Orange Open LRS - Open LRSng 2.1 - Quick Start Guide
Introduction
The following instructions outline how to configure Orange Open LRS with Open LRSng. The
basic process is as follows.
1. Upload
2. Settings
3. Bind
4. Fail Safe
5. Play
Before proceeding please note.
1. Purchase a Future Technology Devices International (FTDI) Programmer 3.3V (VCC and I/O).
2. Inspect soldering on both remote control receiver (RCRX) and remote control transmitter
(RCTX).
3. Ensure antennas are connected at all times.
Upload
1. Download Arduino Software (Installation Guide).
2. Download FTDI Driver (Installation Guide).
3. Download and Extract openLRSng zip file.
4. Right click openLRSng-X.X folder that contains relevant files and rename openLRSng.
5. Connect FTDI Programmer to RCRX then connect USB to computer.
6. Double click openLRS.ino file.
7. Click Tools>Board>Arduino Pro or Pro Mini(5V, 16 MHz) w/ATmega328.
8. Click Tools>Serial Port then select correct port.
9. Click Verify then wait until done compiling.
10.Click Upload then wait until done uploading.
11.Disconnect USB from computer then disconnect FTDI Programmer from RCRX.
12.Scroll down Sketch and locate //#define COMPILE_TX.
13.Change to #define COMPILE_TX

14.Connect FTDI Programmer to RCTX then connect USB to computer.
15.Click Verify then wait until done compiling.
16.Click Upload then wait until done uploading.
17.Disconnect USB from computer then disconnect FTDI Programmer from RCTX.
18.Upload complete.
Settings
1. Connect FTDI Programmer to RCTX then connect USB to computer.
2. Double click openLRS.ino file.
3. Click Tools>Board>Arduino Pro or Pro Mini(5V, 16 MHz) w/ATmega328.
4. Click Tools>Serial Port then select correct port.
5. Click Serial Monitor.
6. Select Newline and 115200 baud.
7. Close Serial Monitor.
8. Press and hold FAIL SAFE button on RCTX.
9. Click Serial Monitor.
10.Loaded settings from EEPROM will appear.
11.Release FAIL SAFE button on RCTX.
12.Entering binding mode will appear.
13.Click Send.
14.Menu will appear.
15.Adjust as necessary.
Bind
1. Press and hold FAIL SAFE on RCTX.
2. Power on RCTX.
3. WARNING LED on RCTX will turn on once then RCTX will beep once.
4. Release FAIL SAFE button on RCTX.
5. RCTX will beep repeatedly.
6. Power on RCRX.
7. LED 2 on RCRX will turn on briefly then both LED 1 and LED 2 will turn on.
8. Power off RCRX.
9. Power off RCTX.
10.Bind complete.

Fail Safe
1. Power on RCTX.
2. Power on RCRX.
3. Move controls to desired position.
4. Press and hold FAIL SAFE button on RCTX.
5. WARNING LED on RCTX will turn on.
6. Release FAIL SAFE button on RCTX.
7. Fail Safe complete.
Play
1. Download Chrome.
2. Download Open LRSng Spectrum Analyser.
3. Connect jumper between signal pins three and four on RCRX.
4. Connect FTDI Programmer to RCRX then connect USB to computer.
5. Click openLRSng –Spectrum Analyser App.
6. Select correct port and 115200 baud then click connect.
7. Adjust as necessary.
