-
portation, maintenance, set-up and
operation of the product and possess
thenecessaryqualications,andwho
have received training from Opus
Novo GmbH in working with or on
this product.
Ensure the product is only
used for the intended purpose. Any
other use may be hazardous and is
deemed improper. This will lead to
immediate forfeiture of all warrantee
and liability claims with respect to
Opus Novo GmbH.
If the product malfunctions,
notify Opus Novo GmbH. Continued
use after a malfunction has become
apparent is not permitted. Do not
attempt to rectify the malfunction
yourself.
This product may not be
operated at elevations above 2000
meters above sea level.
Opus Novo GmbH accepts
no liability whatsoever for any ser-
vice, repair, installation, deinstalla-
tion or maintenance of the product
insofar as Opus Novo GmbH has not
conducted or delegated the afore-
mentioned itself.
Products in need of repair or
products with damage may no longer
be used. In the event of damage,
contact Opus Novo GmbH without
delay. Cease operating the product
and disconnect it from the power
supply.
 Neveruseanymodiedor
uninspected components! Only use
materials, parts and components that
have been expressly recommended,
prescribed and provided by Opus
Novo GmbH for the installation, ope-
ration and cleaning of the product.
During installation, deinstal-
lation or cleaning work, disconnect
the product from the power supply.

No tool, mounting material
or other object should be held, mo-
ved or transported above your head.
Only use the power supply
unit enclosed with the product! If
this should cause any problems or be
damaged, contact Opus Novo GmbH
immediately. Never use a power
supply unit that was not provided by
Opus Novo GmbH! Otherwise, this
will automatically void any and all
warrantee and liability claims.
Never touch any internal
components of the product that may
have been exposed due to damage
(e.g. electrical cables, wiring...)!
The light points of the lumi-
naire ELLY mark the way for people
walking around their home at night.
However, the light points only ope-
rate for a short time. The light points
are not intended to operate conti-
nuously or fully illuminate a room!
The luminaire ELLY is not
suitable as lighting for workspaces!
To ensure the safety of
all people, please fol-
low these instructions
precisely.
In order to ship the product
(e.g. returns), only use the packaging
provided by Opus Novo.
Keep all plastic sheeting,
small parts and packaging materials
away from children!
In order to prevent this
product from improper overheating,
do not install his product close to a
heater or other heat-emitting appli-
ance.
Follow the manufacturer’s
instructions with respect to use of
wall anchors and other mounting
hardware!
Closely check the mounting
(sub-)surface prior to mounting to
ensure it can bear the weight.
All of the drill sizes and
anchoring materials are only recom-
mendations and may vary according
to the (sub)surface. In this regard, we
strongly advise contacting a compa-
ny with suitable expertise.

about anchoring points, distances,
mounting heights and other moun-
ting instructions must be complied
with as stated in the operating inst-
ructions / manual.
Before beginning to mount
or operate the product, doublecheck
the contents of the package to ensu-
re it is complete.
If you have a complaint (da-
maged or missing parts), please get
in contact with Opus Novo GmbH.
Handle the packaging and
individual parts with care to avoid
causing damage. Opus Novo GmbH
accepts no liability for damages
caused after the product has been
unpacked.
Only a suitable power supply
unit may be used! A suitable power
supply unit will be labeled SELV and/
or ES1 and meet the electrical requi-
rements as described on the label.
Only use a power supply unit
as prescribed by the manufacturer of
ELLY!
For safety and functional reasons, a wall mounting of this product is highly
recommended! Use the enclosed pedestal to install the product temporarily
only if wall mounting is not immediately available. In doing so, pay close
attention to the following safety guidelines:
Only place this product with
pedestal in locations where children
or persons in need of care are unable
to reach it. Ensure that the position
of the product cannot be changed
unintentionally or by anyone unau-
thorized to do so.
Do not place the product
close to edges or gaps, thereby avo-
iding the likelihood of the product
falling and being damaged.
If the product should drop or
fall over, immediately shut it down.
Contact Opus Novo GmbH without
delay. Further start-up or operation
of the product is prohibited.
Place the product in a loca-
tion where the repositioning of the
light points and/or motion sensor
cannot occur unintentionally.

Electrical Safety Instructions
For personal safety, it
is necessary to follow
these instructions.
Only use the power supply
unit which was included by Opus
Novo GmbH! During the mounting
process, ensure that the product is
not connected to an electrical outlet
or the power supply unit. Only turn
on the included power supply unit
when installation and mounting have
been completed.
All mounting, dismantling
and cleaning activities must be
conducted with the product discon-
nected from the power supply. Turn
off the power supply unit and ensure
there is no power.
During all mounting, dis-
mantling and cleaning activities, pay
close attention to the electronic con-
nections and wiring schematics of the
rooms in question. Ensure that the
product is not mounted close to ins-
talled electrical wiring. In this regard,
we strongly recommend contacting a
rmwithsuitableexpertise!
Ensure that the cable of the
power supply unit is not under ten-
sion and the distance to the power
outlet is kept to a minimum. If neces-
sary, use an extension cable in order
to protect the cable of the power
supply unit from mechanical tension.
Fasten the cable of the pow-
er supply unit as well as any potential
extension cable to the wall. Do not
allow it to hang loose or lie on the
oor!
Do not lay the cable of the
power supply unit or any potential
extensioncableacrosstheoor,
thereby avoiding the chance that
someone might trip or fall.
Protect the electrical cable
of the power supply unit as well as
of any potential extension cables
from unintentional or unauthorized
contact. Lay cables out of the reach
of children.
Opus Novo GmbH accepts
no liability for damages which are
due to improper electrical installation
or improperly laid cables.
If required, use a DC extensi-
on cable.

Cleaning Safety Instructions
For personal safety, it
is necessary to follow
these instructions.
During cleaning, the product
must be disconnected from the po-
wer supply. Prior to cleaning, turn off
the power supply unit and ensure no
currentisowing.
In order to clean this pro-
duct, only use the cleansers and
cleaning methods as described in the
operating and mounting instructions. Always adhere to the
cleaning steps as detailed in these
operating and mounting instructions
without exception.
If cleaning with cleansers or
water, never operate the product
immediately after cleaning! Please
follow the cleaning guidelines contai-
ned in these operating and mounting
instructions.
If you have questions about
cleaning this product, please contact
Opus Novo GmbH.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS WHILST OPERATING
For personal safety, it is important to follow these instructions.
Otherwise, improper operation or inadequate maintenance my
result in increased risk of injury or product damage.
The product may only be
operated by people who have read
and understood the entire contents
of the operating and mounting
instructions as well as these safety
instructions.
Regularly check the product
for signs of wear and tear (e.g. dama-
ged casing, cable, ...).
Do not use products in need
of repair! Contact the manufacturer
without delay.
 Modiedand/oruntested
parts may not be used. In particular,
no power supply unit not provided
by Opus Novo GmbH may be used!
This product may only be
repaired and/or maintained by
specialists authorized by Opus Novo
GmbH.

In the event of fumes or
smoke, stop using the product
immediately! Likewise, if it unex-
pectedly overheats or malfunctions,
stop operating the product at once!
Continued use or operation of the
product is prohibited! Contact Opus
Novo GmbH immediately!
Avoid improper or uninten-
tional product activation or product
use. Disconnect the product from the
power supply and unplug the power
supply unit whenever the product is
not in use.
Keep the product and ope-
rating equipment away from children
and store outside of their reach.
Keep persons in need of care
as well as persons with physical and/
or mental disabilities away from the
product as well as operating equip-
ment.
Avoid potentially hazardous
situations affecting persons or the
product itself.
 Disconnectelectriedpro-
ducts from the power supply whene-
ver mounting, dismantling, cleaning
or conducting maintenance.
In order to prevent your eyes
from being blinded, do not look
directly into the light source! Avoid
looking at the light points and all illu-
minated parts of the product directly.
In the event the product is
damaged, further use is expressly
prohibited! Furthermore, use of the
product is prohibited if it is deformed
or destroyed, in whole or in part, or if
it shows other forms of damage.
As soon as one light point
becomes defective, the entire device
should be regarded as defective.
That said, at that stage any further
operation of the device is expressly
prohibited. Users are prohibited from
replacing individual light points.
Stop using the product
immediately in the event of fumes,
smoke or unexpected overheating!
Disconnect the power supply unit
from the electrical outlet at once!
Further use or operation of the
product is prohibited! Contact Opus
Novo GmbH immediately!
Do not hold onto or support
yourself on the product (especially
wall mounts)! Inform all persons asso-
ciated with this product to that end!

PRODUCT INFORMATION
Product description and intended purpose
The product ELLY by Opus Novo is a luminaire used to illumi-
nate the way a person might take at night (“light point control”).
In addition, a “motion detector” recognizes the movements of
people and, if desired, sends a message to a smartphone app.
IMPORTANT: Elly is not a medical device and is not able to re-
cognize falls or injuries, nor can it prevent or stop them.

The actual product version has the following product functions:

This product is intended exclusively for use within all member sta-
tes of the EU, all EFTA member states as well as Northern Ireland.
This product is an electrical device, meeting
Class 3 safety standards (SELV and ES1) as well
as IP20.

The minimum ambient operating temperature is 10 °C, the
maximum 30 °C.
ELLY may temporarily reach a maximum of 5.6 W at 5.0 VDC. Only

ELLY is not a medical device nor a medical accessory! Only use for
the purposes for which it is intended!

Slide the module onto the
mounting element.
Now slide the black sleeve
over the mounting pivot.
Rotate the sensor in the
direction you wish to detect
motion (e.g. bed exit point).
In doing so, rotate the entire
module.
Now tighten the acorn nut
using a spanner.
Ensure there are no objects
in front of the sensor!
Gently screw on the acorn
nut.

First slide the black sleeve
over the mounting pivot.
If necessary, remove the non-
slip mat from the pedestal.

Now tighten the nut, using
suitable pliers.
Now mount the non-slip mat
back on the pedestal.
If dismantling the pedestal,
follow the same sequence in
reverse.

Open WiFi settings on your
smartphone. Select the
WiFi provided by your ELLY
device.

into network”.
Now enter the data for your
own WiFi network and click
on “connect”.
Connect the module to the
power supply unit. A blue
light will begin to blink in the
lower segment of the module.
