Backpack Fogger
User Manual
Model Number: PSF-B201
SET

1. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on selecting the PermaSafe PSF-B201 Electric ULV Cold Fogger. This
manual includes general operating and use instructions. Please read and familiarize
yourself with this entire manual before attempting to use the PSF-B201 Fogger.
The PSF-B201 was specifically designed to provide the fastest, most efficient PermaSafe
antimicrobialproductapplications.Itslightweight,ergonomicdesignandULVatomization
technology make it the perfect choice for applying these formulations.
Unlike thermo fogging systems, which convert liquid solutions into fog by vaporizing them
with high heat, a process that can destroy a liquid’s chemical properties, the PSF-B201
is a ULV (Ultra Low Volume) “cold” fogger.Instead of heat, it produces and utilizes large
volumes of low-pressure air to transform liquids into a fog comprised of very fine,
uniformly-sized droplets that not only travel long distances, but also cover more area with
less product than other dispersal systems.
2. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
3. UNIT ASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT NOTE:All PSF-B201s are fully assembled and tested prior to leaving the
manufacturing plant. To facilitate shipping, the Application Hose Collar is disconnected
from the Motor Housing of each unit and must be reconnected prior to use.
STEP 1: Unpack and remove the PSF-B201 from the shipping boxes, noting that the
Application Hose Collar is loose and being careful to avoid pulling on the clear plastic
tubes or and black wiring conduit that run inside of the Application Hose, from the Power
Switch and Discharge Nozzle and into the Motor Housing.

STEP 2: Carefully reattach the Application Hose by screwing its Collar to the Motor
Housing, while ensuring that the two clear plastic tubes and the black wiring conduit
remain inside the Application Hose.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The black wiring conduit runs from the Motor Housing, through the
Application Hose and to the Power Switch on the Application Hose Handle. One of the
two clear plastic tubes runs from the Motor Housing, through the Application Hose and to
the Discharge Nozzle. Note that the second of the two clear plastic tubes is merely a vent
tube. It runs from the Motor Housing and is cut to extend about 6” - 8” from it. This cut
end is loose, meaning it connects to nothing, however it must also run into the Application
Hose. See below photo for proper placement.
4. UNIT SET-UP
STEP 1: The PSF-B201 operates on 110v AC electrical power and requires a source
rated to 1200 W. Check to ensure the PowerSwitch is in the "OFF" position and then plug
the Power Cord into an appropriate power outlet.
IMPORTANT NOTE:Protect Power Cords from being pinched or sharply bent,
particularly where they connect to a power outlet. Inspect Power Cords regularly. If a
power cord or cable becomes warm, frayed, cracked or damaged in any way, stop using
it immediately.
WARNING:To minimize the risk of electric shock or fire, use only an outdoor rated
extension cord no longer than 100 feet in length. Consult an electrical professional if
longer cords are required.
STEP 2: While the Fluid Tank is still empty, adjust thePSF-B201’s Backpack Straps until
a comfortable fit is achieved.

STEP 3: With the Backpack Straps adjusted for maximum comfort, remove the Fluid
Tank Cap and carefully fill the Fluid Tank with the desired amount of PermaSafe
antimicrobial product, or other appropriate solution of your choice, consistent with the
product’s label instructions. Reinstall the Fluid Tank Cap and securely tighten.
IMPORTANT NOTE:The PSF-B201 is designed and calibrated to atomize “thin” liquids,
specifically liquids with a viscosity or consistency similar to that of water. Heavier, more
viscous formulations generally will not atomize and can clog or damage the PSF-B201.
WARNING:Improper fogging of chemicals can lead to serious injury. Read and follow all
label instructions before attempting to apply any chemical with any fogging device.
5. USING THE PSF-B201
IMPORTANT NOTE: NEVER TURN THE PSF-B201 “ON” UNLESS THE BLUE FLOW
ADJUSTER KNOB IS TURNED FULLY CLOCKWISE TO THE CLOSED POSITION
AND THE FLUID TANK CAP IS TIGHT.
STEP 1: With its Power Cord plugged into an appropriate power source, and the blue
Flow Adjuster Knob turned fully clockwise and closed, the PSF-B201 is ready for use.
STEP 2: To begin fogging, simply turn the PSF-B201 ON by pushing the Power Switch
to the ON position and then turning the blue Flow Adjuster Knob very slightly
counterclockwise until the desired fine spray volume is achieved.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WHEN TURNING THE PSF-B201 “OFF” PLEASE ADHERE TO
THE FOLLOWING PROTOCOL:
STEP 3: To turn the PSF-B201 OFF, please be sure to follow these steps:*
a. Raise the Application Hose Handle toa height above the fluid level in the Fluid Tank.
b. While keeping the Application Hose Handle above the fluid level in the Fluid Tank,
turn the PSF-B201 OFF by pushing the Power Switch to the OFF position.
c. Continue to hold the Application Hose Handle at a height above the fluid level in the
Fluid Tank for 3-5 seconds.
d. Turn the Blue Flow Adjuster Knob fully clockwise to the closed position.
*Failure to follow the above protocol can lead to fluid leaking out of the Discharge
Nozzle and onto the floor, as well as into the Application Hose and, ultimately, into
the Motor Housing and Motor, potentially causing premature Motor failure.
WARNING: Be sure to wear appropriate protective equipment such as gloves,
eyeglasses or goggles, approved respirator, protective clothing, etc. as recommended by
the chemical manufacturer.

6. MAINTAINING THE PSF-B201
STEP 1: After each use, empty the Fluid Tank and drain all liquid from the Application
Hose. Return all unused chemical to its original container for future use, or dispose of it
properly, consistent with the product’s label instructions.
STEP 2: Rinse out and partially fill the PSF-B201’s Fluid Tank with clean water. Then,
after first making sure the blue Flow Adjuster Knob is turned fully clockwise and is in the
closed position, turn it ON and allow it to run for 3 - 5 minutes to flush all residual product
from the fluid delivery system. Turn the PSF-B201 OFF as directed in Section 5, STEP 3.
Clean and dry the exterior of the unit with a clean rag or microfiber towel and store it
indoors and out of freezing temperatures and direct sunlight.
