the engine off and then shut off
gas supply to the engine. Do not
set the spray handle down without
turning off the engine.
Vibration Hazard:
This tool vibrates during use.

to the hands, arms and shoulders. To
reduce the risk of vibration-related

Keep the high pressure hose5.
connected to the pressure washer
and spray Gun while the system
is pressurized. Disconnecting the
pressure hose while the unit is
pressurized is dangerous, and may
cause injury.
Do not allow the high pressure hose6.
to come in contact with any hot
part of the unit. The hose might be
damaged, possibly causing it to burst
or leak under high pressure.
Maintain labels and nameplates7.
on the equipment. These carry
important information. If unreadable
or missing, contact Harbor Freight
Tools for a replacement.
If water is leaking out of the Pressure8.
Washer immediately turn off the
unit. Unplug the Pressure Washer,
and discharge all pressure before
tightening ttings or having repair
work done by a qualied technician.
When the engine is running, do not9.
allow the Pressure Washer to remain
idle for more than two minutes. If
allowed to remain idle, the water in
the unit will heat up, possibly causing
damage to the Pressure Washer.
Have the equipment serviced by a10.
qualied repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This
will ensure that the safety of the
equipment is maintained. Do not
attempt any service or maintenance
procedures not explained in this
manual or any procedures that you
are uncertain about your ability to
perform safely or correctly.

engine is warranted for standards set by
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and by the California Air Resources Board
(also known as CARB). For warranty
information, refer to the last pages of this
manual.
At high altitudes, the engine’s
carburetor, governor (if so equipped), and
any other parts that control the fuel-air
ratio will need to be adjusted by a qualied
mechanic to allow efcient high-altitude
use and to prevent damage to the engine
and any other devices used with this
product.
UNPACKING
When unpacking, check to make sure
that the item is intact and undamaged. If
any parts are missing or broken, please
call Harbor Freight Tools at the number
shown on the cover of this manual as soon
as possible.
SET UP INSTRUCTIONS

Turn the Power Switch of the
equipment to its “OFF”
position, wait for the engine to
cool, and unplug the spark
plug wire(s) before
assembling or making any
adjustments to the equipment.
Note: For additional information regarding
the parts listed in the following pages,
refer to the Assembly Diagram near
the end of this manual.
Assembly
This equipment has a spark1.
arresting mufer included. A spark
arresting mufer is required by law
in California, on some US Forest
Service land, and possibly in other
areas or situations.
Attach the Handle (14) onto the2.
Frame (17) with the Handle Bolts (15)
and Nuts (16).
Attach the Hose (18) to the Hose3.
Connection on the unit. (See picture
on the next page.)
Pull the Collar at the end of the hose4.
back and attach the Gun (19) to the
hose.
Screw the Wand (20) onto the Gun5.
and secure with the grommet.

Choose the right Nozzle (5) for the6.
job. Pull back the quick connect
collar and push the Nozzle onto the
end of the Wand. Make sure the
quick connect collar locks the Nozzle
in place.

Water Inlet Connection. The water
source must be able to provide a
minimum of ve gallons of clean, cold
water per minute at 20 PSI. Only
use a hose that is rated to meet this
capacity.
If using detergent:
Read detergent directions. Connect8.
one end of the Detergent Inlet Hose
(8) to the Detergent Inlet Connection,
and the other end into the container
holding the detergent. Only use
detergents specied for use with
Pressure Washers. The Pressure
Washer will draw one gallon of
detergent for every seven gallons
of water. Only use the Black (low
pressure) Nozzle when spraying
detergents.

Starting the Engine
Inspect engine and equipment
looking for damaged, loose,
and missing parts before
set up and starting. If any
problems are found, do not use
equipment until xed properly.
Checking Engine Oil Level
CAUTION! Your Warranty is VOID if the
engine’s crankcase is not properly
lled with oil before each use. Before
each use, check the oil level. Do not
run the engine with low or no engine
oil. Running the engine with no or
low engine oil WILL permanently
damage the engine.
Clean the Oil Filler Cap and the area1.
around it.
Remove the Oil Filler Cap2.
If the oil level is low, add the3.
appropriate type of oil until the oil
level is at the top lip.
Oil type:
32° F or above = SAE 10W-30
Below 32° F = SAE 5W-30.
Replace the Oil Filler Cap.4.

CAUTION! Do not run the engine with too
little or too much oil. The engine will
be permanently damaged.
Pump Oil Change Before First Use
The pump may be shipped with some1.
oil inside. Open the Oil Drain Plug
and drain out the shipping oil.
Replace the Oil Drain Plug and2.
tighten it securely in place.
Remove the Oil Inlet Plug and ll the 3.
pump with 5 -oz of SAE 10W-30 oil.
Replace the Oil Inlet Plug.4.
Change the Pump oil after the rst 5.
20 hours of use, and after every 50
hours of use thereafter.
Checking Fuel Level
WARNING! To prevent re,
shut the engine off and wait
for it to cool before adding
fuel. Do not smoke.
Clean the Fuel Filler Cap and the1.
area around it.
To Check the fuel level, unscrew and1.
remove the Fuel Filler Cap.
Mix fuel stabilizer (not included)2.
with 86 octane (or better) unleaded
gasoline according to fuel stabilizer
directions.
Fill the Fuel Tank to about 1 inch3.
under the lip of the gasoline tank
with the stabilized unleaded gasoline
mixture.
Then replace the Fuel Filler Cap.4.
Start Procedure
Before starting the engine:
Follow the Set Upa.
Instructions to prepare the
equipment.
Inspect the equipment andb.
engine.
Fill the engine with thec.
proper amount and type of
both fuel and oil.
Read the Equipmentd.
Operation section that
follows.
Turn the fuel valve lever to its1.
“OPEN” position.
Turn the ignition switch to its ON or2.
RUN position.
Then, turn the engine choke lever to3.
its “CHOKE” position. Set the choke
lever in the “RUN” position when
starting a warm engine.
Grasp the starter handle, and pull4.
slowly until resistance is felt. While
holding the handle, allow the starter
rope to rewind slowly. Then, pull the
starter handle with a rapid, full arm
stroke. Once again while holding
the handle, allow the rope to rewind
slowly. Repeat as necessary, until
the engine starts.
After the engine starts and warms5.
up, slowly move the choke lever to its
“RUN” position.
IMPORTANT: Allow the engine to6.
run at no load for ve minutes with no
load after each start-up so that the
engine can stabilize.

Break-in Period
Breaking-in the engine will help to1.
ensure proper equipment and engine
operation.
The operational break-in period will2.
last about 3 hours of use. During this
period:
Do not apply a heavy load to the•
equipment.
Do not operate the engine at its•
maximum speed.
The maintenance break-in period will3.
last about 20 hours of use. After this
period:
Change the engine oil.•
Under normal operating conditions
subsequent maintenance follows
the schedule explained in the
MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
section.
Equipment Operation
Choose the Nozzle that best meets1.
the needs of the job. Only use the
Nozzles on surfaces capable of
withstanding the force of the spray
Red Nozzle - direct spray stream.•
This Nozzle should only be used
on hard surfaces such as concrete
or metal. This Nozzle can damage
wood.
Yellow Nozzle - 15° spray range.•
This Nozzle is used to clean small
areas.
Green Nozzle - 25° spray range.•
This Nozzle can be used to clean
larger areas.
White Nozzle - 40° spray range.•
This Nozzle can be used to clean
very large areas.
Black Nozzle - This Nozzle is used•
with pressure washer detergent.
Never direct spray
from the pressure
washer at a person or an
animal. The water stream
could cause serious injury.
Only use the
pressure washer
on surfaces capable of
withstanding the force of the
spray.
Only use the Black
Nozzle when using
pressure washer detergent.
The power of the other
Nozzles will propel mist back
at the operator and can imbed
the detergent into the surface.
Pull back the quick connect collar and2.
push the Nozzle onto the end of the
Wand. Make sure the quick connect
collar locks the Nozzle in place.
Turn the water supply on and hold3.
down the Trigger to start the stream.
Be aware that when it is rst started,
the gun will kick.
It is best to start at a low pressure4.
setting, and adjust the pressure
upwards. Test spray the edge of
the surface to be cleaned rst to
make sure that the stream is not
too strong for the surface. If the
stream damages the surface turn the
Pressure Regulator Knob towards the
“—” to reduce the pressure. Moving
further away from the surface being
cleaned will also reduce the pressure
being applied to the surface. If the
stream is still too strong. Turn the
water supply off, turn the engine off,

discharge the excess pressure from
the gun by squeezing the Trigger, and
change to a lower pressure Nozzle.
To increase the pressure, turn the5.
Pressure Regulator Knob towards the
“+” symbol.
Hold the Wand at about a 45°6.
angle when cleaning; spraying the
surface directly could embed dirt
into the surface (especially with the
high pressure Nozzles). Spray at a
distance of about three to ve feet.
Clean vertical and sloped surfaces•
from the top down.
When cleaning horizontal surfaces,•
occasionally use the stream to clear
the area of excess water to improve
safety.
Never allow the
Pressure Washer
to idle, without the Trigger
held down, for more than two
minutes. The water will heat
up and could damage the
Pressure Washer.
Hold the Trigger down and move7.

Engine Oil Change
CAUTION! Oil is very hot during
operation and can cause burns. Wait
for engine to cool before changing oil.
Place a drain pan (not included)1.
underneath the crankcase’s drain
plug.
Remove the drain plug and, if2.
possible, tilt the crankcase slightly to
help drain the oil out. Recycle used
oil.
Replace the drain plug and tighten it.3.
Rell the oil to the proper level 4.
following the instructions under the

Air Filter Element Maintenance
The air cleaner cover is held in place1.
by a wing nut or clamps. Remove it.
Remove the air lter element.2.

the air lter.
If this does not get the lter
reasonably clean, replace it.

Wash the element in warm water
and mild detergent several times.
Rinse. Squeeze out excess water
and allow it to dry completely. Soak
the lter in lightweight oil briey, then
squeeze out the excess oil.
Install the new lter or the cleaned 4.
lter. Secure the Air Cleaner Cover
before use.
Spark Plug Maintenance
Disconnect spark plug wire from1.
end of plug. Clean out debris from
around spark plug.
Using a spark plug wrench, remove2.
the spark plug.
Inspect the spark plug:3.
If the electrode is oily, clean it using a
clean, dry rag.
If the electrode has deposits on it,
polish it using emery paper.
If the white insulator is cracked or
chipped, the spark plug needs to be
replaced.
When installing a new spark4.
plug, adjust the plug’s gap to the
specication on the Technical
specication chart. Do not pry
against the electrode, the spark plug
can be damaged.
Install the new spark plug or the5.
cleaned spark plug into the engine.
Gasket-style: Finger-tighten until the
gasket contacts the cylinder head,
then about 1/2-2/3 turn more.
Non-gasket-style: Finger-tighten until
the plug contacts the head, then
about 1/16 turn more.
Apply dielectric spark plug boot6.
protector (not included) to the end of
the spark plug and reattach the wire
securely.
Fuel Filter Replacement (if equipped)
WARNING! RISK OF FIRE
OR EXPLOSION. Replace the
fuel lter in a well-ventilated
area away from ignition

Wait for engine to cool completely1.

Wear protective gear including, ANSI-2.

to allow all residual fuel vapors to

start the engine while the smell of
