The PadernoTM 3-cup Food Chopper is
small but mighty, performing a variety of
food prep tasks with ease. The powerful
motor and vortex blade design chops even
the most stubborn pieces of food. Multiple
chop settings allow you to easily control
the consistency of your results – from a
coarse chop for chunky salsa, to a ine
puree for creamy pesto! The compact and
lightweight design is the perfect size for
everyday use.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1. Read all instructions before using.
Save these instructions for future
reference.
2. This appliance must only be used
by a responsible adult. Use and
store the appliance out of reach of
children.
3. DO NOT put the motor unit in any
liquid. DO NOT use the appliance
in a bathroom, near water, or
outdoors.
4. DO NOT open the appliance until
the blades have stopped moving.
5. Take great care when handling the
blade unit.
6. The motor will not operate unless
the appliance has been properly
assembled. This is a safety feature –
DO NOT try to overcome it.
7. Unplug before dismantling or
cleaning.
8. Place the power cord so it does not
overhang, and can’t be tripped over
or pulled.
9. DO NOT leave the appliance
unattended while it is plugged in.
10. DO NOT ill with anything hotter
than what you can comfortably
handle. Temperature should be less
than 40°C (104°F).
11. DO NOT try to chop ice, take great
care with the blades.
12. DO NOT run the motor for more
than 1 minute at a time. Let
appliance cool down for one minute
before using it again.
13. DO NOT use any attachments or
accessories that are not supplied
by the appliance manufacturer.
14. DO NOT use the appliance for other
than its intended use.
15. Keep the appliance and the cable
away from hotplates, stovetops or
burners.
16. DO NOT operate the appliance if it
is damaged or it malfunctions. The
appliance should not be repaired or
opened by an unlicensed person.
Refer to the “Our Guarantee”
section regarding the product’s
warranty before returning the
appliance to the point of purchase.
17. DO NOT use the appliance if the
supply cord is damaged.
18. This appliance is not intended for
use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or
instructions concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible
for their safety. Close supervision
is necessary when any appliance is
used by or near children. Children
should be supervised to ensure that
they DO NOT play with the appliance.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions

19. Turn the appliance o and
disconnect from the power supply
before changing accessories. Avoid
contacting moving parts. To unplug,
grasp the plug and pull from the
outlet. Never pull from the
power cord.
20. Be cautious when handling the sharp
cutting blades, emptying the bowl
and during cleaning.
21. DO NOT let cord hang over edge of
table or counter.
22. To reduce the risk of injury, never
place the cutting blade on the base
without securing it properly in place.
23. Ensure that the cover is securely
locked in place before operating
appliance.
24. DO NOT attempt to override the
cover interlock mechanism.
25. Keep hands and utensils away from
the cutting blade while chopping
food to reduce the risk of severe
injury to persons or damage to the
food chopper. A scraper may be used
but only when the food chopper is
not running.

Technical Information
Polarized plug
This appliance has a polarized plug
(one blade is wider than the other). To
reduce the risk of electric shock, the
plug will it in a polarized outlet only
one way. If the plug does not fully it the
outlet, reverse the plug and reinsert. If
it still does not it, contact a qualiied
electrician.
DO NOT modify the plug in any way.
UL982 Requirement
The conformity according to UL982 was
veriied using the following:
1pc egg + 100g frosting sugar + 120g
barley sugar
Operation: 15 seconds ON, 1 minute
OFF, for 3 cycles.

Before First Use
Refer to the Cleaning & Maintenance
section of this manual. Clean the
appliance and attachments thoroughly
before irst use.
Caution! To reduce the risk of
electrical shock, DO NOT put Chopper
Base in water or other liquid. Caution!
The blades are very sharp.
How to Use
1. Place the Chopper Base on a lat,
dry surface such as a kitchen
counter. Position the Chopping
Bowl onto the Chopper Base, then
turn the Chopping Bowl until the
interlock switch locks in to the
base. The chopper motor will not
operate unless the Chopping Bowl
is locked into position correctly.
2. Place the Blade Shaft into the
Chopping Bowl and turn irmly into
position.
3. Put the food/liquids into the
Chopping Bowl.
a) DO NOT ill Chopping Bowl above
the maximum ill mark.
b) DO NOT process large amounts
in batches – if you need to process
large amounts, a larger processor
is required.
c) DO NOT process hard foods – i.e.
anything you can’t cut easily with a
kitchen knife.
4. Place the Lid onto the Chopping
Bowl and turn clockwise to lock
it. Locking the Lid correctly will
align the interlock actuator and
Chopping Bowl interlock switch,
allowing the motor to run.
5. Plug the power cord into a 120V
power outlet.
6. Turn the Dynamic Control Dial left
(min speed 1) or right (max speed
2) to select your desired speed,
and then press and hold down
the chrome ring on the lid while
processing food.
Note: When processing food, watch
processing at all times to avoid over
processing.
DO NOT run the motor for more
than 1 minute at a time.
7. When you have reached your
desired result, release the chrome
ring on the lid to shut o the motor
and stop processing.

After Operation
1. Unplug the appliance.
2. Remove the Chopping Bowl from
the Chopper Base.
3. Open the lid.
4. Put a inger on top of the Blade
Shaft, to stop it from falling out.
5. Tip the processed contents out of
the bowl.
6. Alternatively, before removing
the processed contents, hold the
plastic part of the Blade Shaft and
lift it straight up and out of the
bowl.

Chopping Guidelines
• Cut your ingredients into small pieces before processing.
• Chocolate, nuts, and cheese will chop/grind better if thoroughly chilled irst.
For best results, follow the guidelines outlined below:
Fruits 300 g 15-20 Peeled, cut into 2 cm (3/4”) pieces.
(10 1/2 oz)
Tomatoes 300 g 15-20 Cut into 4 cm (1 1/2”) pieces.
(10 1/2 oz)
Cheese 150 g 5-10 Cut into 2 cm (3/4”) pieces.
(5 1/4 oz)
Meats 300 g 20 Cut into 4 cm (1 1/2”) pieces. Raw meat will take
(raw or cooked) (10 1/2 oz) slightly longer to process than cooked meat.
Nuts 300 g 20 Use halved or chopped nuts. Scrape down
(10 1/2 oz) sides of bowl to ensure even processing.
Onions/Garlic 300 g 20 Peeled, cut into quarters.
(10 1/2 oz)
Parsley 100 g 10 To ensure successful results, it is essential
(3 1/2 oz) the bowl and parsley are completely dry.
Remove any stalks.
Sugar 500 g 5 Keep sugar completely dry.

Care and Maintenance
1. Unplug before dismantling or
cleaning.
2. Lift the lid o the Chopping Bowl.
3. Hold the plastic part of the blade
unit and lift it straight up and out of
the Chopping Bowl.
4. Handle only the plastic – DO NOT
touch the metal parts.
5. Hand Wash the Chopping Bowl,
Lid, and Blade in warm soapy water.
CAUTION! The blades are very
sharp. Alternatively, you may wash
the Chopping Bowl, Lid, and Blade
unit in a dishwasher.*
6. Rinse and dry thoroughly before
use.
7. Clean the inside of the blade unit
with a toothpick.
8. DO NOT put the Chopper Base in
water or any other liquid. Wipe it
with a damp cloth.
9. DO NOT use harsh or abrasive
cleaning agents or solvents.
10. Store the appliance away from
direct sunlight, and, if possible,
from luorescent light.
*If the appliance parts are washed in
a dishwasher, the harsh environment
inside the dishwasher will aect the
surface inishes. The damage should
be cosmetic only, and should not aect
the operation of the appliance. DO
NOT operate any appliance after the
appliance malfunctions or has been
damaged in any manner.
Disposal of Appliance
DO NOT dispose of this product in
household waste. Many parts of this
product are recyclable. Dispose of
as per the requirements of your local
municipality.

Starting from the date of purchase, Paderno
warrants that your Kitchen Appliance is free
from any manufacturing defects in materials
or workmanship for a period of 2 years.
This warranty is only oered on Paderno
appliances sold and used in Canada.
The Paderno warranty covers all costs
related to restoring the proven defective
product through the repair or replacement of
any defective part and necessary labour so
that it conforms to its original speciications.
A replacement product may be provided
instead of repairing a defective product at
Paderno’s discretion.
The Paderno warranty does not apply
to appliances that have been used
commercially or in non-household
applications. The warranty does not cover
damages resulting from misuse or abuse of
the product and/or uses inconsistent with
this Use and Care manual, attempts at repair,
theft, use with unauthorized attachments
or failure to follow the instructions provided
with the product. This warranty becomes
void if attempts at repair are made by non-
authorized third parties and/or if spare parts,
other than those provided by Paderno, are
used. You may also arrange for service
after the warranty expires at an additional
cost. There are no other express
warranties except as set forth herein
and any applicable implied warranties
of merchantability and itness (or those
provided for by law) are limited in duration
to the period of coverage of this express
written limited warranty.
