device may only be used by qualified personnel and repaired by PCE Instruments personnel.
Damage or injuries caused by non-observance of the manual are excluded from our liability and
not covered by our warranty.
•The device must only be used as described inthis instruction manual. If used otherwise,
this can cause dangerous situations for the user and damage to the meter.
•The instrument may only be used if the environmental conditions (temperature, relative
humidity, …) are within the ranges stated in the technical specifications. Do not expose
the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, extreme humidity or moisture.
•Do not expose the device to shocks or strong vibrations.
•The case should only be opened by qualified PCE Instruments personnel.
•Never use the instrument when your hands are wet.
•You must not make any technical changes to the device.
•Keep the surface clean and free from damage. Clean it only with protective gloves. The
device should only be cleaned with a soft cloth.
•The device must only be used with accessories from PCE Instruments or equivalent.
•Before each use, inspect the case for visible damage. If any damage is visible, do not
use the device.
•The device must not be used in a potentially explosive atmosphere, must not come into
contact with hazardous substances or be submerged.
•Place the magnetic stirrer on a flat, stable, clean, non-slip and fireproof surface.
•Make sure that only authorised persons who have previously familiarised themselves
with the operating instructions use the magnetic stirrer.
•Note that magnetic fields can affect pacemakers and cause data loss.
•Do not touch the heating plate when it has reached atemperature above 50°C to avoid
injury / burns. Please note that there is still residual heat even after switching off.
•Do not place any objects on the stirring plate that are not temperature-resistant.
•Hold the instruments firmly in both hands when moving or connecting it. The unit should
not be moved until it has reached room temperature.
•Make sure that the power cable and temperature sensor do not come into contact with
the heating plate.
•Do not place any steel or magnetic parts on the magnetic stirrer. The recommended
magnetic stirring bar may only be placed on the device if it is in a beaker or flask.
•Depending on the medium, you should wear appropriate protective equipment. With
some media, there is a risk of splashing or the release of toxic or flammable gases, for
example.
•Damaged cups, flasks, stirring bars or other parts should not be used anymore.
•Reduce the speed if the medium splashes out of the container due to excessive speed,
if the device runs unsteadily or if the container moves back and forth on the plate.
•Do not move the instrument during operation or when it is connected to the power
supply.
•Do not use the appliance for hazardous or reactive solutions.
•Special care should be taken when working with flammable materials, especially if they
have a low vapour pressure. Overfilling should also be avoided in any case. The
container should be the right size and stand firmly on the plate. Broken glass can also
be a hazard.
•Contamination and chemical reactions must be expected.
•The temperature sensor must always be immersed at least 30 mm deep in the medium.
•Please observe the specified operating voltage.
