INTRODUCTION
Thank you for selecting the BAR888 Weather Forecast,
Multi-channel In / Out Thermometer with 433MHz cable
free sensor and radio controlled calendar clock. The
main unit BAR888 has a built in barometer,
thermometer and clock station and is capable of
keeping track of minimum and maximum temperatures
in different locations via transmissions from the
THR128 remote thermo sensor. The current time and
date is automatically synchronized when brought within
an approximate 1500km radius of the radio signal
generated from Frankfurt Germany (D F77). The time
and date can also be set manually when out of range.

MAIN FEATURES: REMOTE UNIT BEFORE OU BEGIN
Position the remote and main units within effective
transmission range which in usual circumstances, is
20 to 30 meters.
For best operation:
1. Assign different channels to different remote units.
2. Insert batteries for remote units before doing so
for the main unit.
3. Place the main unit as close as possible to the
remote unit. Reset the main unit after installing
batteries to ensure easier synchronization
between the transmission and reception of
signals.
The effective range is affected by the building
materials and where the main and remote units are
positioned. Try various set-ups for best result.
Though the remote units are weather proof, they
should be placed away from direct sunlight, rain, or
snow.
REMOTE UNIT SETUP
For best results, use lithium ion batteries in the
remote sensing unit if the outdoor temperature falls
below -5 ° (41 °F), other battery types will not function
at such low temperatures.
If there is a clear plastic tab in the battery
compartment, please remove it before installing the
batteries.
To install the batteries and change the channel:
1. Remove the screws on the battery compartment.
2. Select the channel number on the CHANNEL
slide switch.
3. Select the temperature display unit on the °/°F
slide switch.

polarities shown.
5. Replace the battery compartment door and secure
its screws.
6. Using a blunt stylus such as a paper clip, press
RESET.

Replace the batteries when the low-battery indicator
of the particular channel lights up on the main unit.
Note that once a channel is assigned to a remote unit,
you can only change it by replacing the batteries or
resetting the unit.
MAIN UNIT SETUP
To install the batteries:
1. Slide open the battery compartment door.
2. Insert the batteries according to the polarities
shown.
3. Replace the battery compartment door.
hange the batteries when the low-battery indicator
for the indoor temperature lights up.
If there is a clear plastic tab in the battery
compartment, please remove it before installing the
batteries.
LOW BATTER WARNING
When it is time to replace batteries, the low-battery
indicator will show up when the respective channel is
selected. The battery level of the main unit will be
shown on the indoor temperature display when it is
running low.
TABLE STAND OR WALL MOUNT
The main unit has a retractable table stand, which when
flipped open, can support the unit on a flat surface. Or
you can flip close the stand and mount the unit on a
wall using the recessed screw hole.

The main unit comes with a wall-mount holder and a
removable stand. Use either to hold the unit in place.

REMOTE UNIT
THE RESET BUTTON
This button is only used when the unit is operating in
an unfavorable way or malfunctioning. Insert a pointed
object such as an unfolded paper clip into the reset
hole, then press and hold. All settings will return to
their default values.
GETTING STARTED
Once batteries are in place for the remote units, they
will start transmitting temperature readings at
30-second intervals.
The main unit will also start searching for signals for
about a minute once batteries are installed. Upon
successful reception, the individual channel
temperatures will be displayed on the 2nd line and the
indoors temperature on the 3rd line. The main unit will
automatically update its readings at about 30-second
intervals.
If no signals are received, blanks “ ” will be
displayed and the kinetic wave icon will show “ ”.
Press CHANNEL and MEMOR simultaneously to
enforce another search for about 30 seconds. This is
useful in synchronizing the transmission and reception
of the remote and main units.
Repeat this step whenever you find discrepancies
between the reading shown on the main unit and the
respective remote unit.

CHECK REMOTE AND INDOOR
TEMPERATURES
The indoor temperature is shown on the 3rd line of
the display.
To check the temperature at a remote sensors location,
you need to select its channel. Press CHANNEL to
go from one channel to another. The kinetic wave
display on the channel number indicates the reception
of that particular channel is in good order.
If no readings are received from one particular channel
for more than two minutes, blanks “ ” will be
displayed until further readings are successfully
searched. heck that the remote unit is sound and
secure. You can wait for a little while or press
CHANNEL and MEMOR simultaneously to enforce
an immediate search. No reading will be shown if no
remote unit is assigned to a selected channel.
The temperature trend indicator on the screen shows
the trend of samplings collected at a particular remote
site. Three trends, rising, steady, and falling will be
shown.

If the temperature goes above or below the
temperature measuring range of the main unit or the
remote unit (stated in specification), the display will
show “HHH” or “LLL”.
READ THE KINETIC WAVE DISPLA
The kinetic wave display shows the signal receiving
status of the main unit. There are three possible forms:
The unit is in searching
mode.
Temperature readings are
securely registered.
No signals.
MAXIMUM AND MINIMUM TEMPERATURES
The maximum and minimum recorded indoor
temperatures and those of each channel will be
automatically stored in memory. To display them:
1. Select the channel to be checked.
2. Press MEMOR once to display the maximum
temperature and again the minimum temperature.
The respective indicators, MAX or MIN will be
displayed.
To clear the memory, press and hold MEMOR for
two seconds. The maximum and minimum
temperatures will be erased. If you press MEMOR
now, the maximum and minimum temperatures will
have the same values as the current ones until new
readings are recorded.
DISCONNECTED SIGNALS
If without obvious reason the display for a particular
channel goes blank, press CHANNEL and MEMOR
to enforce an immediate search. If that fails, check:
1. The remote unit of that channel is still in place.
2. The batteries of both the remote unit and main
unit. Replace as necessary.
3. The transmission is within range and path is clear
of obstacles and interference. Shorten the
distance when necessary.
For best results, use lithium ion batteries in the remote
sensing unit if the outdoor temperature falls below
41 °F (-5 °), other battery types will not function at
such low temperatures.
TRANSMISSION COLLISION
Signals from other household devices, such as door
bells, home security systems and entry controls, may
interfere with those of this product and cause
temporarily reception failure. This is normal and does
not affect the general performance of the product. The
transmission and reception of temperature readings
will resume once the interference recedes.
SWITCHING BETWEEN °C AND °F
The unit of temperature display is selected on the °/°F
slide switch. Select ° for entigrade or °F for Fahrenheit.
The remote temperature display shown on the
main unit is dominated by the selection on the °/°F
slide switch of the main unit. Whatever the display units
of the remote sensors are, they will be automatically
converted to the chosen one of the main unit.
WEATHER FORECAST FUNCTION
Your BAR888 detects barometric pressure changes
and the L D displays the illustrated weather symbols
which indicates the weather forecast for 12 to 24 hours
ahead, for an area with a radius of about 30-50 km.

Important:
1. The accuracy of weather forecasting when using
pressure trend alone is about 70 to 75 percent
and, therefore, the manfuacturers and suppliers
cannot be held responsible for any inconveniences
caused by an inaccurate weather forecast.
2. The weather forecast symbols may not reflect
current weather condition. The symbols are
forecasting the future.
3. A “SUNNY” forecast covering the night-time
reflects fine clear weather.
HOW TO READ THE PRESSURE TREND
The BAR888 gives you the pressure trend for the last
hour. It is indicated by the arrow displayed in the right
hand side of the upper display. An upward pointing
trend arrow indicates that it is likely that the weather is
improving or may be getting worse if the trend arrow
is falling. Here is what it can look like:

The BAR888 supports different display modes.

Press MODE, to change from one display mode to
the next
The bottom line of the display will be replaced
by the alarm time if the 24hr OFF button is pressed.

ABOUT RADIO RECEPTION
The BAR888 is designed to automatically synchronize
its current time and date when brought within an
approximate 1500km radius of the radio signal
generated from Frankfurt Germany (D F77).
When the BAR888 is within range, its radio-control
mechanism will override all manual settings.
When the unit receives radio signal, the radio reception
signal will start to blink. A complete reception generally
takes about 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the strength
of the radio signal.
When reception is complete, the radio reception signal
will stop blinking. The signal strength indicator from
the last full hour will be shown.
For better reception, place the clock away from metal
objects and electrical appliances to minimize
interference.
If you wish to turn off the auto-reception feature, press
and hold - for three seconds. The radio reception signal
will disappear. The unit will not respond to radio signals.
To activate the feature again, press and hold the
+ button for three seconds.The radio reception signal
will start blinking to initiate reception automatically.
SET THE CLOCK MANUALL
To manually set the clock:
1. Press and hold MODE / SET until the hour flashes.
2. Press + or - to set the hour, then press MODE / SET
to confirm.
3. Repeat step 3 to set the minutes, year, month,
day, and display language.
The time and date is displayed in 12-hour
clock and month-day format. For the language display,
you can choose among English (E), French (F), and
Spanish (S).

Tips:
•If there is an item you do not wish to change,
simply press MODE / SET to bypass that
setting.
•Press and hold + / - to rapidly change a value.
SET AND ARM THE ALARM
To set the alarm,
1. Press 24hr OFF once to display the alarm time.
The alarm time that was last set will be displayed.
If you have never set the alarm before, the time
will be displayed as 12:00am.
2. Press 24hr OFF for three seconds. The hour
digits will blink.
3. Enter the hour using + / -.
4. Press 24hr OFF. The minute digits will blink.
5. Enter the minutes using + / -.
6. Press 24hr OFF to exit.
You can arm or disarm an alarm by pressing the
ON / OFF button; an icon will show when the
alarm is activated.
STOP THE ALARM
To stop an alarm, you can use either 24hr OFF or
ON / OFF.
•Pressing 24hr OFF will stop the alarm, but
it will remain armed and will go off at the set
time the next day.
•Pressing ON / OFF will stop the alarm and
deactivate it altogether.

INTRODUCTION
Nous vous remercions d'avoir choisi la Station météo
multicanal - thermomètre intérieur / extérieur BAR888,
avec sonde sans fil 433 MHz et horlo e calendaire
radio pilotée. L'appareil principal BAR888 est équipé
d'un baromètre, d'un thermomètre et d'une horlo e
inté rés. Il permet de suivre les températures minimum
et maximum de différents emplacements râce
aux données transmises par la sonde à distance
THR128. L’heure et la date sont synchronisées
automatiquement lorsque l’appareil se trouve dans un
rayon d’environ 1500 km par rapport au si nal radio
émis depuis Frankfort, en Allema ne (DCF77).
L'ensemble de base contient:

AVANT DE DÉMARRER
Positionnez l'appareil à distance et l'appareil principal
dans un rayon effectif de transmission, soit, dans des
circonstances normales, dans un rayon de 20 à
30 mètres.
Pour un fonctionnement optimal:
1. Attribuez différents canaux aux différents
appareils à distance.
2. Insérez les piles des appareils à distance avant
celles de l'appareil principal.
3. Placez l'appareil principal aussi proche que
possible de l'appareil à distance. Réinitialisez
l'appareil principal après avoir installé les piles
afin d'assurer une meilleure synchronisation entre
la transmission et la réception des si naux.
Le rayon effectif de transmission peut-
être affaibli par certains matériaux de construction ainsi
que par la façon dont les appareils sont positionnés.
Essayez différentes combinaisons pour un meilleur
résultat.
Bien que les appareils à distance soient étanches, ils
doivent être proté és contre les rayons directs du
soleil, la pluie et la nei e.
RÉGLAGE DE L'APPAREIL À DISTANCE
Pour un résultat optimal, utilisez des piles ion / lithium
pour l'appareil à distance si les températures
descendent en dessous de -5 °C (41 °F) ; les autres
types de piles fonctionnent mal à de telles
températures.
Si le compartiment de piles contient une
lan uette de protection transparente et plastique,
retirez-la avant d'installer les piles.
Pour installer les piles et modifier le canal:
1. Retirez les vis du compartiment de piles.
2. Sélectionnez le numéro du canal sur le sélecteur
CHANNEL.
3. Sélectionnez l'unité d'afficha e des températures
sur le sélecteur °C/°F.
REMARQUE
4. Insérez les piles conformément aux polarités
indiquées.
5. Remettez la trappe du compartiment de piles en
place et resserrez les vis.
6. À l'aide d'une pointe émoussée telle que celle d'un
trombone, appuyez sur RESET.

Remplacez les piles lorsque l'indicateur de piles
faibles, pour un canal particulier, s'allume sur l'appareil
principal.
Remarquez que lorsqu'un canal a été attribué à un
appareil à distance, il ne peut être modifié qu'en
remplaçant les piles ou en réinitialisant l'appareil.
RÉGLAGE DE L'APPAREIL PRINCIPAL
Pour installer les piles:
1. Ouvrez la trappe du compartiment de piles en la
faisant lisser.
2. Insérez les piles conformément aux polarités
indiquées.
REMARQUE
3. Remettez la trappe du compartiment de piles en
place.
Chan ez les piles lorsque l'indicateur de piles faibles
pour la température intérieure s'allume.
Si le compartiment de piles contient une
lan uette de protection transparente et plastique,
retirez-la avant d'installer les piles.
INDICATEUR DE PILES FAIBLES
Lorsque les piles doivent être remplacées, l'indicateur
de piles faibles s'affiche au moment où le canal
concerné est sélectionné. Lorsque les piles de
l'appareil principal faiblissent, le niveau des piles
apparaît sur l'écran de la température intérieure.
FIXATION MURALE OU SUR PIED
L'appareil principal est équipé d'un pied rétractable
qui maintient l'appareil sur une surface plate. Vous
pouvez é alement rabattre le pied et fixez l'appareil
sur un mur à l'aide du trou de fixation.
APPAREIL PRINCIPAL
L'appareil principal est équipé d'un support mural et
d'un pied amovible. Utilisez l'un ou l'autre pour
maintenir l'appareil en place.

BOUTON RESET
Ce bouton ne doit être utilisé que lorsque l'appareil
fonctionne mal. Insérez un objet pointu, tel qu'un
trombone déplié, dans le trou de fixation, puis appuyez
sans relâcher. Tous les ré la es reviennent sur leurs
valeurs par défaut.
MISE EN MARCHE
Dès que les piles sont en place dans les appareils à
distance, ceux-ci commencent à transmettre les
relevés de températures par intervalles de
30 secondes.
Une fois les piles en place, l'appareil principal
commence é alement à rechercher les si naux
(pendant une minute environ). Lorsque la réception
est réussie, les températures des différents canaux
s'affichent sur la 2ème li ne et la température intérieure
sur la 3ème li ne. L'appareil principal actualise
automatiquement les relevés toutes les 30 secondes.
Fixation murale
APPAREIL À DISTANCE
En cas de non réception des si naux, des blancs “ ”
s'affichent et l'icône d'onde cinétique indique “ ”.
Appuyez simultanément sur CHANNEL et MEMORY
pour forcer une autre recherche pendant environ 30
secondes. Ceci est utile pour synchroniser la
transmission et la réception des appareils à distance
avec l'appareil principal.
Répétez cette étape en cas de différence entre le
relevé affiché sur l'appareil principal et celui de l'appareil à
distance.

CONTRÔLER LES TEMPÉRATURES
INTÉRIEURE ET À DISTANCE
La température intérieure est affichée sur la 3ème li ne
de l'afficha e.
Pour contrôler la température d'un endroit où se trouve
une sonde distante, vous devez sélectionner son
canal. Appuyez sur CHANNEL pour faire défiler les
canaux. L'onde cinétique affichée sur le numéro du
canal indique que la réception de ce canal particulier
est correcte.
En cas de non réception des relevés d'un canal
particulier pendant plus de deux minutes, des blancs
“” s'affichent jusqu'à ce que d'autres relevés soient
captés. Vérifiez que l'appareil à distance est
correctement fixé. Attendez un court instant ou appuyez
simultanément sur CHANNEL et MEMORY pour forcer
une recherche immédiate. Aucun relevé ne s'affiche si
aucun appareil à distance n'a été attribué au canal
sélectionné.
L'indicateur de tendance des températures affiché sur
l'écran indique la tendance des échantillonna es
recueillis dans un site particulier. Trois tendances (en
hausse, stable, en baisse) sont indiquées.

Si la température est inférieure ou supérieure aux
limites des relevés de l'appareil principal ou de
l'appareil à distance, (mentionnées dans les
spécifications), l'afficha e indique “ HHH ” ou “ LLL ”.
INTERPRÉTER L'AFFICHAGE DE L'ONDE
CINÉTIQUE
L'afficha e de l'onde cinétique indique le statut de
réception du si nal de l'appareil principal. Il existe trois
formes possibles :
L'appareil est en mode

Les relevés de température
sont correctement enre istrés.
Aucun si nal.
TEMPERATURES MAXIMUM ET MINIMUM
Les températures intérieures maximum et minimum
enre istrées et celles de chaque canal sont
automatiquement mises en mémoire. Pour les afficher:
1. Sélectionnez le canal à vérifier.
2. Appuyez une fois sur MEMORY pour afficher la
température maximum et une autre fois pour
obtenir la température minimum. Les indicateurs
respectifs MAX ou MIN s'affichent.
Pour effacer les données de la mémoire, appuyez sur
MEMORY sans relâcher pendant deux secondes. Les
températures maximum et minimum sont effacées. Si
vous appuyez de nouveau sur MEMORY, les
températures maximum et minimum ont les mêmes
valeurs que celles actuelles jusqu'à ce que d'autres
relevés soient enre istrés.
SIGNAUX DÉCONNECTÉS
Si, sans raison lo ique, l'afficha e d'un canal particulier
disparaît, appuyez sur CHANNEL et MEMORY pour forcer
une recherche immédiate. En cas d'échec, vérifiez que:
1. L'appareil à distance de ce canal est toujours en
place.
2. Les piles de l'appareil principal et de l'appareil à
distance sont en bon état.
Remplacez-les si nécessaire.
3. La transmission est dans le rayon effectif et le
champ n'est pas entravé par des obstacles ou
des interférences. Réduisez la distance si
nécessaire.
Pour un résultat optimal, utilisez des piles ion / lithium
pour l'appareil à distance si les températures
descendent en dessous de -5 °C (41 °F) ; les autres
types de piles fonctionnent mal à de telles
températures.
OBSTACLES À LA TRANSMISSION
Les si naux d'autres appareils ména ers tels que des
sonnettes, des systèmes de sécurité et commandes
d'entrée peuvent interférer avec ceux de cet appareil
et causer une interruption momentanée de la
réception. Ceci est normal et n'affecte pas le
fonctionnement énéral de l'appareil. La transmission
et la réception de la température reprennent dès que
les interférences disparaissent.
ALTERNER ENTRE °C ET °F
L'unité d'afficha e des températures est sélectionnée
sur le sélecteur °C/°F. Sélectionnez °C pour les de rés
Celsius ou °F pour les de rés Fahrenheit .
L'afficha e de la température à distance
indiqué sur l'appareil principal est contrôlé par le
sélecteur °C/°F sur l'appareil principal. Quelles que
soient les unités d'afficha e des sondes distantes, elles
sont automatiquement converties en fonction de l'unité
choisie sur l'appareil principal.
FONCTIONS DE LA STATION MÉTÉO
Le BAR888 détecte les chan ements de pression
barométrique et l'écran LCD affiche des symboles
météorolo iques indiquant les prévisions météo pour les
12 à 24 prochaines heures, sur un rayon de 30 à 50 km.

1. L'indice de confiance des prévisions météo
basées sur la tendance de la pression est environ
de 70 à 75 pourcent; par conséquent, le fabricant
et ses fournisseurs ne peuvent en aucun cas être
tenus responsables de problèmes causés par des
prévisions météo inexactes.
2. Les symboles des prévisions météo ne reflètent
pas les conditions météo du moment. Ses
symboles représentent une prévision future.
3. Une prévision “ENSOLEILLÉ” pour la nuit
correspond à un ciel dé a é.
INTERPRÉTER LES TENDANCES DE
PRESSION
Le BAR888 donne les tendances de pression pour la
dernière heure. Elles sont représentées par une flèche
affichée en haut à droite de l'afficha e. Une flèche de
tendance montante indique que le temps devrait
s'améliorer ou que celui-ci devrait se détériorer si la
flèche est descendante.

À PROPOS DE LA RÉCEPTION RADIO
Le BAR888 est conçu pour synchroniser automatiquement
l’heure et la date actuelles lorsqu’il se trouve dans un rayon
d’environ 1500 km par rapport au si nal radio émis depuis
Frankfort, en Allema ne (DCF77).
Lorsque le BAR888 est à sa portée, le dispositif radio
piloté remplace tous les ré la es manuels.
Lorsque l'appareil reçoit le si nal radio, le si nal de
réception radio commence à cli noter. Une réception
prend énéralement 2 à 10 minutes, selon la puissance
du si nal radio.
Lorsque la réception est terminée, le si nal de réception
radio cesse de cli noter. L'indicateur de puissance du si nal
pour la dernière heure pleine est affiché.

Pour une réception optimale, placez l'horlo e à l'écart
des objets métalliques ou des appareils électriques
(afin de réduire les interférences).
Si vous souhaitez désactiver la fonction de réception
automatique, appuyez sur le bouton - sans relâcher
pendant trois secondes. Le si nal de réception radio
disparaît. L'appareil ne répond plus aux si naux radio.
Pour réactiver la fonction, appuyez sur le bouton +
sans relâcher pendant trois secondes. Le si nal de
réception radio commence à cli noter pour initialiser
automatiquement la réception.
RÉGLER L'HORLOGE MANUELLEMENT
Pour ré ler l'horlo e manuellement:
1. Appuyez sur MODE / SET sans relâcher jusqu'à
ce que les heures cli notent.
2. Appuyez sur + ou – pour ré ler les heures, puis
appuyez sur MODE / SET pour confirmer.

3. Répétez l'étape 3 pour ré ler les minutes, l'année,
le mois, le jour et la lan ue d'afficha e.
L'heure et la date sont affichées au format
12 heures et mois-jour. Pour la lan ue d'afficha e,
vous avez le choix parmi l'an lais (E), le français (F)
et l'espa nol (S).
Astuces:
•S'il y a un article que vous ne souhaitez pas
modifier, appuyez simplement sur MODE / SET
pour i norer ce ré la e.
•Appuyez sur + ou – sans relâcher pour modifier
plus rapidement une valeur.
RÉGLER ET ACTIVER L'ALARME
Pour ré ler l'alarme.
1. Appuyez une fois sur 24hr OFF pour afficher
l'heure de l'alarme. L'heure de l'alarme ré lée
précédemment s'affiche.
Si vous n'avez jamais ré lé l'alarme auparavant,
12:00am s'affiche.
2. Appuyez sur 24hr OFF pendant trois
secondes. Les chiffres des heures cli notent.
3. Entrez l'heure à l'aide du bouton + ou –.
4. Appuyez sur 24hr OFF. Les chiffres des
minutes cli notent.
5. Entrez les minutes à l'aide du bouton + ou –.
6. Appuyez sur 24hr OFF pour quitter ce mode.
Vous pouvez activer ou désactiver une alarme en
appuyant sur le bouton ON / OFF, l'icône s'affiche
lorsque l'alarme est activée.
ARRÊTER L'ALARME
Pour arrêter une alarme, vous pouvez utiliser le bouton
24hr OFF ou ON / OFF.
•En appuyant sur 24hr OFF vous arrêtez
l'alarme, mais elle reste active et s'enclenche
à la même heure le jour suivant.
•En appuyant sur ON / OFF, vous arrêtez et
désactivez l'alarme.

Wetter orhersage, Mehrkanal-Innen-/Außenthermometer
mit kabelloser 433-MHz-Funksendeeinheit und
Funkkalenderuhr. Die Empfangseinheit BAR888
enthält ein Barometer, Thermometer und eine Funkuhr
und kann Minimal- und Maximaltemperaturen an
erschiedenen Stellen per Übertragung on der
THR128-Thermometerfunksendeeinheit erfolgen. Die
aktuelle Zeit und das Datum werden automatisch
synchronisiert, wenn das Gerät innerhalb eines Radius
on etwa 1500 km um Frankfurt, Deutschland, on
wo das Funksignal (DCF77) gesendet wird, installiert
wird. Die Zeit kann bei Abweichungen auch manuell
eingestellt werden.
