USER GUIDE
ank you for choosing OVATION Hearing and congratu-
lations on taking control of your hearing health.
While no hearing device can restore normal hearing health
or prevent or improve a hearing impairment, the OVATION
Boost can improve the quality of your life by making sounds
easier to hear. Here are a few tips to help you get the most
benets from your OVATION Boost:
If you have never worn a hearing aid before, there may be
an adjustment period of up to a few weeks before you can
begin to enjoy all the benets that OVATION oers. Be
patient as you adjust to wearing your OVATION and begin
hearing sounds that you previously had been missing. We
recommend that you start by only wearing your Boost unit
for an hour or two a day and gradually extend the period of
time as you get more comfortable.
1

Your OVATION Boost comes equipped with an easy to use
volume control and is pre-programmed with 4 dierent
hearing settings. We recommend that you start your ad-
justment period in relatively quiet environments, but as you
get more comfortable, we encourage you to also experiment
with the dierent hearing settings to nd the best option for
you in dierent listening environments.
In all environments – but especially in noisy ones – you may
nd it helpful to face the individual speaking to you or to sit
or stand near the source of the sound.
ank you again for choosing OVATION. Please read the

BATTERY
Your OVATION Boost uses a size 13A battery.
Please use high-quality batteries because they are more
consistent in size. Lesser-quality batteries can vary in size –
even by only 1 or 2 millimeters – making them unusable in
your OVATION Boost.
Pulling o the plastic sticker activates the battery. Do not pull
the tab o until you need to use the battery. e batteries may
take up 2 minutes to fully activate aer the tab is removed.
With proper use and care, each battery should last about 1 week.

battery needs to be replaced.

WEARING YOUR OVATION BOOST
On/O Switch

access to the battery, but also serves as the On/O switch.
ON: Simply close the battery door.
OFF: Open the battery door when you are not wearing your
OVATION Boost to turn the unit o and conserve battery
life. Opening the battery door also allows internal mois-
ture to evaporate which keeps the OVATION electronics
working well.

11
Placing the unit in the ear
First, look for the colored marking on the ear tube. A blue
mark indicates that the unit is for the le ear and a red mark
indicates that unit is for the right ear.
Next, place your OVATION Boost over the top of your ear
until it rests securely behind your ear.
While holding your OVATION Boost in place, insert the ear
tip into the ear canal, and curl/tuck the retention loop along
the body of your ear.
Note: You may nd it helpful to use a mirror the rst few times you are
placing or removing your OVATION Boost.

VOLUME ADJUSTMENT
You can control the loudness of sounds you are hearing
by utilizing the volume control wheel on your OVATION
Boost.
e volume control is marked with numbers indicating the
magnitude of volume. 1 represents minimum volume and 4
represents maximum volume.
Rotate the volume control upwards
(increasing the number) to increase
the loudness of sounds.
Rotate the volume control down-
wards (decreasing the number) to
decrease the loudness of sounds.
Note: Volume settings 1 and 4 are the minimum and maximum settings.
Attempting to rotate the volume control wheel past those settings may
result in damage to the device.

16
TROUBLESHOOTING
If you are having mechanical problems with your
OVATION Boost, rst check the following:
• Battery is inserted correctly and the battery door is
closed tightly.
• Ear tip is clean and clear of wax and ear tube is attached
properly.
• Microphone and hearing port is clean and clear of wax.
• Battery may need replacing.
Note: Leaving the battery on in your unit overnight will shorten
battery life; exposing your unit to dampness – by storing it in the
bathroom or other areas with high humidity – can also shorten
battery life and eventually damage the instrument.

17

CARING FOR YOUR OVATION
Ear wax is natural and common, but is the number one
cause of performance issues with your unit. It is important
to keep your hearing aid as clean as possible. Wipe daily
with a dry cloth or using the cleaning brush that was includ-
ed with your OVATION to carefully remove any traces of
wax and debris.
Do not rinse or submerge your OVATION in water. In fact
do not not use water, alcohol or any other liquid agent to
clean your unit as they may damage it. If your device does
become wet, do not use an external heat source to dry it.
Rather, open the batter door, remove the battery, and let the
device dry naturally for 24 hours.
Remove your OVATION before using hair spray, spray per-
fumes or shaving lotions as these items can clog or damage
your unit.
18

19
Do not drop your OVATION Boost or bang it against hard
surfaces.
Always be careful when opening and closing the battery
door. Do not carry the unit by the battery door, do not
remove the unit by pulling on the battery door, and never
pull the door back father than what is necessary to insert or
remove a battery.
When you’re not wearing your OVATION Boost, open the
battery door to save on battery life and to allow any internal
moisture to evaporate. Store your unit in a safe, dry place
that is away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
