The wires in the mains lead are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
GREEN AND YELLOW - EARTH
BLUE - NEUTRAL

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of
this appliance may not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in
your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured GREEN AND
YELLOW must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter "E" or by the
earth symbol Eor coloured GREEN or
GREEN AND YELLOW.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with the letter "L" or coloured RED.
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be
connected to the terminal which is marked
with a letter "N" or coloured BLACK.
Note: If the terminals of the plug are unmarked
or if you are in any doubt consult a qualified
electrician.
If a (BS 1363) 13 amp. plug is used this must
be fitted with a 13 amp. fuse.

Important
•Read the instructions in conjunction
with the illustrations before using the
appliance.
•Check that the voltage rating at the
bottom of the appliance corresponds to
your mains voltage.
•The appliance should be connected to
an earthed mains socket by means of a
3-pin plug.
•While using the appliance the water
level should never be lower than the
transparent window of the water tank.
•Never immerse the appliance in water.
•Unplug the appliance before cleaning.
•You may clean the appliance with a
damp cloth.
•If the mains cord of this appliance is
damaged, it must only be replaced by
Philips or their service representative,
as special tools and/or parts are
required.
Espresso
Espresso is made by pumping hot water
rapidly and at a high pressure through ground
Espresso type coffee.
This tasty Espresso coffee is best served in
special small-sized cups (50 ml).
•Your Espresso coffee will be at optimum
temperature, if the filter holder is screwed
into place while the machine is heating up.
•You can pre-heat your cups by rinsing them
with hot tap water.
•To obtain real Espresso with a nice crest of
"crema" (foam) use genuine Espresso type
coffee.
- Ensure that there is enough water in the tank.
- Switch the appliance on. The two pilot lights will
come on (fig. 4).
- Insert the 1 cup filter or the 2 cup filter into the
filter holder (fig. 5).
- For 1 cup, place 1 level measuring spoonful of
coffee into the 1 cup filter.
For 2 cups, place 2 level measuring spoonsful
into the 2 cup filter (fig. 6).
- Press the coffee down with the base of the
measuring spoon (fig. 7).
- If necessary, clean traces of coffee off the edge
of the filter and off the water outlet of the
machine.
Before using for the first time
- Wash the removable water tank, the coffee
filters and the filter holder in hot soapy water.
Rinse with clean water.
- Fill the water tank (figs. 2 and 3).
- Pump about half a tankful of water through the
appliance as described in section "Espresso",
but without ground Espresso coffee in the filter.
It is advisable to perform this operation again
after a period of disuse.

- Position the filter holder (fig. 8) and screw in
(fig. 9).
- Place 1 or 2 Espresso cup(s) (approx. 50 cc)
under the spouts of the filter holder (fig. 10a,
10b).
- After pilot light "Temperature" has gone out you
can set the selector to position "Espresso" (k)
(fig. 11).
Hot water will then be pumped through the
ground coffee and after a few seconds the
Espresso coffee will start flowing into the cup(s)
(fig. 12).
- Re-set the selector to
position "Closed" (O)
as soon as there is
enough Espresso in
the cup(s) (fig. 13).
Some steam may
escape from the
automatic bleed
valve in the drip
basin.
- Serve and savour your Espresso right away!
"Cappuccino"
"Cappuccino" is the Italian name for Espresso
with a little milk and a layer of milk froth.
The froth is made from cold milk in a jug
using the steam pipe. The froth, together with
a little milk, is added to the Espresso.
The steampipe of your Espresso machine is
equipped with a handy accessory, named
"Cappuccino Extra". This will help you to
make an excellent milk froth for Cappuccino,
simply and effectively.
•First prepare the milk froth, then the
Espresso.
•Use the wider special "Cappuccino" cups
(approx. 70 ml) for the same quantity of
coffee.
- Switch the appliance
on by setting switch
"On/Off" to position |
(fig. 14).
If the appliance is
cold, both pilot lights
will now come on. If
the appliance is
already hot, only pilot
light "On" will come
on.
- Set the temperature switch to position "Steam"
(s) (fig.15).
The orange pilot light "Temperature" will come
on (fig. 16).
After some time the orange pilot light will go
out. This means that the appliance is ready for
making steam.
- Half fill a milk jug
with cold milk.
- Swing the steam
pipe to the most
suitable position
(fig. 17).

- Keep the jug under

- Set the selector to
position "Steam" ç
(fig. 19).
The appliance will make a ticking sound.
After a short while steam will come out of the
steam pipe, making the milk bubble (fig. 20).
- As soon as you have
enough froth, set the
selector to position
"Closed" O(fig. 21).
- Then remove the milk
jug.
-Clean the steam
pipe with some
additional steam to
remove remaining
milk from the inside.
Remaining milk can
give a bad smell or taste the next time you use
your appliance. (Please also refer to section
"Cleaning".)
The appliance is now ready for making
Espresso.
- Place the filter holder with Espresso coffee into
the appliance and make Espresso. (Please
refer to section "Espresso".)
- Add sugar and milk to taste.
- Place one or two tablespoons of froth on to the
Espresso. Sprinkle with some cocoa powder.
Tapping hot water
To make tea or to prepare other hot drinks you
can tap hot water from your Espresso machine.
- Set the temperature switch to position "Hot
water" å(fig. 22)
- Set the selector to position "Steam" ç
(fig. 23).
- Hot water will now
come from the
steam pipe (fig. 24).
- Set the selector
back to position
"Closed" O.
After use
Important: After
making Espresso or steam the appliance
bleeds automatically. As a result, some steam
will be produced in the drip basin.
Empty the drip basin regularly.
- Switch off by setting switch "On/Off" to
position O. Red pilot light "On" will go out.
- Unscrew the filter holder (fig. 25).
- Move the filter clamp forwards (fig. 26).

- After cleaning, move
the filter clamp
backwards (fig. 28).
- The filter holder may be stored screwed on to
the appliance (fig. 29).
Cleaning
Always clean the "Cappuccino Extra" accessory
of the steam pipe after making Cappuccino:
- Remove the outside pipe by pulling in the
direction of the arrow (fig. 30). Please note: the
accessory may be hot after use!
- Rinse the outside pipe under the tap (fig. 31).
- Let some steam
escape to clean the
inner section (fig. 32).
- Finish cleaning with a damp cloth (fig. 33).
- Push the outer pipe back into place. Push firmly
to ensure that it fits well at the top (fig. 34).
- Wash the filters, the filter holder, the water tank,
the drip-basin and grid regularly.
The drip-basin and grid can be removed as
illustrated in fig. 35 and 36.
- Regularly clean the water outlet opening,
removing any stuck grains of coffee.
Descaling
Descale your Espresso machine regularly.
With normal household use the following rule
applies:
• If you have soft water (hardness up to
18 °DH / 22.5 °Clarke) - two or three times a
year.
• If you have hard water (hardness over
18 °DH / 22.5 °Clarke) - four or five times a
year.
Your water supply company can inform you about
the hardness of your water.
- Operate the appliance twice as indicated in
section "Making Espresso", but now half fill the
water tank with ordinary vinegar and do not
fill the filter with ground coffee.
- To remove any scale that has set in the inside
of the steam pipe, let the appliance produce
vinegar steam for some time.
- To remove all remainders of vinegar and scale,
operate the appliance twice with fresh cold

water in the same manner.
Then clean all removable items.
•For persistent scale interrupt the descaling
procedure once or twice after pumping and
steaming hot vinegar and let the vinegar act
on the scale for at least half an hour. Then
continue the procedure.
•If water has trouble getting out of the outlet
opening: clean/descale the perforated
outlet plate.
- Switch off the appliance.
- Unplug the appliance and let it cool down.

If the appliance does not function as
required
If your Espresso machine does not operate as
expected you may, in most cases, find the
cause and cure below. Also refer to the
corresponding sections in your instructions for
use!
•The pump is too noisy.
- There is no water in the water tank. Refill with
water.
- The water tank is not placed correctly.
•The machine does not produce Espresso.
- There is no water in the water tank or the water
tank is not placed correctly.
- The coffee has been ground too finely and/or
has been tapped down too much in the filter.
- The water outlet opening is clogged.
- The machine needs descaling.
•Espresso flows over from the side of the
filter holder.
- Filter holder has been placed incorrectly.
- Filter holder has not been screwed onto the
appliance tight enough.
- Coffee grains need to be removed from outlet
opening.
- Filter holder has remained screwed onto the
appliance too tightly for too long. Clean the
outlet opening.
•The "crema" crest on the Espresso is too
thin or isn't there altogether.
- The coffee has not been tapped down firmly
enough.
- There was not enough coffee in the filter.
- The machine was not heated-up sufficiently.
(Had the pilot light gone out?)
- The coffee had been ground too coarsely.
- The coffee was not fresh.
- The water was not fresh.
•The "crema" is too dark and/or the
Espresso has a burning taste.
- The coffee has been ground too finely.
- The coffee has been tapped down too much.
•The Espresso is not hot enough.
- Hot water has passed through the coffee grains
too quickly. Making two cups of Espresso
should take 25-40 seconds.
- Coffee has not been tapped down firmly
enough in the filter.
- Coffee has been ground too coarsely. Try a
more finely ground type of Espresso coffee.
- Pre-heat the filter holder by keeping it screwed
in the outlet opening while the machine is
warming-up.
- Pre-heat the cups by rinsing with hot tap water
before filling.

- With the help of a coin unscrew the outlet plate
(fig. 37, 38).
- Clean the outlet plate and valve with a firm
brush.
- To descale, leave the plate immersed in
ordinary vinegar for min. 15 minutes.
- Rinse with clean water.

[[ Espresso Milkshake
2 small cups of extra strong Espresso
2 spoonfuls of sugar (10 g)
4 tablespoons of coffee ice-cream or vanilla ice-
cream
2 dl milk
Make the two cups of Espresso with twice the
normal quantity of ground coffee (using the 2-cup
filter instead of the 1-cup filter)
Let the Espresso cool down.
Put all the ingredients into a blender or
foodprocessor.
Mix well for a couple of seconds.
Pour the mixture into a tall glass and serve it with
a straw.

2 cups of Espresso
4 tablespoons of rum
4 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoonful of vanilla sugar
2 tablespoons of cream (not whipped)
2 teaspoonfuls of grated lemon skin
Mix all the ingredients with a mixer.
Pour the drink out into the glasses and add an
ice-cube to each glass.
Garnish with the grated lemon skin.
[[ CaféTropicana (two people)
4 cups of Espresso
1 dl of cream
1 tablespoon of castor sugar
1⁄2teaspoonful of ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons of brown castor sugar
1 shot glass (50 ml) of fruit liqueur
2 slices of orange
Whisk the cream together with 1 tablespoon of
castor sugar and half a teaspoonful of cinnamon
until just still liquid.
Pour half a shot glass of fruit liqueur into each
glass. (Use heat-resistant glasses!)
Add a tablespoon of brown castor sugar to each
glass.
Pour the hot Espresso into the glasses.
Over the rounded side of a spoon pour the cream
into the glasses.
Garnish each glass with a slice of orange.

•Lisez le mode d’emploi et regardez
attentivement les illustrations avant la

•Assurez-vous, avant de brancher

•Branchez l’appareil uniquement sur une
prise de terre.
•Pendant le fonctionnement, veillez àce
que le niveau d’eau ne descende jamais
en-dessous de l’ouverture transparente
du réservoir d’eau.
•N’immergez jamais l’appareil dans l’eau.
•Débranchez toujours l’appareil avant de
le nettoyer.
•Vous pouvez nettoyer l’appareil avec un
chiffon humide.
•Si le cordon d’alimentation de l’appareil
est endommagé, il doit être remplacé
uniquement par un réparateur
indépendant agréé Philips, car des
équipements et des composants
spécifiques sont exigés.
CaféEspresso
Le caféespresso est obtenu par passage
d’eau très chaude sous pression àtravers de
la poudre de café.
Le caféespresso est servi dans de petites
tasses spéciales (50 ml).
•Votre caféespresso sera àune température
optimum si le support de filtre est mis en
place dans l’appareil pendant le chauffage.
•Vous pouvez préchauffer vos tasses en les
rinçant avec de l’eau chaude du robinet.
•Pour obtenir un vrai espresso avec une
belle couche crémeuse (mousse), utilisez
un type de caféespresso authentique.
•Assurez-vous qu’il y a assez d’eau dans le
réservoir.
• Mettez l’appareil en marche. Les deux témoins
lumineux s’allument (fig. 4).
• Placez le filtre pour 1 tasse ou le filtre pour
deux tasses dans le porte-filtre (fig. 5).
• Remplissez le filtre de la quantité de café
nécessaire (une cuillère doseuse pour une
tasse, deux pour deux tasses, remplies à ras)
(fig. 6).
• Tassez le café moulu avec la partie inférieure
de la cuillère doseuse (fig. 7).
• Si nécessaire, essuyez le bord du filtre et la
sortie d’eau chaude de l’appareil.
Avant la première utilisation
- Lavez le réservoir d’eau amovible, les filtres et
le porte-filtre à l’eau chaude savonneuse, et
rincez-les soigneusement.
- Remplissez le réservoir d’eau (fig. 2 et 3)
- Remplissez à peu près à moitié le réservoir
d’eau et faites fonctionner l’appareil une fois à
vide, comme indiqué au chapitre “Café
espresso”. Il est recommandé de renouveler
cette opération après toute période prolongée
de non-utilisation de l’appareil.

• Placez le porte-filtre (fig. 8) et vissez-le (fig. 9).
• Placez 1 ou 2 tasses (environ 50 ml) sous les
becs verseurs du porte-filtre (fig. 10a, 10b).
• Lorsque le témoin lumineux “Température”
s’éteint, appuyez sur l’interrupteur “Espresso”
k(fig. 11).
L’eau passe sous pression au travers du
mélange de café et au bout de quelques
secondes le café espresso commence à couler
dans la (les) tasse (s) (fig. 12).
• Remettez l’interrupteur
sur la position “O”
(fermé) dès qu’il y a
suffisamment de café
espresso dans la (les)
tasse (s) (fig. 13).
Il est possible qu’un
peu de vapeur
s’échappe à ce
moment-là de la valve
automatique de purge
dans le bac d’égouttage.
• Servez et buvez votre café espresso
immédiatement.
“Cappuccino”
“Cappuccino”est le nom italien d’un café
espresso servi avec un peu de lait et une
couche de mousse de lait.
Cette mousse de lait est faite àpartir de lait
froid réchauffédans un pot àl’aide du tube à
vapeur. La mousse est déposée sur le café
expresso, avec ou sans lait selon les goûts.
Le tube vapeur de votre appareil est équipé
d’un accessoire spécial appelé“Cappuccino
Extra”. Cet accessoire vous aidera àpréparer
simplement et efficacement une excellente
mousse de lait pour Cappuccino.
•Faites d’abord mousser le lait; préparez
ensuite le caféespresso.
•Attention: Utilisez pour la même quantitéde
cafédes tasses plus larges spéciales
Cappuccino (contenance 70 ml).
- Mettez l’appareil en
marche |(fig. 14).
Les témoins
lumineux s’allument
en même temps, si
l’appareil est froid.
Si l’appareil est déjà
chaud, seul le té-
moin lumineux de
l’interrupteur marche/
arrêt s’allume.
- Mettez l’interrupeur température sur la position
“Vapeur” s(fig. 15). Le témoin lumineux
orange “Température” s’allume (fig. 16).
Après quelques instants, le témoin lumineux
orange s’éteint. L’appareil est maintenant prêt
à l’utilisation.
- Prenez un pot à lait
et remplissez-le à
peu près à moitié de
lait froid.
- Vous pouvez tourner
le tube de vapeur
dans la position
désirée (fig. 17).

- Tenez le pot de lait
sous le tube de
vapeur.
Notez s.v.p.: les

- Tournez le bouton de
réglage de vapeur
sur la position “vapeur” ç(fig. 19).
La vapeur s’échappe du tube et fait bouillonner
le lait (fig. 20). Une fine mousse de lait est
alors produite.
- Lorsqu’il s’est formé
suffisamment de
mousse, placez le
bouton de réglage
sur la position O
“fermé” (fig. 21).
- Retirez le pot de lait.
- Nettoyez le tube de
vapeur en faisant
passer un petit peu
de vapeur supplémentaire pour retirer le lait
restant àl'intérieur. En effet le lait résiduel
peut donner une mauvaise odeur ou mauvais
gout la prochaine fois que vous utiliserez votre
appareil. (Voir aussi paragraphe "Nettoyage".).
Maintenant, l’appareil est prêt pour faire un
espresso.
- Placez le porte-filtre avec du café dans
l’appareil. (Consultez le chapitre “Café
espresso”.)
- Ajoutez du sucre et du lait selon votre goût.
- Déposez délicatement une ou deux cuillères de
mousse de lait sur le café espresso.
Saupoudrez avec du chocolat en poudre ou de
la canelle.
Préparation de l’eau chaude
Pour faire du thé ou d’autres boissons chaudes,
vous pouvez utiliser de l’eau chaude de votre
machine espresso.
- Mettez l’interrupteur “température” sur la
position “Eau chaude” å(fig. 22).
- Mettez le bouton de réglage vapeur sur la
position “vapeur” ç(fig. 23).
- Maintenant, l’eau
chaude pourra
couler du tube
vapeur (fig. 24).
- Remettez le bouton
vapeur sur la
position O.
Après utilisation
Important: Après une production de vapeur
ou la préparation d’un espresso, l’appareil
goutte automatiquement. De ce fait, videz le
bac d’égouttage régulièrement.
- Arrêtez l’appareil en mettant l’interrupteur
marche/arrêt sur la position O. Le témoin
lumineux "marche" s’éteint.
- Dévissez le porte-filtre (fig. 25).
- Repoussez le fixe-filtre (fig. 26).

- Après nettoyage,
tirez le fixe-filtre en
arrière (fig. 28).
- Le support de filtre peut à nouveau être remis
en place sur l’appareil (fig. 29).
Nettoyage
Nettoyez toujours l’accessoire “Cappuccino
Extra” du tube vapeur après la préparation d’un
Cappuccino.
- Retirez le tube en tirant dans le sens de la
flèche (fig. 30). Attention: l’accessoire est
chaud après
utilisation!
- Rincez-le sous le
robinet (fig. 31).
- Ouvrez le bouton de
réglage vapeur et
laissez s’échapper la
vapeur pour nettoyer
l’intérieur du tube
(fig. 32).
- Terminez avec un
chiffon humide (fig. 33).
- Remettez en place le tube de vapeur. Assurez-
vous de sa bonne position en haut (fig. 34).
- Lavez les filtres, le porte-filtre, le réservoir
d’eau, le bac d’égouttage et la grille
régulièrement.
Le bac d’égouttage et la grille peuvent être
retirés (voir fig. 35 et 36).
- Nettoyez régulièrement le logement du porte-
filtre pour enlever les restes de café.
Détartrage
Détartrez régulièrement votre appareil Espresso.
En cas d’utilisation moyenne:
•2 à3 fois par an si la dureté de l’eau est
inférieure à30°TH;
•4 à5 fois par an si la dureté de l’eau est
supérieure à30°TH.
La Compagnie des Eaux de votre région vous
renseignera sur le degré de dureté de votre eau.
- Faites fonctionner l’appareil deux fois comme
indiqué dans le chapitre “Café Espresso”.
Utilisez du vinaigre blanc au lieu d’eau (deux
tasses à café espresso) pour remplir le réser-
voir et laissez fonctionner l’appareil àvide.
- Pour enlever le tartre éventuel de l’intérieur du
tube de vapeur, faites fonctionner l’appareil à
vapeur au vinaigre.
- Lorsque le détartrage est terminé, faites
fonctionner l’appareil deux fois avec de l’eau
fraîche afin d’éliminer les restes de vinaigre et
de tartre.
Lavez les parties amovibles.

•Pour un détartrage très efficace, interrompez
l’opération de détartrage une ou deux fois
après avoir commandé la pompe et vaporisé
du vinaigre chaud, et laissez-le réagir sur le
calcaire pendant au moins une demi-heure.
Continuez ensuite l’opération.
•Si l’eau chaude ne sort plus (ou trop peu)
des orifices de sortie: nettoyez/détartrez la
grille.
- Arrêtez l’appareil.
- Débranchez l’appareil et laissez-le refroidir.

Votre appareil ne fonctionne pas
correctement?
Vous devez trouver la cause et y apporter un
remède.
Vous pouvez également vous reporter aux
chapitres correspondants dans le mode
d’emploi!
•La pompe est trop bruyante
- Il n’y a plus d’eau dans le réservoir.
Remplissez-le.
- Le réservoir d’eau n’est pas placé
correctement.
•L’appareil ne produit pas d’espresso
- Il n’y a plus d’eau dans le réservoir, ou ce
dernier n’est pas placé correctement.
- Le café a été moulu trop finement et/ou il a
été trop tassé.
- La sortie d’eau de l’appareil est obstruée.
- La machine a besoin d’être détartrée.
De l’eau coule par les côtés du porte-filtre
- Le porte-filtre n’a pas été mis en place
correctement.
- Le porte-filtre a bien été vissé dans le
support, mais pas assez fort.
- Il faut retirer de la mouture des orifices de
sortie.
- Le porte-filtre est resté vissé trop longtemps
sur l’appareil. Nettoyez les oririfices de sortie.
•La partie crémeuse de l’espresso est trop
fine ou n’existe pas
- Le café n’a pas été tassé correctement dans
le filtre.
- Il n’y a pas assez de café dans le filtre.
- La machine a trop chauffé. (Le témoin
lumineux est-il éteint ?)
- Le café a été moulu trop grossièrement.
- Le café n’était pas frais.
- L’eau n’était pas fraîche.
•La crème est trop noire et/ou le caféa un
goût de brûlé
- Le café a été moulu trop finement.
- Le café a été trop tassé.
•L’espresso n’est pas assez chaud
- L’eau chaude est passée à travers la mouture
de café trop rapidement. La préparation de
deux tasses de café espresso doit prendre
25 à 40 secondes.
- Le café n’a pas été tassé assez fort dans le
filtre.
- Le café a été moulu trop grossièrement.
Essayez un type de café espresso beaucoup
plus fin.
- Réchauffez le porte-filtre en le maintenant
vissé dans le support pendant que la
machine chauffe.
- Préchauffez les tasses en les rinçant à l’eau
chaude du robinet avant de les remplir.
- Dévissez la grille à l’aide d’une pièce
(fig. 37, 38).
- Nettoyez la grille et la valve avec une brosse
dure.
- Pour détartrer, faites tremper la grille dans du
vinaigre pendant 15 minutes.
- Rincez à l’eau claire.

[[ Espresso Milkshake
2 petites tasses de café espresso très fort
2 cuillères à soupe de sucre (10 g)
4 cuillères à soupe de crème glacée au café ou à
la vanille
2 dl de lait demi-écrémé
Faites 2 tasses de café espresso avec 2 fois la
quantité normale de café moulu (utilisez le filtre
2 tasses au lieu du filtre 1 tasse). Laissez
refroidir. Mettez tous les ingrédients dans un
mixer ou un robot. Mélangez bien pendant
quelques secondes. Versez le mélange dans un
verre haut et servez avec une paille.

2 tasses d’espresso
4 cuillères à soupe de rhum
4 cuillères à soupe de sucre
1 cuillère à café de sucre vanille
2 cuillères à soupe de crème (non battue)
2 zestes de citron
Mélangez tous les ingrédients dans un mixer.
Versez dans les verres et ajoutez un glaçon dans
chaque verre.

Fouettez la crème avec une cuillère à soupe de
sucre et une demi-cuillère à café de cannelle
jusqu’à obtenir un liquide. Ajoutez la moitié d’un
verre de liqueur dans chaque verre. (Utilisez des
verres résistant à la chaleur). Ajoutez une cuillère
à soupe de sucre brun dans chaque verre.
Versez l’espresso chaud dans les verres. Ajoutez
deux cuillères bien pleines de crème. Garnissez
d’écorces d’orange.

Wichtig
•Lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung
sorgfältig durch und sehen Sie sich
dabei die Abbildungen an, bevor Sie das
Gerät zum ersten Mal benutzen.
•Prüfen Sie vor Inbetriebnahme, ob die
Spannungsangabe auf der Unterseite
des Geräts mit der örtlichen
Netzspannung übereinstimmt.
•Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an eine
Schutzkontaktsteckdose an.
•Nehmen Sie das Gerät niemals in
Betrieb, wenn der Wasserspiegel in dem
durchsichtigen Fenster des
Wasserbehälters nicht sichtbar ist.
•Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in
Wasser.
•Ziehen Sie den Stecker aus der
Steckdose, bevor Sie das Gerät
reinigen.
•Sie können das Gerät mit einem

Espresso
Espresso wird zubereitet, indem sehr heißes
Wasser schnell und unter hohem Druck durch
gemahlenen Espresso-Kaffee gepreßt wird.
Der kräftig schmeckende Espresso wird in
speziellen kleinen Tassen von 50 ml serviert.
•Ihr Espresso hat die richtige Temperatur,
wenn der Filterhalter während des
Aufheizens schon angeschraubt war.
•Sie können die Tassen mit heißem
Leitungswasser anwärmen.
•Einen richtigen Espresso mit einer
hübschen Haube aus Milchschaum erhalten
Sie, wenn Sie echten Espresso-Kaffee
verwenden.
- Vergewissern Sie sich, daß ausreichend
Wasser im Wasserbehälter ist.
- Schalten Sie das Gerät ein. Die beiden
Kontrollampen leuchten auf (Abb. 4).
- Setzen Sie den Filter für eine oder den Filter
für zwei Tassen in den Filterhalter (Abb. 5).
- Geben Sie einen gestrichenen Meßlöffel
gemahlenen Espresso-Kaffee in den Filter für
eine Tasse.
Geben Sie zwei gestrichene Meßlöffel in den
Filter für zwei Tassen (Abb. 6).
- Drücken Sie den Kaffee mit dem Meßlöffel an
(Abb. 7).
- Wischen Sie, falls erforderlich, den Rand des
Filters und den Wasserauslaß des Geräts von
Kaffeeresten sauber.
Vorbereitung zum Gebrauch
- Reinigen Sie den abnehmbaren
Wasserbehälter, die Kaffeefilter und den
Filterhalter in Wasser, dem Sie etwas
Spülmittel zugesetzt haben. Spülen Sie
gründlich mit klarem Wasser nach.
- Füllen Sie den Wasserbehälter (Abb. 2 und 3).
- Lassen Sie eine halbe Wasserbehälter-Füllung
durch das Gerät laufen, wie im Abschnitt
“Espresso” beschrieben, jedoch ohne den
gemahlenen Espresso-Kaffee im Filter.
Das gleiche empfiehlt sich, wenn Sie das Gerät
längere Zeit nicht verwendet haben.

- Setzen Sie den Filterhalter (Abb. 8) ein und
schrauben Sie ihn fest (Abb. 9).
- Stellen Sie eine bzw. zwei Espresso-Tassen
(50 ml) unter die Austrittsöffnung des
Filterhalters (Abb. 10a bzw. 10b).
- Wenn die orange Kontrollampe “Temperatur”
erloschen ist, können Sie den Wahlschalter auf
“Espresso” kstellen (Abb. 11).
Es wird dann heißes Wasser durch den
gemahlenen Kaffee gepumpt, und nach
wenigen Sekunden beginnt der Espresso in die
Tasse(n) zu fließen
(Abb. 12).
- Stellen Sie den
Wahlschalter auf
“Zu” O, wenn
genügend Espresso
in der Tasse / den
Tassen ist (Abb. 13).
Es kann dann etwas
Wasser aus dem
Entlüftungsventil in
die Auffangschale tropfen.
- Servieren oder genießen Sie den Espresso
umgehend!
Cappuccino
“Cappuccino”ist der italienische Name für
den Espresso mit ein wenig Milch und
Milchschaum. Der Milchschaum wird in einem
Krug aus kalter Milch mit der Dampfdüse
zubereitet. Dieser Milchschaum wird dem
Espresso mit ein wenig Milch zugefügt.
Die Dampfdüse Ihres Geräts ist mit einer
praktischen Einrichtung versehen, dem
“Cappuccino Extra”; damit können Sie leicht
einen vorzüglichen Milchschaum für Ihren
Cappuccino zubereiten.
•Stellen Sie zuerst den Milchschaum her,
dann den Espresso.
•Verwenden Sie die breiteren “Cappuccino-
Tassen”(ca. 70 ml) für dieselbe Kaffee-
Menge wie für Espresso!
- Schalten Sie das
Gerät ein (Abb. 14).
Wenn das Gerät kalt
ist, leuchten beide
Kontrollampen auf.
Ist das Gerät bereits
warm, leuchtet nur
die rote Kontrol-
lampe am Ein-/
Ausschalter.
- Stellen Sie den Temperaturregler auf “Dampf”
ss(Abb. 15).
Die orange Kontrollampe leuchtet auf
(Abb. 16).
Nach einer Weile erlischt die orange
Kontrollampe. Das Gerät ist nun zur
Dampferzeugung
bereit.
- Füllen Sie einen
Milchkrug halb mit
kalter Milch.
- Sie können die
Dampfdüse
ausschwenken und
so in die beste
Position bringen
(Abb. 17).

Dampfzufuhr, indem
Sie den Wahlschalter
auf “Zu” Ostellen
(Abb. 21).
- Nehmen Sie den
Milchkrug heraus.
- Entfernen Sie
restliche Milch nach Gebrauch mit einem
Dampfstoßaus der Dampfdüse.
Verbleibende Reste könnten bei der nächsten
Verwendung einen schlechten Geruch oder
einen unangenehmen Beigeschmack
verursachen. Vgl. den Abschnitt "Reinigung".
Jetzt ist das Gerät bereit, Espresso
zuzubereiten.
- Setzen Sie den Filterhalter mit dem Kaffee in
das Gerät und bereiten Sie den Espresso zu
(vgl. den Abschnitt “Espresso”).
- Fügen Sie nach Belieben Milch und Zucker zu.
- Geben Sie einen oder zwei Löffel Milchschaum
auf den Espresso. Streuen Sie ein wenig
Kakao-Puder darüber.
Heißes Wasser zubereiten
Für die Zubereitung von Tee und anderen heißen
Getränken können Sie von Ihrem Gerät heißes
Wasser entnehmen.
- Stellen Sie den Temperaturregler auf “Heißes
Wasser” å(Abb. 22).
Stellen Sie den Wahlschalter auf “Dampf” çç
(Abb. 23).
- Jetzt kommt heißes
Wasser aus der
Dampfdüse
(Abb. 24).
- Stellen Sie nach der
Entnahme den
Wahlschalter wieder
auf “Zu” O.
Nach dem Gebrauch
Wichtig: Nach Gebrauch entlüftet sich das
Gerät automatisch. Dadurch entwickelt sich
Dampf und Kondenswasser tropft in die
Auffangschale. Leeren Sie die Auffangschale
regelmäßig.
- Schalten Sie das Gerät aus, indem Sie den
Wahlschalter auf “Zu” Ostellen. Die rote
Kontrollampe erlischt.
- Schrauben Sie den Filterhalter heraus
(Abb. 25).
- Schieben Sie die Filterklammer nach vorn
(Abb. 26).
