product. You have chosen a high quality product.
The instructions for use are part of the product. They
contain important information concerning safety,
use and disposal. Before using the product, please
familiarise yourself with all of the safety information
and instructions for use. Only use the product as
described and for the specified applications. If you
pass the product on to anyone else, please ensure
that you also pass on all the documentation with it.
Intended Use
This device is suitable for light and medium sawing
through wood, chip board, plastic, metal and
plaster board. Use the product only as per
described and for the applications be specified.
Any other usages of or modifications of the tool are
deemed to be improper use and it carries
significant risk of accidents and personal injury. The
manufacturer accepts no responsibility for
damage(s) that is caused by misuse. This product is
not intended for commercial use.

General power tool
safety warnings
Read all safety warnings
and all instructions. Failure to follow the
warnings and instructions may result in electric
shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for
future reference. The term “power tool” in the
warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded)
power tool or batteryoperated (cordless) power
tool.
1. Work area safety
a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b)
Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence
of flammable liquids, gases or dust.
Power tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away
while operating a power tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2. Electrical safety
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way.
Do not use any adapter plugs with
earthed (grounded) power tools.
Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes,
radiators, ranges and refrigerators.
There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or
wet conditions. Water entering a power
tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or
unplugging the power tool. Keep
cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric
shock.
e) When operating a power tool
outdoors, use an extension cord
suitable for outdoor use.
Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces
the risk of electric shock.
f) If operating a power tool in a damp
location is unavoidable, use a
residual current device (RCD)
protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces
the risk of electric shock.
3. Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing
and use common sense when
operating a power tool. Do not use a
power tool while you are tired or
under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety
shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
appropriate conditions will reduce personal
injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure
the switch is in the off-position
before connecting to power source
and/or battery pack, picking up or
carrying the tool. Carrying power tools
with your finger on the switch or energising
power tools that have the switch on invites
accidents.
d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench
before turning the power tool on. A
wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part
of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e) Do not overreach. Keep proper
footing and balance at all times. This
enables better control of the power tool in
unexpected situations.
f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. Keep your
hair, clothing and gloves away from

moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or
long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g) If devices are provided for the
connection of dust extraction and
collection facilities, ensure these are
connected and properly used.
Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related
hazards.
4. Power tool use and care
a) Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your
application. The correct power tool will do
the job better and safer at the rate for which it
was designed.
b) Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power
tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or the battery pack from
the power tool before making any
adjustments, changing accessories or
storing power tools. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting the
power tool accidentally.
d) Store idle power tools out of the
reach of children and do not allow
persons unfamiliar with the power
tool or these instructions to operate
the power tool. Power tools are dangerous
in the hands of untrained users.
e) Maintain power tools. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any
other condition that may affect the
power tool’s operation. If damaged,
have the power tool repaired Before
use. Many accidents are caused by poorly
maintained power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
g) Use the power tool, accessories and
tool bits, etc. in accordance with these
instructions, taking into account the
working conditions and the work to
be performed. Use of the power tool for
operations different from those intended could
result in a hazardous situation.
5. Battery tool use and care
a) Recharge only with the charger
specified by the manufacturer. A
charger that is suitable for one type of battery
pack may create a risk of fire when used with
another battery pack.
b) Use power tools only with specifically
designated battery packs. Use of any
other battery packs may create a risk of injury
and fire.
c) When battery pack is not in use, keep
it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
or other small metal objects, that can
make a connection from one terminal
to another. Shorting the battery terminals
together may cause burns or a fire.
d) Under abusive conditions, liquid may
be ejected from
the battery pack;
avoid contact. If contact accidentally
occ urs, flush with water. If liquid contacts
eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid
ejected from the battery may cause irritation or
burns.
CAUTION! DANGER OF
EXPLOSION! Never recharge
primary batteries.
Keep the battery pack away from
heat, e.g. continuous sunlight, fire,
water, and moisture. Risk of
explosion.
6) Service
Have your power tool serviced by a
qualified repair person using only
identical replacement parts. This will

ensure that the safety of the power tool is
maintained.
Special safety instructions
1) Safety instructions for reciprocating
saws
Hold the electrical power tool by the
insulated handle surfaces when you
are undertaking work where there is
the danger of the attachment
striking hidden electricity cables.
Contact with a live wire can also charge metal
parts of the device, which may lead to electric
shock.
Keep hands away from the sawing area. Do
not reach underneath the work piece. Upon
contact with the blade there is a risk of injury.
Only when the electric tool is turned on should
the sawing blade be moved against the work
piece. There is a risk of kickback if the tool
insert jams in the work piece.
Make sure that the base plate is securely
placed against the work piece during sawing.
The saw blade can tilt and lead to loss of
control over the power tool.
After you have finished work, turn the power
tool off and do not pull the saw blade out of
the cut until it has come to a standstill. In this
way you will avoid any kickback and can
safely put down the power tool.
Use only undamaged saw blades in perfect
condition. Bent or blunt blades can break,
adversely affect the cut or cause kickback.
Do not brake the saw blade after switching the
device off by applying side pressure. The saw
blade may be damaged, break or cause a
kickback.
Tighten the material firmly. Do not support the
work piece by hand or foot. Do not touch any
objects or the ground with the saw running.
There is a risk of kickback.
Use suitable detectors in order to find hidden
supply lines or ask the local utility company.
Contact with electrical cables can lead to
electric shock and fire, contact with a gas pipe
can result in an explosion.
Damage to a water pipe can lead to property
damaged and electric shock.
Hold the power tool tightly with both hands
while working and ensure a secure footing. The
power tool is guided more securely with both
hands.
Secure the work piece. A work piece that is
retained with clamping devices or a vice is
held more securely than with your hand.
Wait until the power tool has stopped before
placing it down.
The tool insert can tilt and lead to loss of
control over the power tool.
Do not saw any materials (e.g. lead-based
paints and coatings or materials containing
asbestos) whose dust can be harmful.
2) SPECIAL SAFETY DIRECTIONS FOR
BATTERY-OPERATED TOOLS
Ensure that the device is switched off before
inserting the battery pack. Inserting a battery
pack into a power tool that is switched on may
result in accidents.
It should be noted that to charge battery packs
with the charger only indoors. The charger is
intended to charge only a certain type of
battery pack.
To reduce the electric shock hazard, unplug the
battery charger from the mains before cleaning
the charger.
Do not subject the battery pack to strong
sunlight over long periods and do not leave it
on a heater. Heat damages the battery pack
and there is a risk of explosion.
Allow a hot battery pack to cool before
charging.
Do not open up the battery pack and avoid
mechanical damage to the battery pack. Risk
of short circuit and fumes may be emitted that
ir ritate the respiratory tract. Ensure fresh air
and seek medical assistance in the event of
discomfort.
Do not use non-rechargeable batteries. This
could damage the appliance.

3) RESIDUAL RISKS
Even if properly operating and handling this electric
tool, some residual risks will remain.
Due to its construction and build, this electric
tool may present the following hazards:
a) Lung damage, if suitable respiratory protection
is not worn;
b) Cuts
c) Ear damage if working without ear protection.
d) Damage to your health caused by swinging your
hands and arms when operating the appliance
for longer periods of time or if the unit is not
held or maintained properly.
Warning! During operation, this electric tool
generates an electromagnetic field which, under
certain circumstances, may impair the functionality
of active or passive medical implants. To reduce the
risk of serious or lethal injuries, we recommend that
persons with medical implants consult their doctor
and the manufacturer of their medical implant
before operating the machine.
4)Correct handling of the
battery charger
This appliance can be used by
children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge if
they have been given
supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance
in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the
appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children
without supervision.
To charge the battery, use only
the charger supplied. Risk of fire
and explosion. This ensures that
the safety of the device is
maintained.
Before each use, check the
charger, cable and plug and
have them repaired by qualified
professionals and only with
original parts. Do not use a
defective charger and do not
open it up yourself. This ensures
that the safety of the device is
maintained.
Connect the charger only to a
socket with an earth. Ensure that
the mains voltage matches the
specifications on the charger
rating plate. Risk of electric
shock.
Disconnect the charger from the
mains before closing or opening
connection to the battery /
power tool/device. This ensures
that the battery and charger are
not damaged.
Keep the charger clean and
away from wet and rain. Do not
use the charger outdoors. Dirt
and the entry of water increase
the risk of electric shock.

Operate the charger only with
the appropriate original battery-
packs. Charging other battery-
packs may result in injuries and
risk of fire.
Avoid mechanical damage to
the charger. This can result in
internal short circuits.
Do not operate the charger on a
combustible surface (e.g. paper,
textiles). Risk of fire due to
heating during charging.
If the supply cord of this
appliance is damaged, it must
be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent
or similarly qualified persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
Do not charge non-rechargeable
batteries in the charger. This
could damage the appliance.
The charger is suitable
for indoor use only.
Note: This charger is suitable
only for the battery pack type
Parkside Perfomance 20V.
Before use
Charging the battery pack
CAUTION! Always pull out the plug of charger
before removing or connecting the battery pack
9to the charger.
Never charge the battery pack 9when the
ambient temperature is below 10°C or above
40°C.
Connect the battery pack 9to the fast
charger 14 (see Fig. B).
The green LED flashes briefly and then expires
when the battery is empty. The red LED glows
permanently while loading.
During charging operations, only red charge
status LED 15 glows up.
The green charge status LED 16 lights up while
red charge status LED 15 turns off that the
charging process is completed
Red LED flashes : Battery pack is defective
Green LED flashes : Battery pack is too cold or
too hot
Attaching/ Disconnecting the
battery pack
Inserting the battery pack:
Push and allow battery pack 9into the tool’s
connection slots completely and be clicked to
it. (see Fig. C).
Removing the battery pack:
Press the release button 11 downward and
pull the battery pack 9from the tool (see
Fig. D).
Checking the battery level
Press the battery level button 10 to check the
charge level of the battery pack (see Fig. E).
The status/remaining charge will be shown on
the battery level indication lights 12 .
3 red lights glow = maximum charge level
2 red lights glow = medium charge level
1 red lights glows = low charge level
Changing the blade (see Fig. F)
Always wear protective gloves when
handling the saw blade in order to
avoid cutting yourself.

CAUTION! - Battery pack 9must be removed
from the tool prior to changing the blade 17 .
Do not use any blunt, bent or damaged blade
Always install a suitable saw blade for the job.
1. Turn chuck ring 3in anti-clockwise direction
2. Insert saw blade 17 into saw blade retainer
2as per direction a.
3. Release chuck ring 3and let it turns back to
original position
4. Pull the saw blade 17 in direction bto check it
is installed properly
Removing the saw blade:
1. Turn chuck ring 3in anti-clockwise direction
2. Pull the blade 17 from saw blade retainer 2
as per direction b.
3. Release chuck ring 3, it will turn back to
original position
Note: For certain work, the saw blade can also
be inserted after turning through 180°.
Operation
When working with the device, always wear
suitable clothing and appropriate protective
equipment.
Prior to each use it must be ensured that the
device is working correctly. Personal protective
equipment and a fully functional device reduce
the risk of injuries and accidents.
After the device has been switched off, the
blade continues moving for some time. Do not
touch the moving blade and do not attempt to
brake it. Danger of injury!
Switching on and off
Ensure your stance is stable and hold the tool’s
front handle 5and rear handle 8firmly with
both hands. Before switching on the device,
ensure it is not in contact with the work piece.
Switching on:
1. Ensure that battery pack 9is inserted
properly (see “Attaching/Disconnecting the
battery pack to/from the product”).
2. Press the switch lock 6and On/Off switch
7(see Fig. H).
3. Then release switch lock 6(see Fig. G). The
switch lock 6moves back into its original
position.
4. By using On/Off switch 7, you can
progressively control stroke rate.
Gentle pressure : low stroke rate
Greater pressure : higher stroke rate
On/Off switch 7cannot be locked
Switching off:
Just release On/ Off switch 7.
Note: LED work light 4will keep on for
about 10s right after tool is switched off
(On / Off switch 7is released).
Adjusting the base plate
To adapt to the work piece, the base plate 1can
be adjusted and swivelled to 4 positions.
Press the adjusting button 13 (see Fig. I).
The base plate 1can now be adjusted to the
desired position.
After base plate 1is placed in desired
position, press down base plate adjustment
button 13 back to original position (see Fig. J).
Practical tips
Wear gloves when handling the
saw blade. In this way, you avoid
injury from cuts.
Caution: Risk of injury and damage to property!
- Do not use any blunt or bent blades or blades
which are damaged in any other way.
- Before sawing the work piece, check for hidden
foreign objects such as nails, screws. These
must be removed.
- Always insert a suitable saw blade.
- Secure the work piece with the aid of
clamping devices on the workbench.

- Apply only as much pressure as is required
for sawing. If there is excessive pressure, the
sawing blade may bend and break.
- Switch the device off immediately if the
sawing blade jams.
Spread the saw cut out and pull the blade out
carefully.
- Always stand to the side of the saw when
working.
- Always make sure that the workplace is well
ventilated.
- Avoid over-stressing the device while working.
Regular Cuts
Verify the tool is not touching the work piece.
Then switch on.
Apply the shoe 1to the work piece. Use even
pressure, advancing at a steady pace when
making your cut. You can make horizontal,
diagonal, or vertical cuts.

When you are finished, first pull the saw blade
out of the work piece before switching off the
power tool.
Plunge Cuts
Plunge cuts are very challenging and are associated
with a higher risk of injuries. Only use this technique
if you are familiar with it.
Plunge cuts may only be carried out in soft
materials such as wood or plasterboard and
with short blades (max. length 150 mm). There
is a risk of kickback and personal injury.
1. Place the front edge of the base plate 1on
the work piece so that the saw blade 17 does
not touch the work piece.

2. Turn the device on and let the saw blade 17
slowly plunge into the work piece.
3. When the work piece depth has been cut
through, continue sawing as usual.

Flush cuts:
With elastic bi-metal saw blades you can separate
water pipes, for example, flush to the wall.
Make sure that the blade is always longer than
the pipe diameter. There is a risk of kickback
and personal injury.
Cleaning/Maintenance
Remove the battery pack from the device
before carrying out any work or transporting it.
If the device is switched on accidentally, there
is a danger of injury.

Repair and servicing work not described in this
manual should always be carried by our
Service Centre. Use only original parts.
Always wear protective gloves when
handling the saw blade 17 in order
to avoid cutting yourself.
The following cleaning and servicing should be
done regularly. This will ensure a long and
reliable service life.
Cleaning
Do not spray the appliance with water and do
not immerse it in water. Electric shock hazard!
Keep clean the ventilation slots, motor housing
and handles of the appliance.
Use a damp cloth or a brush. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents. You may otherwise
irreparably damage the appliance.
Clean the saw blade holder 2with a brush
or by blowing out with compressed air. To do
this, remove the saw blade 17 from the device.
General maintenance
Prior to every use, check the appliance for
obvious defects such as loose, worn or
damaged parts.
Check covers and safety devices for damages
and correct installation. Replace as necessary.
Replace a blunt or bent blade or one which
has been damaged in some other way.
Storage
Store the device in a dry location protected
from dust, out of the reach of children.
Remove the battery pack 9from the device
before storing for extended periods (e.g. over
winter).
Only store the batty pack partially charged.
The battery should be charged to 40-60%
(two LEDs in the charge indicator 12 light up)
before storing for extended periods.
Check the battery pack charge about every
3 months when storing for extended periods
and recharge as necessary.
Store the battery pack at temperatures
between 10 °C to 25 °C. Avoid extreme cold
or heat during storage to prevent the battery
pack from losing capacity.
Disposal
The packaging is made entirely of
recyclable materials, which you may
dispose of at local recycling facilities.
The Green Dot is not valid for Germany.

Observe the marking of the packaging
materials for waste separation, which
are marked with abbreviations (a) and
numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7:
plastics/20–22: paper and fibreboard/
80–98: composite materials.
The product and packaging materials
are recyclable, dispose of it separately
for better waste treatment. The Triman
logo is valid in France only.
Contact your local refuse disposal
authority for more details of how to
dispose of your worn-out product.
To help protect the environment, please
dispose of the product properly when it
has reached the end of its useful life and
not in the household waste. Information
on collection points and their opening
hours can be obtained from your local
authority.
Faulty or used batteries/rechargeable batteries
must be recycled in accordance with Directive
2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return
the batteries/rechargeable batteries and / or the
product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through
incorrect disposal of the batteries/
rechargeable batteries!
Before disposal, remove the batteries from the product.
Batteries /rechargeable batteries may not be
disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They
may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to
