SAFETY
The lightning ash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle
is intended to alert the user to the presence of un-insulated “danger-
ous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufcient
magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert
the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance
(servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.
This product was designed and manufactured to meet strict quality and safety standards. There are, however,some
installation and operation precautions, which you should be particularly aware of.

WARNING
1. Read and keep these instructions. Heed all warnings and follow all Instructions.
2. Do not use this apparatus near water.
3. Clean only with dry cloth.
4. Do not block any ventilation openings . Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Do not install this
equipment in a conned or “boxed-in” space such as a bookcase or similar unit, and maintain good ventilation conditions.
The ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items such as newspaper, tablecloths,
curtains, etc.
5. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including ampliers)
that produce heat. Do not place exposed ame sources such as lighted candles on the apparatus.
6. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug . A polarized plug has two blades with one wider
than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is pro-
vided for your safety. If the provided plug does not t into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete
outlet.
7. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point
where they exit from the apparatus.
8. Only use attachment/accessories specied by the manufacturer.
9. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
10. Refer all servicing to qualied service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any

way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the
apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
11. Power Sources: This product should be connected to a power supply only of the type described in these operating
instructions, or as marked on the unit.
12. Water and Moisture: This product should be kept away from direct contact with liquids. The apparatus shall not be
exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects lled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.
13. Protective earthing terminal: The apparatus should be connected to a mains socket outlet with a protective earthing
connection.

14. When moving or not using the appliance, secure the power cord (e.g., wrap it with a cable tie). Be careful not to damage
the power cord. Before using it again, make sure the power cord has not been damaged. If the power cord has been dam-
aged at all, bring the unit and cord to a qualied service technician for repair or replacement as specied by the manufacturer.
• Disconnect power cord before servicing.
• Replace critical components. only with factory parts or recommended equivalents.
• For AC line powered units: Before returning repaired unit to user, use an ohmmeter to measure from both AC plug blades to
all exposed metal parts. The resistance should be more than 2,000,000 ohms.
CAUTION (for U.S.A. & CANADIAN models only): TO PREVENT ELECTRIC SHOCK DO NOT USE THIS (POLARIZED)
PLUG WITH AN EXTENSION CORD, RECEPTACLE OR OTHER OUTLET UNLESS THE BLADES CAN BE FULLY
INSERTED TO PREVENT BLADE EXPOSURE.
IMPORTANT NOTES
To prevent the occurrence of noise on line signal cables, use screened cables only and avoid putting them close to:
- Equipment that produces high-intensity electromagnetic elds
- Power cables
- Loudspeaker lines.
The equipments considered in this manual can be used in electromagnetic environment E1 to E3 as specied on
EN 55103-1/2: 2009.
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
- Place this product far from any heat sources and always ensure an adequate air circulation around it.
- Do not overload this product for a long time.
- Never force the control elements (keys, knobs, etc. ).
- Do not use solvents, alcohol, benzene or other volatile substances for cleaning the external parts of this product.

ence. The manual is to be considered an integral part of this product and must accompany it when it changes ownership as a

AB5 Monitors provide a universal 90-240V internal power supply. On the rear panel there are also the input and
output level controls. Insert the power connector and the signal connector, but before turning on the speaker,
make sure to select the power supply voltage corresponding to that of the country where the device is used, and
that the volume control is at minimum on both the speaker and the sound source connected to the speakers; it is
also important that the sound source is already on when the speaker connected to it is turned on.
(avoiding causing damage to the speaker itself but above all to people in front of it), also avoiding the annoying
“bump” caused by the switching on of the audio equipment upstream of the speakers. In fact, it is a good rule that
switched off at the end of their use.
At this point you can turn on the speaker and raise the level control up to the marker line on the scale between “0”
and “MAX”, and then correct the level as needed.

WARRANTY
OSD Audio electronics have (2) year Limited Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Proof of
purchase must accompany all claims. During the warranty period OSD Audio will replace any defective part and
correct any defect in workmanship without charge for either parts or labor.
OSD Audio may replace returned electronics with a product of equal value and performance. In such cases, some
modications to the mounting may be necessary and are not OSD Audio ’s responsibility.
For this warranty to apply, the unit must be installed and used according to its written instructions. If necessary,
repairs must be performed by OSD Audio . The unit must be returned to OSD Audio at the owner’s expense and
with prior written permission. Accidental damage and shipping damage are not considered defects, nor is damaged
resulting from abuse or from servicing performed by an agency or person not specically authorized in writing by
OSD Audio.
OSD Audio sells products only through authorized dealers and distributors to ensure that customers obtain proper
support and service. Any OSD Audio product purchased from an unauthorized dealer or other source, including
retailers, mail order dealers and online sellers will not be honored or serviced under existing
OSD Audio warranty policy. Any sale of product by an unauthorized source or other manner not
authorized by OSD Audio shall void the warranty on the applicable product.
Damage to or destruction of components due to application of excessive power voids the warranty on those parts.
In these cases, repairs will be made on the basis of the retail value of the parts and labor. To return for repairs,
you must email customer service at [email protected] for a Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA)
number then the unit must be shipped to OSD Audio at the owner’s expense, along with a note explaining the nature
of service required. Be sure to pack the product(s) in a corrugated container with at least 3 inches of resilient material
to protect the unit from damage in transit.
This Warranty Does Not Cover: Damage caused by abuse, accident, misuse, negligence, or improper operation
(installation) • Any products that have been altered or modied • Any product whose identifying number of decal,
serial #, etc. has been altered, defaced or removed • Normal wear and maintenance.
