INTRODUCTION
Thank you for selecting the Oregon ScientificTM
Intercom Baby Monitor with Lullaby (BBM212 – parent
unit / BBR212 – baby unit).
The parent and baby units can interact with an
additional parent unit (BBM212M). If you purchase an
extra parent unit, 2 people can monitor the baby unit
and 2 parent units can talk to each other. Contact your
local retailer for further information.
NOTE Please keep this manual handy as you use
your new product. It contains practical step-by-step
instructions, as well as technical specifications and
warnings you should know.
WARNINGS
• This product should only be operated by an adult
and should not to be used as a toy for children.
• This product is not intended and should not be used
as a replacement for responsible adult supervision;
it only acts as a support for your child-caring
purpose. Any type of liability beyond statutory
warranty regulations or resulting from improper use
of this product and/or use not in accordance with
product warnings, precautions and instructions is
excluded.
LIMITATION OF WARRANTY AND LIABILITY
Oregon Scientific provides warranty for products with
manufacturing defects. A product which is: damaged,
misused, abused, improperly used by user; used not
in accordance with any product warnings, precautions
or instructions mentioned in this Manual; used
inconsistently with the technical or safety standards
in force in the country where this product is used, or
damaged due to leaky or defective batteries; used by
children as a toy or placed less than 1 meter away
from and within the reach of the child, is not subject
to warranty/liability.
• Please ensure that this product and adapter cable
are always kept out of the reach of your child and
at least 1 meter away.
• Never place the baby unit inside the baby crib or
near water (e.g., bathtub, wet basement, etc.).

GETTING STARTED
POWER
BABY UNIT
We recommend you use the adapter for continuous
use. However, the unit can be powered by alkaline
batteries.

WARNINGS
•The mains plug shall remain readily operable.
•Non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries must be
disposed of properly. For this purpose, special containers
are provided for non-rechargeable and rechargeable

LOST-LINK ALARM
When the parent unit cannot receive data from the
baby unit (due to interference or out-of-range
distance), an alarm will sound and will flash. The
temperature/ humidity reading on the parent unit will
display as “- - -”. The alarm sound will stop only when
the connection between the units is linked again.
1. Insert batteries / adapters (as shown in the Power
section).
2. Turn the baby unit on first and then the parent unit.

HIGH / LOW TEMPERATURE ALARM
This function alerts you when the temperature
becomes too hot or too cold for your child.
To set the high / low alarm:
1. Press to toggle between high or low
temperature alarm. will flash when the high /
low temperature alarm display is selected.
COMFORT INDICATOR
The unit calculates the comfort level from the
temperature and humidity levels. The baby-face
comfort indicator lets you know if your baby feels
comfortable, hot or cold in the room.

CHANGE VOLUME
To change the volume (0-5), press +/-. 0 = mute and
5 = high volume.
NOTE All alarm sounds are independent of the
volume level.
NOTE You may hear a high pitched noise if the parent
unit is placed too closely to the baby unit. The noise
will stop sounding once the units are moved away
from one another.
SOUND LIGHT INDICATORS
The sound light indicators on the parent unit can alert
you visually to a baby’s sound. The louder the sound
received from the baby unit, the more lights will be
on.
TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
The baby unit measures the surrounding temperature
and humidity, and displays it on both the parent and
baby units’ LCD screen. The parent unit automatically
rotates the temperature and humidity readings every 5
seconds and the baby unit permanently displays them.
To change the temperature unit, slide the ˚C / ˚Fswitch
in the battery compartment to your desired setting.
If “- - -” is displayed on the baby unit, it cannot collect
the temperature or humidity reading.

2. Press to enable or disable alarm.
3. Press and hold to change the setting. The
default setting is 26˚C (78.8˚F) for high and 19˚C
(66.2˚F) for low.
4. Use + / - to change the setting.
5. Press to confirm.
When the temperature exceeds a high or low setting,
the alarm will sound for 2 minutes and the backlight
will turn on for 8 seconds.
To stop the alarm, press any key except .
SET CLOCK / VOICE ACTIVATION SENSITIVITY
1. Press and hold to enter the setting mode.
2. Press +or -to change the setting. To scroll through
the numbers quickly, press and hold +or -.
3. Press to confirm a setting and move on to
the next one. The setting sequence is: 12 / 24 -
hour format, hour, minute and voice activation
sensitivity level (0-3).
NOTE The clock is now set for both parent units and
the voice activation sensitivity is set for all units.
NOTE The voice activation sensitivity feature
increases / decreases the level of sound the parent
unit emits. When set to 0, all sounds, regardless of
level, can be heard on the parent unit.

SOOTHING SOUND / SLEEP TIMER
To select and play 1 of 3 soothing sounds:
• Press to turn on a song. Press repeatedly
to select the song you want (Lullaby, Brook or White
Noise).
To set the sleep timer:
• Press repeatedly to set the unit to turn off
after 15 - > 30- > 60- > or 0 minutes. When 0
minutes is selected the sleep timer will
automatically turn off after a few seconds.

• Press , this will automatically activate the
last setting you used.

TALK FUNCTION
To talk to the baby unit, press and hold .
Release when you have finished talking.
To talk to another parent unit, press and hold .
Release when you have finished talking. An additional
parent unit can be purchased separately.
BACKLIGHT
Press to turn the backlight on for 8 secs.
RESET
To return either unit to the default settings, insert a
blunt stylus into the RESET hole in the battery
compartment.
• Do not immerse the unit in water.
• Do not cover the ventilation holes. Make sure items
that are nearby such as newspapers, tablecloths,
curtains, blankets, beddings etc cannot accidentally
cover the ventilation holes.
• Use a soft, slightly moistened cloth to clean the
unit. Do not use abrasive or corrosive cleaning
agents, as these may cause damage.
• Do not subject the product to excessive force,
shock, dust, temperature changes, humidity and
direct sunlight for extended periods.
• Do not tamper with the internal components. Doing
so will terminate the product warranty and may
cause damage. The unit contains no user-
serviceable parts.
• Remove the batteries when storing the product for
a long time. Do not mix new and old batteries.
NOTE The technical specifications for this product
and the contents of the user guide are subject to

BABYEINHEIT
Für Dauerbetrieb empfehlen wir die Verwendung des
Netzteils, Sie können das Gerät jedoch auch nur mit
Alkaline-Batterien betreiben.

TISCHAUFSTELLER – BABY- UND
ELTERNEINHEIT
Das animierte Batteriesymbol zeigt den Ladevorgang
an. erscheint ohne Animation, wenn der Akku
vollständig aufgeladen ist. Laden Sie die Akkus vor
der ersten Verwendung 12 Stunden lang auf und
drücken Sie auf RESET. Nach der ersten Aufladung
müssen Sie das Gerät nur mehr 8 – 10 Stunden lang
laden, bis die Batterie den vollständigen Ladezustand
aufweist.
SCHWACHE BATTERIE
Das Symbol in der LCD-Anzeige der Elter-
neinheit blinkt, wenn die Batterieladung der
Babyeinheit zu niedrig ist, und ein Warnsignal
ertönt 1x pro Minute, bis die Batterie leer ist

muessen sauber entsorgt werden. Sie gehoeren
auf keinen Fall in den Hausmuell! Als Verbraucher
sind Sie gesetzlich verpflichtet, gebrauchte
Batterien zurueckzugeben. Fuer diesen Zweck
stehen spezielle Container an oeffentlichen oder
kommunalen Sammelstellen, um dort aufladbare
und nicht wiederaufladbare Batterien entsorgen
zu koennen.

Das Verbindungssymbol weist Sie auf den
Verbindungsstatus zwischen beiden Geräten hin.
ist das Symbol für eine 2-Weg-Verbindung
zwischen Baby- und Elterneinheit.
ist das Symbol für eine 3-Weg-Verbindung
zwischen Babyeinheit und 2 Elterneinheiten.
STATUS DES VERBINDUNGSSIGNALS
3. Die Geräte können sich nun untereinander als
zusammengehörig erkennen. (Es wird automatisch
nach einem optimalen Übertragungssignal
gesucht.) Wenn jedoch der Alarm bei
Verbindungsabbruch ertönt, konnte die Verbindung
nicht erfolgreich hergestellt werden, und der oben
beschriebene Vorgang muss wiederholt werden.
4. Stellen Sie die Geräte nicht weiter als 300 m
voneinander entfernt auf.
HINWEIS Um eine zusätzliche Elterneinheit
(BBM212M) zu erwerben, kontaktieren Sie bitte Ihren
Händler vor Ort.
Für optimale Ergebnisse:
• Stellen Sie die Geräte entfernt von elektrischen oder
mechanischen Gegenständen, direkter
Sonnenbestrahlung oder Feuchtigkeit auf.
• Überschreiten Sie nicht die maximale
Übertragungsreichweite der Geräte von 300 m.
• Vermeiden Sie Hindernisse, wie Türen, Wände und
Möbel, da diese die Übertragungsreichweite
zwischen den beiden Geräten verringern können.
Möglicherweise müssen Sie verschiedene
Standorte testen, um einen optimalen Empfang zu
erzielen.

GETRENNT
ALARM BEI VERBINDUNGSABBRUCH
Wenn die Elterneinheit keine Daten von der
Babyeinheit empfängt (aufgrund einer Störung oder
Entfernung außerhalb der Reichweite), ertönt ein
Alarmsignal und das Symbol beginnt zu blinken.
Als Messwert für Temperatur / Luftfeuchtigkeit wird
“- - -” auf der Elterneinheit angezeigt. Das Alarmsignal
wird nur beendet, wenn die Verbindung zwischen
beiden Geräten wiederhergestellt ist.
INBETRIEBNAHME
1. Legen Sie die Batterien ein und stecken Sie den
Netzadapter an (wie im Abschnitt Stromversorgung
dargestellt).
2. Schalten Sie zuerst die Babyeinheit und
anschließend die Elterneinheit ein.
