Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance corresponds to the

itself shows visible damage, or if the appliance has been dropped

If the mains cord is damaged, you must have it replaced by Philips, a
service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualied persons in
order to avoid a hazard.
Never leave the appliance unattended when it is connected to the
mains.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
Do not let the mains cord come into contact with the hot soleplate of
the iron.
Caution
Only connect the appliance to an earthed wall socket.
Check the mains cord regularly for possible damage.
The soleplate of the iron can become extremely hot and may cause
burns if touched.
When you have nished ironing, when you clean the appliance, when
you ll or empty the water tank and also when you leave the iron even
for a short while: set the steam control to position 0, put the iron on
its heel and remove the mains plug from the wall socket.
Always place and use the iron on a stable, level and horizontal surface.
Do not put perfume, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids or
other chemicals in the water tank.

Before rst use
1 Remove any sticker or protective foil from the soleplate.
2 Let the iron heat up to maximum temperature and pass the iron
over a piece of damp cloth for several minutes to remove any
residues from the soleplate.
Preparing for use
Filling the water tank
Do not put perfume, vinegar, starch, descaling agents, ironing aids,
chemically descaled water or other chemicals in the water tank.
Never immerse the iron in water.
1 Switch off the appliance and unplug it.
2 Set the steam control to position 0 (= no steam).
3 Openthecapofthellingopening.
4 Tilt the iron backwards.
5 Fill the water tank with tap water up to the maximum level with the
llingcup.
Do not ll the tank beyond the MAX indication.
Note: If the tap water in your area is very hard, we advise you to use distilled
water.
6 Closethecapofthellingopening(‘click’).
Setting the temperature
1 Put the iron on its heel.
2 To set the required ironing temperature, turn the temperature dial
to the appropriate position.
Check the laundry care label for the required ironing temperature:
1Synthetic fabrics (e.g. acrylic, nylon, polyamide, polyester)
1Silk
2Wool
3Cotton, linen
If you do not know what kind or kinds of fabric an article is made of,
determine the right ironing temperature by ironing a part that is not visible
when you wear or use the article.
Silk, woollen and synthetic materials: iron the reverse side of the fabric to
prevent shiny patches. Avoid using the spray function to prevent stains.
Start ironing the articles that require the lowest ironing temperature, such
as those made of synthetic bres.
3 Put the mains plug in an earthed wall socket.

4 When the temperature light goes out, wait a while before you start
ironing.
During ironing, the temperature light goes on from time to time.This
indicates that the iron is heating up to the set temperature.
Using the appliance
Note: The iron may give off some smoke when you use it for the rst time. This
stops after a short while.
Steam ironing
1 Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank.
2 Settherecommendedironingtemperature(seechapter‘Preparing
foruse’,section‘Settingthetemperature’).
3 Set the appropriate steam setting. Make sure that the steam setting
you select is suitable for the ironing temperature selected:
1 - 2 for moderate steam (temperature settings 2to 3)
3 - 4 for maximum steam (temperature settings 3 to MAX)
Note:The iron starts to produce steam as soon as it has reached the
set temperature.
Ironing without steam
1 Set the steam control to position 0 (= no steam).
2 Settherecommendedironingtemperature(seechapter‘Preparing
foruse’,section‘Settingthetemperature’).
Features
Spray function
You can use the spray function at any temperature to moisten the article
to be ironed.This helps remove stubborn creases.
1 Make sure that there is enough water in the water tank.
2 Press the spray button several times to moisten the article to be
ironed.
Steam boost
A powerful steam boost helps remove stubborn creases.
The steam boost function can only be used at temperature settings
between 2 and MAX.

1 Press and release the steam boost button.
Vertical steam boost (all types except GC3109 and GC3106)
1 The steam boost function can also be used when you hold the iron
in vertical position.
This is useful for removing creases from hanging clothes, curtains etc.
Never direct the steam at people.
Drip stop (GC3135, GC3130, GC3128, GC3126, GC3125,
GC3121, GC3120, GC3115, GC3112, GC3110 only)
This iron is equipped with a drip-stop function: the iron automatically stops
producing steam when the temperature is too low to prevent water from
dripping out of the soleplate.When this happens you may hear a sound.
Automatic Anti-Calc system (GC3135, GC3130, GC3128,
GC3126, GC3125, GC3120, GC3117, GC3116 only)
1 The built-in Anti-Calc system reduces the build-up of scale and
guarantees a longer life for the iron.
Automatic shut-off function (GC3135 only)
The automatic shut-off function automatically switches off the iron if it
has not been moved for a while.

The red auto-off light ashes to indicate that the iron has been
switched off by the automatic shut-off function.
To let the iron heat up again:
1 Pick up the iron or move it slightly.
The red auto-off light goes out.
If the temperature of the soleplate has dropped below the set
ironing temperature, the temperature light goes on.
2 If the temperature light goes on after you have moved the iron, wait
for it to go out before you start ironing.
Note: If the temperature light does not go on after you move the iron, the
soleplate still has the right temperature and the iron is ready for use.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning
1 Set the steam control to position 0, remove the plug from the wall
socket and let the iron cool down.
2 Wipeakesandanyotherdepositsoffthesoleplatewithadamp
cloth and a non-abrasive (liquid) cleaning agent.
To keep the soleplate smooth, avoid hard contact with metal objects.
Never use a scouring pad, vinegar or other chemicals to clean the
soleplate.
3 Clean the upper part of the iron with a damp cloth.
4 Regularly rinse the water tank with water. Empty the water tank
after cleaning.
Calc-Clean function
You can use the Calc-Clean function to remove scale and impurities.
Use the Calc-Clean function once every two weeks. If the water in your
area is very hard (i.e. when akes come out of the soleplate during ironing),
use the Calc-Clean function more frequently.
1 Set the steam control to position 0, remove the plug from the wall
socket and let the iron cool down.
2 Fill the water tank to the maximum level.
Do not pour vinegar or other descaling agents in the water tank.
3 Set the temperature dial to the maximum temperature.
4 Put the mains plug in an earthed wall socket.
5 Unplug the iron when the temperature light goes out.

6 Hold the iron over the sink, press and hold the Calc-Clean button
and gently shake the iron to and fro.
Steam and boiling water come out of the soleplate. Impurities and
akes(ifany)areushedout.
7 Release the Calc-Clean button when all the water in the tank has
been used up.
8 Repeat the Calc-Clean process if the iron still contains a lot of
impurities.
After the Calc-Clean process
1 Put the plug in the wall socket and let the iron heat up to allow the
soleplate to dry.
2 Unplug the iron when the temperature light goes out.
3 Move the hot iron gently over a piece of used cloth to remove any
water stains that may have formed on the soleplate.
4 Let the iron cool down before you store it.
Storage
1 Set the steam control to position 0, remove the plug from the wall
socket and let the iron cool down.
2 Empty the water tank.
3 Wind the mains cord round the cord storage facility.
4 Store the iron on its heel in a safe and dry place.
Environment
Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste
at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the environment.

Troubleshooting
This chapter summarises the most common problems you could
encounter with the appliance. If you are unable to solve the problem with
the information below, contact the Consumer Care Centre in your country.

Sebelum menggunakan alat pertama kali.
1 Lepaskan stiker atau foil pelindung dari pelat tapak setrika.
2 Panaskan setrika sampai suhu maksimum dan setrikakan pada sehelai
kain lembab selama beberapa menit untuk menghilangkan sisa-sisa
kotoran dari tapak setrika.
Menyiapkan penggunaan
Mengisi tangki air.
Jangan memasukkan parfum, cuka, kanji, zat pembersih kerak, bahan
pelembut atau bahan kimia lainnya ke dalam tangki air.
Jangan sekali-kali merendam setrika di dalam air.
1 Matikan alat dan cabut stekernya.
2 Setel kontrol uap ke posisi 0 (= tanpa uap).
3 Buka tutup lubang pengisian.
4 Miringkan setrika ke belakang.
5 Isi tangki air dengan air keran sampai batas maksimum dengan cangkir
pengisi air.
Jangan mengisi tangki air melewati tanda batas MAX.
Catatan: Jika air keran di tempat Anda sangat sadah, kami sarankan Anda
menggunakan air yang disuling.
6 Pasangtutuplubangpengisian(‘klik’).
Menyetel suhu
1 Letakkan setrika pada tumitnya..
2 Untuk menyetel suhu penyetrikaan yang diperlukan, setel putaran
suhu ke posisi yang sesuai.
Periksa label perawatan pakaian untuk mengetahui suhu setrika yang
diperlukan:
1Bahan sintetis (spt. akrilik, nilon, poliamida, poliester)
1Sutera
2Wol
3Katun, linen
Jika Anda tidak tahu jenis kain atau bahannya terbuat dari apa, tentukan
suhu penyetrikaan yang benar dengan cara menyetrika pada bagian yang tak
terlihat apabila Anda mengenakannya.
Sutra, bahan seperti wol dan sintetis: balikkan kain saat menyetrikanya guna
mencegah bercak-bercak yang mengkilap. Hindari menggunakan fungsi
semprot untuk mencegah noda.
Mulai menyetrika bahan yang memerlukan suhu setrika paling rendah,
seperti bahan kain serat sintetis.
3 Masukkan steker listrik pada stopkontak dinding yang telah
dibumikan.

4 Apabila lampu suhu padam, tunggu sebentar sebelum mulai
menyetrika.
Sewaktu menyetrika, lampu suhu akan terus menyala. Ini menandakan
bahwa setrika sedang memanas hingga mencapai suhu yang disetel.
Menggunakan alat
Catatan: Setrika ini mungkin akan mengeluarkan asap saat pertama kali

Fitur
Fungsi semprot

GC3106)
1 Fungsi semburan uap juga dapat digunakan apabila Anda memegang
setrika pada posisi berdiri.
Ini berguna untuk melepaskan kusut dari baju yang digantung, tirai, dll.
Jangan sekali-kali mengarahkan uap pada orang lain.
Penghenti tetesan (GC3135, GC3130, GC3128, GC3126,
GC3125, GC3121, GC3120, GC3115, GC3112, GC3110 saja)
Setrika ini dilengkapi fungsi penghenti tetesan air: setrika berhenti
mengeluarkan uap secara otomatis apabila suhu terlalu rendah, untuk
mencegah air menetes keluar dari tapak seterika. Apabila ini terjadi, Anda
akan mendengar bunyi.
Sistem Anti-Calc otomatis (GC3135, GC3130, GC3128,
GC3126, GC3125, GC3120, GC3117, GC3116 saja)
1 Sistem Anti-Calc otomatis bawaan mengurangi penumpukan kerak
dan menjaga masa pakai setrika lebih lama.
Fungsi mati otomatis (GC3135 saja)
Fungsi mati otomatis secara otomatis mematikan setrika jika tidak
digerakkan selama beberapa saat.

Lampu mati-otomatis warna merah akan berkedip untuk menandakan
bahwa setrika sudah dimatikan oleh fungsi mati otomatis.
Untuk memanaskan kembali setrika:
1 Angkat setrika atau gerakkan sedikit.
Lampu mati-otomatis warna merah padam.
Jika suhu pada tapak setrika turun di bawah suhu penyetrikaan yang
disetel, lampu suhu menyala.
2 Jika lampu suhu menyala setelah Anda menggerakkan setrika, tunggu
sampai lampu padam sebelum Anda mulai menyetrika.
Catatan: Jika lampu suhu tidak menyala setelah Anda menggerakkan setrika,
suhu tapak setrika tetap sesuai dan setrika siap untuk digunakan.
Membersihkan dan pemeliharaan
Membersihkan
1 Setel kontrol uap ke posisi 0, lepaskan steker dari stopkontak dinding
dan biarkan setrika dingin.
2 Seka kerak air dan endapan lain dari tapak setrika dengan kain
lembab dan bahan pembersih (cairan) non-abrasif.
Agar pelat tapak setrika licin, jangan sampai tapaknya mengenai benda
logam. Jangan sekali-kali menggunakan sabut gosok, cuka atau bahan kimia
lainnya untuk membersihkan pelat tapak setrika.
3 Bersihkan bagian atas setrika dengan kain lembab.
4 Secara teratur, cucilah tangki air dengan air. Kosongkan tangki air
setelah dibersihkan.
Fungsi Calc-Clean
Anda dapat menggunakan fungsi Calc-Clean untuk menghilangkan kerak
dan kotoran.
Gunakan fungsi ‘Calc-Clean’ dua minggu sekali. Jika air di daerah Anda
sangat sadah (yaitu apabila serpihan-serpihan kotor keluar dari tapak setrika
selama menyetrika), fungsi ‘Calc-Clean’ harus digunakan lebih sering.
1 Setel kontrol uap ke posisi 0, lepaskan steker dari stopkontak dinding
dan biarkan setrika dingin.
2 Isi tangki air sampai tingkat maksimum.
Jangan menuangkan cuka atau bahan zat pembersih kerak lainnya ke
dalam tangki air.

3 Setel putaran suhu ke posisi suhu maksimum.
4 Masukkan steker listrik pada stopkontak dinding yang telah
dibumikan.
5 Cabut steker setrika setelah lampu suhu padam.
6 Pegang setrika di atas baskom, tekan dan tahan tombol Calc-Clean
dan goyang-goyangkan setrika dengan perlahan-lahan.
Uap dan air yang mendidih akan keluar dari tapak setrika. Kotoran
dan kerak air (kalau ada) akan dibilas keluar.
7 Lepaskan tombol Calc-Clean saat semua air dalam tangki sudah
digunakan.
8 Ulangiproses‘Calc-Clean’jikasetrikamasihkotor.
Setelah proses ‘Calc-Clean’
1 Pasang steker ke stopkontak dinding dan tunggu setrika memanas
agar tapaknya kering.
2 Cabut steker setrika setelah lampu suhu padam.
3 Gerakkan setrika panas perlahan-lahan di atas selembar kain bekas
untuk menghilangkan noda air yang mungkin terbentuk pada tapak
setrika.
4 Dinginkan dulu setrika sebelum Anda menyimpannya.
Penyimpanan
1 Setel kontrol uap ke posisi 0, lepaskan steker dari stopkontak dinding
dan biarkan setrika dingin.
2 Kosongkan tangki air.
3 Gulung kabel listrik pada tempat penyimpanan kabel.
4 Simpanlah setrika dengan posisi berdiri pada tumitnya di tempat yang
aman dan kering.
