MODEL INFORMATION SHEET
A/V Surround Receiver
Model 1050
The First Affordable 6.1 Channel A/V Surround Receiver with
Dolby Digital and DTS Decoding
If you’ve seen The Phantom Menace, Gladiator,
X-Men, or The World Is Not Enough in the theater,
you’ve heard what 6.1-channel sound can do. Its
extra rear channel delivers dramatically more realis-
tic sound effects—spaceships flying over your head,
ghosts circling the room, gunshots ricocheting behind
you. Audio critics have been “blown away” by 6.1,
and we think you will be, too.
The Model 1050 uses a proprietary 6.1-channel
processing algorithm developed by Outlaw and
chipmaker Zoran Corporation. This processing is
100-percent compatible with all Dolby™Surround
EX™6.1-channel theatrical soundtracks. In addition,
the Outlaw 6.1 circuitry can add excitement to many
non-EX encoded 5.1-channel Dolby Digital
soundtracks. Outlaw’s customers have reported
astounding results with non-EX movies such as
Independence Day and Star Trek—First Contact.
The Model 1050 also decodes regular Dolby Digital
and DTS soundtracks, and includes Dolby Pro Logic
processing for for use with other Dolby Surround
encoded programming such as VHS tapes a wide vari-
ety of network and syndicated TV shows. The Model
1050 includes inputs for four audio/video sources and
three audio-only sources, and its three digital audio
inputs that make it compatible with the latest video
technologies, such as DVD, satellite receivers and
HDTV. The 1050 also offers S-video inputs and out-
puts to preserve the superb picture quality of DVDs and
satellite TV.
T
he Outlaw Model 1050 is the affordable receiver that
gives you 6.1-channel sound—the latest and most exciting new
development in home theater.
The list of features on our
Model 1050 is usually only
found on much more expensive
A/V receivers. They include:

processing for Dolby Digital
®
■Dolby Digital
®
, DTS
®
and Dolby
Pro Logic
®
■6 x 65 watts “discrete”

In addition to conventional left/right analog and op-
tical and coax digital inputs, the Model 1050 has a
5.1-channel direct input for forward compatibility with
new multi-channel audio formats such as DVD-Au-
dio and Super Audio CD. This analog-direct input also
enables you to bypass the internal digital processing
for pure reproduction of CD or connection to an ex-
ternal phono premap. As
a bonus, you can even
use the Model 1050’s 6.1-
channel processing with
these new formats—just
hit the 6.1 button, and
the receiver will create an
extra rear channel from
5.1-channel software.
There’s a lot more to like
about the Model 1050 be-
sides the surround sound
processing. Take a peek
through the vents in the
top and you’ll see that the build quality of this re-
ceiver resembles what you’d get with a high-end am-
plifier rather than what you’d expect from a receiver.
The Model 1050’s hefty power supply delivers 65 watts
to each of its six channels, and a massive heat sink
ensures cool-running reliability. Real gold-plated, five-
way binding posts that accept large gauge speaker
wire—a feature found on no other A/V receiver in
this price range—ensure a solid connection for your
speaker cables.
The Model 1050 is far easier to operate than a typical,
“covered-with-buttons” A/V receiver. You can do the
entire setup from either the front panel or the remote,
and you can adjust
any setting “on the
fly.” The backlit,
eight-device pro-
grammable universal
remote has an large
library of built-in IR
codes so it can be pro-
grammed to control
almost any home the-
ater product.
If the Model 1050 was
on the shelf of an A/V
dealer, it would sell for
about $1000 (still be a great bargain). However, since
the Outlaws sell the 1050 direct to you, there’s no
dealer markup. We believe that the Model 1050, is the
best receiver value in the world of home theater. We
offer you the chance to find out for yourself with a
30-day money-back guarantee. See what the critics
and your fellow consumers are raving about.
