
Charging
Your OutLoud speaker includes a charger that lets you choose between operating your OutLoud via
the built-in rechargeable battery or while plugged into a standard wall outlet. Your OutLoud speaker
delivers eight hours of sound from a single charge. To charge your OutLoud’s internal battery:
1. Lift the access panel on the back of your OutLoud.
2. Plug the included charger into the 19V port on your OutLoud and into any standard wall outlet.
3. A red charging indicator light will appear. When this indicator light turns off, your
OutLoud is fully charged.
4. Once charged, unplug your OutLoud to use on the go, or use while plugged into the power source.
Function Buttons & Lights
1. Sync Button – This button allows you to sync your OutLoud speakers
with up to seven additional OutLoud speakers.
2. Volume Down – Press this button to lower the volume of your OutLoud
speaker. Volume is indicated by the LED lights, the fewer lights lit, the
lower the volume of the speaker.
3. Volume Up – Press this button to raise the volume of your OutLoud
speaker. Volume is indicated by the LED lights on top of the unit; the
more lights that are on, the higher the volume of the speaker.
4. NFC – To pair your OutLoud with an NFC-capable device, first enable NFC on your device and
then place the device in close proximity to the NFC label on the OutLoud to pair.
5. Mode- Switch select between three modes:
1) Bluetooth (as indicated by blue flashing LEDs)
2) 5.8GHz Paring to Bluetooth Connected OutLoud (as indicated by purple flashing LEDs)
3) 3.5mm Auxiliary-In Source (as indicated by white flashing LEDs)
6. Indicator Lights
Green (Battery Charge Indicator): Pressing the Sync Button twice quickly will show how much
charge remains in the battery.
Blue (Bluetooth): Blinks when searching for a device. Remains lit when it is paired with your
Bluetooth device.
Purple (Pairing with Additional Speakers): Blinks while searching for other OutLoud Speakers
with which to pair. Remains lit when successfully paired with another OutLoud speaker.
White (Auxiliary): This light must be lit in order to use with a 3.5mm cable (not included)
plugged into your device.
Access Panel
Pairing with Bluetooth Device
To pair with your smartphone, tablet, PC, or other Bluetooth device, first make sure your Bluetooth
settings are turned on and searching for devices.
1. Open the access panel and turn on the OutLoud; you will hear a resonating tone as it powers
up. The green LED lights that first turn on indicate the amount of remaining battery charge;
after a moment these lights will turn blue, indicating that the unit is in Bluetooth mode. The
blue LEDs will blink until paired with a device. If they do not blink but remain on, the unit is
indicating that it is already paired with a device. To pair with a different device you must first
unpair the one currently connected.
2. Open your device’s Bluetooth settings and find and select “OutLoud.” A tone will sound on the
OutLoud and the blue LED lights will remain on.
3. Your device is now paired with the OutLoud – turn it up and enjoy your music with the clarity
and volume it deserves!
Connecting to Your Device with a 3.5mm Cable
In addition to the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity, the OutLoud also lets you hardwire
directly into the OutLoud using a 3.5mm cable (not included). You’ll still be able to enjoy the
superior sound and versatility of the OutLoud, including pairing with multiple OutLoud speakers.
To connect with a 3.5mm cable:
1. Open the access panel and turn on the OutLoud; you will hear a resonating tone as it powers
up. The green LED lights that first appear indicate the amount of remaining battery charge.
2. Plug one end of the 3.5mm cable (not included) into your device and the other end into the
3.5mm jack on the OutLoud.
3. Press the Mode Button on top of the OutLoud twice. The white LED lights indicate that the unit
is in Auxiliary mode for playback via 3.5mm cable.
4. You may pair your OutLoud with up to seven other OutLoud speakers, connecting either by
Bluetooth or 3.5mm cable.
Pairing Multiple OutLoud Speakers
For an amazing all-around sound experience, you can pair up to seven additional OutLoud speakers.
To pair additional speakers:
1. Pair your device with the OutLoud speaker, connecting either via Bluetooth connection or
3.5mm cable (not included). This will be the master speaker. You will be able to control the
volume of all paired speakers using the Volume Buttons on the top of this unit.
2. Once your device is paired with the master OutLoud speaker, turn on the additional OutLoud
speaker(s) you want to link.
3. Press the Mode button on the additional speakers you want to link until the LED lights on top
are blinking purple, then press the Sync Button on the Master OutLoud speaker one time.
After a short moment your speakers will be linked as indicated by the flashing purple LEDs
switching to non-flashing purple LEDs.
Sound Settings
Your OutLoud speaker lets you choose from a variety of sound settings. These settings are especially
helpful for designing the ideal sound when pairing multiple OutLoud speakers.
S – Ideal setting for use of a single speaker, providing a balanced mix of left/right stereo sound.
R – In this setting, the speaker will play the right channel of stereo sound.
C – In this setting, the speaker will play the center channel of stereo sound.
L – In this setting, the speaker will play the left channel of stereo sound.
Using with a Tripod
The OutLoud features a pre-drilled and threaded socket on the back for use with a standard
tripod. To use with a tripod, screw the tripod’s fastening screw into the OutLoud. NOTE: It is
important to make sure the tripod you use can support the weight of the OutLoud and is firmly
placed on level ground.
Troubleshooting
The Lyrix Outloud works within the effective range of approximately 150’ (45m). If it does not,
please try the following:
1. Should you experience any performance issues upon first use, please reset it by turning the
unit off and then back on.
2. Make sure that your speaker is charged up and turned on.
3. Make sure that the device with which you want to pair has its Bluetooth setting in the “On”
position and is within the effective range of 150’ (45m).
4. Move your Lyrix OutLoud and/or Bluetooth Device away from sources of electromagnetic
interference such as cordless phones, microwave ovens, wireless network routers, or other
Bluetooth devices.
5. If you have difficulty connecting your device with your Lyrix OutLoud after it has been paired
with your device, delete it from your device and re-pair.
6. If you have too many Bluetooth devices listed under “Devices,” the pairing process
may take longer or be unsuccessful. Delete one or more of the devices to improve pairing
performance.
7. Make sure you are following the instructions for Pairing with a Bluetooth device, or connecting
with a 3.5mm cable.
