この取扱説明書には、製品の取り扱いかたや安全上の注意事項を示
しています。
• 取扱説明書をよくお読みになり、製品を安全にお使いください。
• お読みになったあとは、いつでも見られるところに必ず保管してくだ

はじめに
 お使いになる前に
製品の取り扱いは、適切な資格を有する人が行なってください。
お使いになる前に、「安全上のご注意」をよくお読みのうえ、正し
くお使いください。
この製品は、一般的な産業機器の機器組み込み用として設計
されています。その他の用途には使用しないでください。また、
電源には、一次側と二次側が強化絶縁された直流電源を使用
してください。この警告を無視した結果生じた損害の補償につ
いては、当社は一切その責任を負いませんので、あらかじめご
了承ください。

この警告事項に反した取り扱いをすると、死亡または重傷を負う
場合がある内容を示しています。
• 爆発性雰囲気、引火性ガスの雰囲気、腐食性の雰囲気、水
のかかる場所、可燃物のそばでは使用しないでください。火
災・けがの原因になります。
• 設置、接続、運転・操作、点検・故障診断の作業は、適切な
資格を有する人が行なってください。火災・けがの原因になり
ます。
• 拘束保護回路がはたらいたときは、電源を切ってください。拘
束状態が解除されたときにファンが突然起動して、けが・装置
破損の原因になります。
• ファンは筐体内に設置してください。けがの原因になります。
• 電源入力電圧は、定格範囲を必ず守ってください。火災の
原因になります。
• 接続図にもとづき、確実に接続してください。火災の原因に
なります。
• ケーブルを無理に曲げたり、引っ張ったり、挟み込まないでく
ださい。火災の原因になります。
• 電源には、一次側と二次側が強化絶縁された直流電源を使
用してください。感電の原因になります。
• 停電したときは、電源を切ってください。停電復旧時にファン
が突然起動して、けが・装置破損の原因になります。
• ファンを分解・改造しないでください。けがの原因になります。
内部の点検や修理は、お買い上げになった支店または営業
所に連絡してください。

• ファンの仕様値を超えて使用しないでください。けが・装置破
損の原因になります。
• ファンの開口部に指や物を入れないでください。けがの原因
になります。
• ファンの回転部（羽根）やリード線を持たないでください。けが
の原因になります。
• ファンの周囲に、可燃物を置かないでください。火災・やけど
の原因になります。
• ファンの周囲に、通風を妨げる障害物を置かないでください。
装置破損の原因になります。
• ファンを設置するときは静電対策を行なってください。装置破
損の原因になります。
• 運転中は回転部（羽根）に触れないでください。けがの原因
になります。オプションのフィンガーガードなど使って保護し
てください。
• 異常が発生したときは、ただちに運転を停止して、電源を
切ってください。火災・けがの原因になります。
• ファンを廃棄するときは、できるだけ分解し、産業廃棄物とし
て処理してください。

設 置
 設置場所
ファンは機器組み込み用に設計、製造されています。
風通しがよく、点検が容易な次のような場所に設置してください。
• 屋内に設置された筐体内（換気口を設けてください）
• 使用周囲温度 –10～+60 °C（凍結しないこと）
• 使用周囲湿度 85%以下（結露しないこと）
• 爆発性雰囲気、有害なガス（硫化ガスなど）、および液体のな
いところ
• 直射日光が当たらないところ
• 塵埃や鉄粉などの少ないところ
• 水（雨や水滴）、油（油滴）、およびその他の液体がかからな
いところ
• 連続的な振動や過度の衝撃が加わらないところ
• 放射性物質や磁場がなく、真空でないところ
• 電磁ノイズ（溶接機、動力機器など）が少ないところ
スイッチング回路や高周波電源の近くで使用すると、電磁ノ
イズ（伝導ノイズ、放射ノイズ）の影響で、誘導電流がファンの
内部に流れる場合があります。誘導電流が流れるとファンの
軸受けに電食が発生し、異常音や寿命低下の原因になりま
す。電磁ノイズの影響がない環境で使用してください。
 設置方法
ファンは耐振動性にすぐれ、熱伝導効果が高い平滑な金属板
に設置してください。使用する機器に取付穴をあけ、ねじでファ
ンを固定してください。
風の方向と回転方向は、ファンフレーム側面の表示をご覧くだ
さい。

接続と運転
ファンのリード線は、赤、黒、茶、黄の 4本です。次のように接続
してください。

 速度制御線の接続
入力するパルス信号のデューティに応じて回転速度が変わりま
す。ON デューティが大きくなると回転速度が速くなり、風量－静
圧が大きくなります。

拘束時の焼損保護
ファンは焼損防止回路を内蔵しています。拘束状態を検知する
と、巻線に流れる電流を自動的に制御するため、拘束によって
ファンが焼損することはありません。拘束状態が解除されると、
自動で運転を再開します。点検するときは、必ず電源を切って
ください。

Thank you for purchasing an Oriental Motor product.
This Operating Manual describes product handling procedures and
safety precautions.
• Please read it thoroughly to ensure safe operation.
• Always keep the manual where it is readily available.
Introduction
 Before using the fan
Only qualified personnel should work with the product.
Use the product correctly after thoroughly reading the section
“Safety precautions.”
The product described in this manual has been designed and
manufactured for use in general industrial machinery, and must not
be used for any other purpose. For the power supply use a DC
power supply with reinforced insulation on its primary and
secondary sides. Oriental Motor Co., Ltd. is not responsible for any
damage caused through failure to observe this warning.

Safety precautions
The precautions described below are intended to prevent danger or
injury to the user and other personnel through safe, correct use of
the product. Use the product only after carefully reading and fully
understanding these instructions.
Warning
Handling the product without observing the instructions that
accompany a “Warning” symbol may result in serious injury or
death.
• Do not use the product in explosive or corrosive environments, in
the presence of flammable gases,locations subjected to splashing
water, or near combustibles. Doing so may result in fire or injury.
• Assign qualified personnel the task of installing, wiring,
operating/controlling, inspecting and troubleshooting the product.
Failure to do so may result in fire or injury.
• Shut off the power to the fan in the event the lock-protection
circuit is activated. Otherwise, the fan will start unexpectedly
when released from the locked condition, causing bodily injury or
equipment damage.
• Install the fan in an enclosure in order to prevent injury.
• Keep the input-power voltage within the specified range to avoid
fire.
• Connect the cables securely according to the wiring diagram in
order to prevent fire.
• Do not forcibly bend, pull or pinch the cable. Doing so may fire.
• For the power supply use a DC power supply with reinforced
insulation on its primary and secondary sides. Failure to do so
may result in electric shock.
• Turn off the power in the event of a power failure, or the fan will
suddenly start when the power is restored and may cause injury
or damage to equipment.
• Do not disassemble or modify the fan. This may cause injury.
Refer all such internal inspections and repairs to the branch or
sales office from which you purchased the product.
Caution
Handling the product without observing the instructions that
accompany a “Caution” symbol may result in injury or property
damage.
• Do not use the fan beyond its specifications, or injury or damage
to equipment may result.
• Keep your fingers and objects out of the openings in the fan. This
may cause injury.
• Do not hold the rotating parts (blades) of the fan or lead wire. This
may cause injury.
• Keep the area around the fan free of combustible materials in
order to prevent fire or a skin burn(s).
• To prevent the risk of damage to equipment, leave nothing
around the fan that would obstruct ventilation.
• Provide anti-static measures before installing the fan. Failure to
do so may result in equipment damage.
• Do not touch the rotating parts (blades) when the fan is in
operation. This may cause injury. The use of the optional
fingerguard is recommended to ensure protection.

• To dispose of the fan, disassemble it into parts and components
as much as possible and dispose of individual parts/components
as industrial waste.

included. Report any missing or damaged items to the branch or
sales office from which you purchased the product.

Installation
 Location for installation
The fan is designed and manufactured for installation in equipment.
Install it in a well-ventilated location that provides easy access for
inspection. The location must also satisfy the following conditions:
• Inside an enclosure that is installed indoors (provide vent holes)
• Operating ambient temperature
−10 to +60 °C (+14 to +140 °F) (non-freezing)
• Operating ambient humidity 85% or less (non-condensing)
• Area that is free of explosive atmosphere or toxic gas (such as
sulfuric gas) or liquid
• Area not exposed to direct sun
• Area free of excessive amount of dust, iron particles or the like
• Area not subject to splashing water (rains, water droplets), oil (oil
droplets) or other liquids
• Area not subject to continuous vibration or excessive shocks
• Area free of radioactive materials, magnetic fields or vacuum
• Area free of excessive electromagnetic noise (from welders,
power machinery, etc.)
When using near a switching circuit or high-frequency power
supply, the induced current may flow inside the fan due to
electromagnetic noise (conductive noise, radiative noise). If the
induced current flows, the electric corrosion is caused in the
bearings of the fan. As a result, it may generate the noise or
shorten the service life of the products. Use the fan in the
environment that the electromagnetic noise does not cause.
 How to install the fan
Install the fan onto an appropriate flat metal plate having excellent
vibration resistance and heat conductivity.
Drill holes on the mounting plate and fix the fun on the plate using
screws (not supplied).
For air orientation and rotational direction, see the indications
shown on the fan’s side frame.

Connection and operation
This fan motor has 4 lead wires (color: red, black, brown, yellow).
Connect the lead wires as follows.

 Connecting the speed control line
The rotating speed varies in response to the duty cycle of the input
pulse signal. As the duty cycle increases, the rotating speed is
faster and air flow-static pressure is larger.
Use the PWM signal at the following conditions.
Frequency: 25 kHz
Voltage: 5.25 VDC or less
Duty cycle: 0 to 100%

The yellow wire is lead wire for the pulse output. GND is common
to the sensor and power supply.

Overheat protection
The fan is equipped with an internal protective circuit against
overheating. In the event a lock-up condition is detected, this
function automatically controls the current flow to the fan motor’s
windings, thus preventing the fan blades from locking and burning
out. The fan resumes operation automatically as soon as it is
released from the locked condition. Be sure to shut off the power to
the fan before performing an inspection.
