INTRODUCTION
Welcome to your new purchase of your Listen Ear™ Noise Dose
Meter and thank you for choosing Pambry Electronics Ltd, a dedicated
UK manufacturer of audio products sold worldwide.
This professionally made and calibrated instrument is far and away the best
value for money device of its type in the world. It will assist you to monitor
your hearing health and in particular Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL).
As one of the smallest and lightest units made, its ease of use belies the
hidden complexity inside. The theory behind NIHL is beyond the scope
of this Quick Start Guide however a simple explanation is provided
which should help your understanding of how hearing loss occurs and
what preventive measures can be taken.
FEATURES
SWITCH ON/OFF
To switch your Listen Ear™ ON press the SCROLL/POWER key. The
Pambry ‘splash’ screen will appear followed by the recently used ‘page’.
Pressing the SCROLL/POWER key for 1 second will turn the unit OFF.
Unit will switch itself OFF if there is no movement detected for 1h
(not applicable when record is active).
MEASUREMENT SESSION
Press the ENTER/RECORD key for 1 second to start or stop the
measurement session.
All parameters are recorded simultaneously – Sound Level, Dose,
Temperature and Humidity. User can change between various pages
by pressing the SCROLL/POWER key.
The default dose calculation method is factory set in accordance with
European Standards. Do not alter these settings unless you are familiar
with EU/OSHA standards. Conguration may be set to defaults in the
‘settings’ menu.
BATTERY CHARGING
Before use ensure the unit is fully charged by plugging the device into
a suitable charger or computer USB port. You may nd during this
operation that this device appears as a disk drive on your computer.
Do not worry - this is normal.
Any 5V charger with Micro-USB connector can be used.
The Info LED goes green when battery is fully charged.
AVAILABLE PAGES
There are a number of different ‘pages’ so called because each
represents a specic measurement or function. Each Scroll key press
change to the next ‘page’ and eventually back to where you started.
Active pages can selected from ‘settings/pages’ menu.
Status Bar displays current battery state, record duration and info
icons on every page.
