1 OPERATING GUIDE
1.1. Attaching the External Viewfinder
This External Viewfinder is designed only for the Panasonic digital camera DMC-LX3.(As of August 2008)
Preparation:
Close the flash and turn off the camera.
When attaching or removing the External Viewfinder, please tale your time and do so with care.
Slide the External Viewfinder into the hot shoe of the digital camera, ensuring that it is fully inserted.
1.2. How to use
Preparation:
Turn the camera on, and set [EXT.VIEWFINDER] to [ON] in the [REC] mode menu.
*The LCD monitor turn off to prevent needless battery consumption.
(Note that certain display elements, such as the focus indication and flash charge indication, are still displayed.)
Look through the Viewfinder, align the subject in the frames , and take your picture .
*The frame lens show the usable area for a 24 mm lens (35 mm film camera equivalent, aspect ratio 3:2, Wide.)
When the distance to the subject is approximately 50 cm (1.64feet)
(shortest distance for which normal use is possible)
Align the subject in the compensation frame and take your photograph,
*For further details, read the digital camera operating instructions.
1.3. Cautions for Use
*The External Viewfinder cannot be used with an external flash.
*Take care not to drop the External Viewfinder or to strong impact.
*When the External Viewfinder is fitted, do not use it to hold the camera.
*The camera may drop out of the External Viewfinder and be damaged.
*When the strap is attached, be careful that is does not touch/scratch the External Viewfinder.
*Take care not to touch or dirty the lens surface.
Use a blower brush to remove dust from the surface of the lens.
Before cleaning the External Viewfinder, wipe the External Viewfinder with a dry soft cloth.
·When the External Viewfinder is soiled badly, it can be cleaned by wiping the dirt off with a wrung wet cloth, and then with a dry
cloth.
·Do not use solvents such as benzene, thinner, alcohol, kitchen detergents, etc., to clean the
·External Viewfinder, since it may cause the external case to deteriorate or the coating to peel off.
·When using a chemical cloth, be sure to follow the accompanying instructions.
*Be sure to read the operating instructions of your digital camera.
*When not using the External Viewfinder, be sure to keep it in the storage bag, Store in a dry place, taking care to avoid heat and
humidity.
*Keep the External Viewfinder out of reach of children to prevent swallowing.
