Preparation of Instrument
•Clean positioning area for adaptor and temperature
jacket.
•Place temperature jacket on holder ring (3) and
attach tube connection to thermostat.
•Insert the adaptor suitable for flow cup used in the
temperature jacket.
•Attach power supply: insert jack plug of supply unit
in the socket (8) on the bottom side of measuring
unit (5).
•Should “EEE.E” appear on the display (6), the
lenses (4) are to be cleaned.
•Level instrument: place spherical level on the
measuring unit (5) and align instrument with the
adjustable feet (1).
•Place a suitable receiver vessel on base plate (2).
Execution of Test
•Place flow cup in the filling support stand, press cup
with nozzle onto rubber cap and fix with knurled
screw.
•Fill liquid into flow cup.
•Shove superfluous material with the glass plate over
the cup rim and close cup with glass plate.
•Take the prepared flow cup from the filling support
stand and place into adaptor.
•Wait until a temperature balance has been reached
between the temperature jacket and the test liquid.
•Press reset button (7).
The instrument will perform a testing and balance
routine: All segments of the display (6) are shown. An
acoustic signal is sounded for approx. 0.3 seconds.
The instrument carries out automatic balancing.
The numbers 0.00 are shown on the display. Should
“EEE.E” appear, clean lenses (4) and press reset button
once more.
The instrument is now ready to start.
•Draw off glass plate horizontally.
•As soon as the stream of the sample flows, the time
count commences.
•The test is completed when an acoustic signal
sounds for approx. 0.3 seconds and the value on the
display changes no more.
Maintenance and Care
Storage: The instrument must be stored in a
dry place.
Position: The measuring opening may not be
exposed to direct outside light. The
underlay should be dark and non-
reflecting.
Cleaning: Only use lintfree, turpentine
moistened cloths for cleaning the
lenses. Do not use any abrasive or
detergents damaging to plastics.
