INTRODUCTION
Overview
The FCB4N is progr mm ble MIDI foot controller th t supports ll st nd rd MIDI devices. You c n s ve
MIDI mess ges into the FCB4N with 64 presets memory. The MIDI mess ges c n be tr nsmit by 2 different
PC nd 4 CC in preset.
The FCB4N h s up/down b nk switches nd 4 p tches switches with high qu lity nd he vy duty foot switch
th t you c n feel when pressing on switch. The body is m de by luminum with bl ck nodize co ting nd
folded by l ser cutting process. It is comp ct rugged, simple to use nd fully progr mm ble MIDI foot
controller.
TOP Panel
BANK UP/DOWN SWITCH This is using for incre se b nk up or decre se b nk down from the current
st te. The current b nk is st rt from b nk#1 up to b nk#32 m ximum but
you c n progr m the b nk limit for looping.
PRESETS SWITCH The FCB4N h s 4 p tches in b nk s P1, P2, P3 nd P4. You lso use
these switches in progr mming mode for edit, enter, s ve or c ncel
function.
BANK/PROGRAM DISPLAY The seven segment displ y h s 2 digits displ y for showing mode when you
re entering to edit/setting progr m or displ y b nk number when you re
on oper tion. The MIDI number is st rt from 0 to 127 th t me ns the
number would be show from 00 to 2.7. If number is over 99 it would be
show the number with point.

BACK Panel
MIDI OUT This MIDI out port is for tr nsmit MIDI mess ges from the unit to other
MIDI device.
12VAC/DC I/O Connect to supply extern l volt ge 9 - 12V c/dc with current 200mA
minimum. (12V c/dc m ximum) These re 2 ports for exp nd the input
power supply to other MIDI device. (It is not power supply ports)

Power connecting
The FCB4N is Flexible power requirements 9V-12V, AC or DC, 200mA. So, you c n plug in power supply to
12VAC IO port (selected one) then the unit is re dy to works. For nother one is power out with the s me
volt ge/current s the input d pter.
Above picture is n ex mple th t using POD 2.0 power supply with the FCB4 unit.

FCB4N PRESET MODE
The FCB4N h s f ctory def ult presets mode F1 – F8 nd U1 – U2 mode for users setting.
Factory default mode F1 – F8

This setting is completely setting for user th t me ns you just select preset mode which you w nt nd
choose MIDI ch nnel. Th t’s re dy to control your MIDI device in progr m ch nge function.

BASIC OPERATION
Ple se refer to text th t ppe rs s under switches when you re going to use the FCB4N unit in the b sic
oper tion mode. On power up, the l test preset is selected nd tr nsmitted MIDI mess ge vi MIDI out.
(Initi l v lue is B nk#1, preset#1 of mode F1)
You c n not progr m or set ny ch nges on preset when you re working on n oper tion mode bec use
we design the firmw re to h ve no del y when the FCB4N tr nsmitted MIDI mess ges vi MIDI out. The
MIDI mess ges re suddenly tr nsmitted once the selected preset is pressing.
Bank and Preset selection
In e ch mode h s different tot l b nk on the function but h s 32 B nks m ximum. (B nk#1 – B nk#32)
Press BANK UP or BANK DOWN switches to move/scroll from the current b nk to nother. The
BANK/PROGRAM displ y will fl sh nd h s no MIDI mess ge tr nsmitted until preset switch is selected.
(P1, P2, P3 or P4 switches) You c n hold on the BANK UP or BANK DOWN switches to/p st the current
b nk continuous nd the BANK/PROGRAM displ y will be looping once it is out of limit.
You c n selected preset by press the P1, P2, P3 or P4 switches then the selected preset LED bove the
switch will be on with MIDI mess ge suddenly tr nsmitted.
SETUP MODE AND PRESET PROGRAMMING
When you supplied power into the FCB4N unit then it is going to l unch oper tion mode utom tic lly. You
c n not progr m or setting on this oper ting mode. You should tell the unit knows th t you w nt to setting
or progr mming. This ch pter is expl in how to progr mming or setting the FCB4N
Programming Mode Enable
You h ve to en ble the progr mming mode every time when you need to setting/progr mming on FCB4N.
You c n en ble the progr mming mode by step following
1. Remove power from the FCB4N unit.
2. Press P1 switch nd hold on.
3. Plug the power into the FCB4N unit.
4. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y will show s ch r cters below
5. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y s ch r cters bove is me ning
“Progr mming Mode En ble”
then rele se the P1 switch.
6. The FCB4N will be initi lizing with progr mming mode en ble so, you c n progr m the unit
follow by the next ch pters.
7. You c n dis ble the preset progr mming mode by simply remove the power plug out from
unit.

Preset Mode Selection
The FCB4N h s 10 presets mode so you c n select e ch preset mode to m tching with your MIDI devices.
You c n select preset mode by step following:
1. M ke sure you re lre dy en bled the progr mming mode.

2. Press P1 switch nd hold until the BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing current preset mode.
The def ult setting is mode F1 so, the BANK/PROGRAM displ y should be fl shing s
ch r cters below:
3. Once the BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing current mode then rele se the P1 switch.
4. You c n select preset mode which you w nt by scroll to/p st vi BANK DOWN or BANK UP
switches. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing s ch r cters below:
5. After you’ve selected preset mode then press P2 switch to confirm.
6. If you h ve selected F ctory Def ult Mode (F1 – F8) the next step is going to MIDI ch nnel
selection. Otherwise ple se see the next ch pter.
7. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y will be showing ch r cters “CH” for 1 second nd will be
fl shing current MIDI ch nnel. (Def ult MIDI ch nnel is 1) So, the BANK/PROGRAM displ y
is fl shing s ch r cters below:
8. You c n select MIDI ch nnel from 1 – 16 by scrolling to/p st vi BANK DOWN or BANK UP
switches. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing s ch r cters below:
9. After you’ve selected MIDI ch nnel then press P4 switch to s ve the setting into memory.
The FCB4N will goes out from the preset mode setting nd b ck to the oper tion mode with
progr mming mode en bled.
10. If you w nt to b ck to the preset mode selection p ge (m in menu) ple se press P2 switch.
11. You c n c ncel or exit setting by press P3 switch. The FCB4N will goes out from the preset
mode setting nd return b ck to the oper tion mode with progr mming mode en bled.
Note You c n press P1 switch to see the current setting topic/menu.

User define Mode U1 Setting
This mode is supported only MIDI progr m ch nge (s me s mode F1 – F8) but you c n set tot l BANK limit
nd you c n lso set the progr m ch nge number st rt.
You c n set the FCB4N to U1 mode by step following:
1. M ke sure you re lre dy en bled the progr mming mode.

2. Press P1 switch nd hold until the BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing current preset mode.
(Ple se see Preset Mode Selection ch pter)
3. After you h ve selected U1 mode nd BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing “U1” then press
P2 switch to enter U1 mode nd setting p r meter s below:
4. Select MIDI ch nnel th t you w nt to tr nsmit mess ges once the BANK/PROGRAM displ y is
showing “CH” for 1 second then it will show you the current MIDI ch nnel. You c n select from
01 – 16 for setting MIDI ch nnel.
5. If you h ve selected MIDI ch nnel then press P2 switch to scroll up the setting menu.
6. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y is showing “SP” for 1 second then it will show you the current
st rt MIDI progr m ch nge number. You c n select from 00 – 2.7 for setting the st rt progr m
ch nge number. (If number is over 99 then it will show in point)
7. If you h ve selected MIDI PC# st rt then press P2 switch g in to scroll up the setting menu.
8. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y is showing “tb” for 1 second then it will show you the current
tot l b nk. You c n select b nk# from 1 – 32 for setting how m ny b nks do you w nt.
9. After you’ve completed setting then press P4 switch to s ve the setting into memory. The
FCB4N will goes out from the preset mode setting nd return b ck to the oper tion mode with
progr mming mode en bled.
10. If you w nt to return b ck to the preset mode selection p ge g in ple se press P2 switch.
11. You c n c ncel nd exit setting by press P3 switch. The FCB4N will goes out from the preset
mode setting without s ving ny ch nges nd return b ck to the oper tion mode with still in
progr mming mode en bled.

User define Mode U2 Setting
U2 mode is using for progr mming MIDI continuous mess ges with 2 PC nd 4 CC. You c n ON/OFF or
setting mess ges you w nt to tr nsmit. U2 mode h s 64 presets memory with 16 b nks x 4 p tches so, you
c n set/progr m MIDI continuous mess ges by step following:
1. Select preset th t you w nt to edit only in b nk#1 – b nk#16 by press BANK UP or BANK
DOWN switches to move/scroll from the current b nk to nother. If b nk# you selected is over
b nk#16 it will set to b nk#16 utom tic lly. If b nk you selected is not enough ple se set
the FCB4N to mode F5 before progr mming preset.
2. After you selected preset lre dy then go to mode U2 by following
Preset Mode Selection
ch pter.
M ke sure you re lre dy en bled the progr mming mode.

3. After you selected U2 mode nd BANK/PROGRAM displ y is fl shing “U2” then press P2
switch to enter U2 mode nd setting p r meter s below:

4. As di gr m bove you c n set p r meter for the selected preset with step by step. If you don’t
w nt to tr nsmit some MIDI mess ge you c n set to “oF” th t’s me ning “OFF” nd the next
setting step will be skip.
5. You c n s ve setting to preset memory by press P4 switch. The FCB4N will goes out from the
preset mode setting nd return b ck to the oper tion mode with progr mming mode en bled.
6. If you don’t w nt to s ve ny ch nges ple se press P3 switch. The FCB4N will exit without
s ving ny ch nges nd return b ck to the oper tion mode with progr mming mode en bled.
Note You c n press P1 switch to see the current setting topic/menu.
Factory Restore
You c n reset the FCB4N to f ctory def ult setting. The d t th t you set in the EEPROM memory will be
er se nd return b ck the f ctory def ult setting. You c n restore the f ctory def ult by step following:
1. Unplug you power from the FCB4N unit
2. Press nd hold the P4 switch.
3. Plug the power into the FCB4N unit.
4. The BANK/PROGRAM displ y will be fl shing with dot so, it is processing on restore.
5. Once you see it is on processing then you c n rele se the P4 switch.
6. W it for moment until restore process completed. The FCB4N will initi liz tion with f ctory
def ult setting.
MIDI Cable Support
The FCB4N is st nd rd MIDI foot controller so you c n connect the FCB4N to ny MIDI devices you w nt
vi st nd rd MIDI c ble. If you need to ph ntom power into the FCB4N unit, it is v il ble. The circuit h s
reserved MIDI DIN pin 2 for ground nd pin 3 for supply but you h ve to jump on pcb to en ble. We
dis ble the ph ntom power for protection ny d m ge to your MIDI devices. Ple se re d your MIDI device’s
instruction before en ble the ph ntom power.
