Paradox Hellas S.A. MRTCP-IP User manual

MRTCP-IP module Quick Installation Guide
This guide describes the required steps to connect the MRTCP/
IP Module to the Matrix2000 re alarm panel.
The MRTCP-IP module connects directly to the main board of
the Matrix2000 panel. Provides full access and control of the
panel either localy via RS485 serial connection to repeaters or
via internet (TCP/IP) to any PC running the specially designed
software SmartView in real time.
Connecting the MRTCP-IP module reduces the maximum
number of repeaters that can be connected to the panel
Matrix2000 from 7 to 6.
Programming of a new IP address and port on the MRTCP/
IP module can be made through the Matrix Network Utility
(MNU) application or the SmartView software.
1. WARNING: Remove power from the Matrix2000 panel.
Connect the MRTCP/IP module to the Matrix2000 main 2.
board using the at cable provided and as shown in Figure
1.
Connect the module to the Local network using the RJ-45 3.
connector and an ethernet cable as shown in Figure 1.
Power up Matrix2000 panel.4.
The MRTCP/IP module comes with the default settings of pin
“12345”, IP address 192.168.0.232 and incoming port 9999.
The module acts a TCP server that will allow one client at any
time to connect over IP and monitor/operate the panel. The
use of specialized client software is required (SmartView).
Matrix Network Utility (MNU)
The utility uses broadcast ethernet to locate any module
connected to the same ethernet network. It is not necessary
to have valid IP conguration parameters in the module to nd
it.
Figure 2 - Matrix Network Utility main screen
Start the MNU on a PC connected to the same ethernet
network as the module and follow the steps bellow:
- Press the [Search] button: A list of IP modules found will
appear in the text box above. Each line shows the allocated IP
address and the MAC address of the module(s), which can be
found on the MRTCP-IP module.
Figure 3 - MNU MRTCP-IP module’s IP and MAC address
- Select the desired module by clicking on it’s corresponding
line in the text box:
The data elds to the right area of the window are populated
with it’s current settings.
- Amend the elds as required for the intended local network.
Pay special attention to DHCP setting:
If left or set to ON the module will ignore all the Network •
related elds; during power-up the settings will be
allocated automatically by an existing (and required)
DHCP server.
If left to OFF the IP settings entered by the user will be •
used.
Note: Changing the DHCP setting requires a system
restart by cycling the power of the system.
The conguration, once complete is sent to the unit by pressing
the “Send Conguration” button.
Special attention is required for changing the PIN: this pin
is required for connecting through the client software to the
module and panel. To change the pin the “Current password”
must contain the active password and the “New password” the
new one. The password is a numeric value of up to 10 digits
long. Once both text boxes contain the correct/desired values,
press the [Set Password] button to activate the changes.
The module may be reset to default settings with the following
procedure:
- Place a jumper on the pins shown in Figure 3.
- Cycle the power of the system.
- During the initial 5 seconds remove and replace the jumper.
- Wait 5 seconds; the system is now reset to default settings,
including the PIN.
