After installing the universal remote control SRU 5130 you can operate a
maximum of 3 different devices with it:TV, Set Top Box (satellite or cable
decoder, digital terrestrial television), DVD player/HDD/recorder or VCR.

2.1 Inserting the batteries
Press the cover inwards and slide it in the direction of the arrow.
Place two AAA type batteries into the battery compartment, as
shown.
Replace the cover and click it firmly into place.

2.2 Testing the remote control
The remote control has been programmed to operate most Philips
devices. Because the SRU 5130 may use different signals for each brand
and even for different models of the same brand, it is advisable to test
whether your device responds to the SRU 5130.The example below (TV)
instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other
devices (Set Top Box, DVD player/recorder orVCR) which you want to
operate using the SRU 5130.
Example of TV:
Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control.Tune to
channel 1.
Press the TV key to select TV.
• The key lights up.
• If the key does not light up, check whether the batteries are
properly inserted (see ‘2.1 Inserting the batteries’).
Check whether all the keys are working.
For an overview of the keys and their functions see
‘3. Keys and functions’.
• If the TV responds as it should to all of the key commands the SRU 5130
is ready for use.
Tip
If the device does not respond at all or not to all of the key commands,
follow the instructions under ‘2.3 Setting the remote control’, or for online
setup go to: www.philips.com/urc.
2.3 Setting the remote control
This is only necessary if your device does not respond to the SRU 5130.
If that is the case, the SRU 5130 does not recognize the brand and/or
model of your device and you need to program the remote control to do
so.The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.
You can repeat the same steps for other devices (Set Top Box, DVD
player/ recorder orVCR) which you want to operate using the SRU 5130.

Example of TV:
Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control.Tune in
to channel 1.
Look up the brand of your TV in the code list at the back of this
manual.A four-figure code is shown for each brand.
Note the code for your brand.
Be careful! There are separate tables for TV, STB, DVD
and VCR.
Make sure you use the codes from the correct table.
Press the TV key until it flashes twice and then
remains lit.
Then enter the code noted in step 2 using the numeric keys.
• The TV key now flashes twice.
•If the key flashes once for an extended period, the code has not
been entered properly or the wrong code has been entered. Start
again from step 2.
Press and hold the Stand-by key of the SRU 5130 until your TV
switches off (stand-by).
Then release the key immediately.
• The SRU 5130 is now set to operate your TV.

Check if you can operate all functions on your TV with the SRU 5130.
• If a key does not function properly, keep it pressed until it works.
Then release the key immediately.
Repeat this for every key that does not work.
• If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the
SRU 5130 is ready for use. Do not forget to note your code.
Keep the TV key pressed for 5 seconds to exit setup mode.
• When no key is pressed for 2 minutes or more the remote control will
exit setup mode automatically.
When setting the remote control for other devices, be sure to enter
and exit setup mode with the appropriate mode key. STB for Set Top
Box, satellite or cable decoder and digital terrestrial television and
DVD for DVD player/ recorder andVCR.
Full search setup
If your code does not work or if the brand of your device is not
mentioned in the code list, you can try setting the remote control with
full search setup.
Press the mode key of the device you wish to set up the remote
control for. E.g. the TV key.
Press the key until it flashes twice and then remains lit.
Press and hold the Stand-by key of the SRU 5130 until your TV
switches off (stand-by).
Then release the key immediately.
• The SRU 5130 is now set to operate your TV.
Full search setup takes about 5 minutes.

The illustration on page 2 gives an overview of all keys and their
functions.
1yStand-by switches TV, STB or DVD on or off.
2/ DISC • Text TV on/off (TV).
• disc menu (DVD).
/ FAV(orites) • Electronic Program Guide (TV, STB).
• list of favorite channels (STB).
/ HDD • wide screen TV (TV).
• Hard Disk Drive menu (DVD-R).

4 Extra possibilities
4.1 Adjusting device selection (Mode keys)
The SRU 5130 is default set for operating TV, STB or DVD.You can select
the device you wish to operate with the TV, STB and DVD keys. Each
mode key allows operation of one device only. If desired, you can
program the keys to select a different kind of device. For example, if you
want to operate a second TV. In the following example you will see how
to configure the DVD key for a second TV.
Switch on the second TV.
Press the DVD key to select DVD.
• The key lights up.
Then keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU 5130 pressed simultaneously for
three seconds, until the DVD key
lights up.

Press keys 9, 9 and 2 in that order.
Press the TV key to select TV.
Press the key until it flashes twice and then remains lit.
• The DVD key flashes twice.
The DVD key will now allow you to operate your second TV.
Program the SRU 5130 to operate the second TV.

4.2 Restoring the original functions of your remote control
Keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU 5130 pressed simultaneously for three
seconds, until one of the
mode keys (TV, STB or DVD) flashes twice and then remains lit.
Press keys 9, 8 and 1, in that order.
• The mode key (TV, STB or DVD) flashes twice.
All original functions have now been restored and any extra functions
have been deleted.

5 Frequently asked questions
In this chapter you find answers to the most frequently asked questions
about your universal remote control.
How do I set the remote control for combo devices (TV/VCR,
TV/DVD, DVD/VCR, etc)?
Some combo devices require you to set up two different source selection
keys to control both parts of the combo device. For example, if you have
a TV/DVD combo, you might need to set up one code under the TV key
to control the TV and a separate code under the DVD key to control the
DVD.
The device I want to operate does not respond and the mode
key (TV, STB or DVD) does not flash when I press a key.
Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries.
The device I want to operate does not respond but the mode
key (TV, STB or DVD) does flash when a key is pressed.
Point the SRU 5130 at the device and make sure that there are no
obstructions between the SRU 5130 and the device.
The SRU 5130 does not respond properly to commands.
Try programming the SRU 5130 again.
If the device still does not respond, call our helpline.
The Text TV keys do not work.
• Find out whether your TV is equipped with Text TV.
• Maybe the SRU 5130 has to be adapted to the model of the device.

Dopo aver installato il telecomando universale SRU 5130 è possibile far
funzionare un massimo di 3 dispositivi diversi: televisore, decoder (via
satellite o via cavo, televisione digitale terrestre), lettore
DVD/HDD/recorder o VCR.

2.1 Inserimento delle batterie
Premere il coperchio verso l’interno e farlo scorrere nella direzione
indicata dalla freccia.
Inserire due batterie AAA nel vano batterie come mostrato.
Riposizionare il coperchio fino a che non scatta in posizione.

2.2 Test del telecomando
Il telecomando è stato programmato per funzionare con la maggior parte
dei dispositivi Philips. Poiché il modello SRU 5130 può utilizzare segnali
differenti per ciascuna marca o per vari modelli della stessa marca, è
consigliabile verificare se il dispositivo risponde all’SRU 5130.
L’esempio riportato di seguito (televisore) fornisce le informazioni
necessarie a riguardo. Potete ripetere i passaggi indicati per far funzionare
gli altri dispositivi (decoder, lettore DVD/DVD recorder oVCR) tramite il
modello SRU 5130.
Esempio relativo a un televisore:
Accendere il televisore manualmente o tramite il telecomando
originale.Andare sul canale 1.
Premere il tasto TV per selezionare il televisore.
• Il tasto si illumina.
• Se il tasto non si illumina, controllare che le batterie siano inserite
correttamente (vedere il capitolo ‘2.1 Inserimento delle batterie’).
Controllare che tutti i tasti funzionino.

• Se il televisore risponde correttamente a tutte le funzioni dei tasti, il
modello SRU 5130 è pronto per l’uso.

2.3 Impostazione del telecomando
Le seguenti istruzioni sono necessarie solo in caso di mancata
comunicazione tra il dispositivo e il modello SRU 5130. In questo caso il
telecomando SRU 5130 non riconosce la marca e/o il modello del
dispositivo ed è quindi necessario programmare il telecomando. L’esempio
riportato di seguito (televisore) fornisce le informazioni necessarie a
riguardo. È possibile ripetere i passaggi indicati per far funzionare gli altri
dispositivi (decoder, lettore DVD/DVD recorder oVCR) tramite il
modello SRU 5130.
Esempio relativo a un televisore:
Accendere il televisore manualmente o tramite il telecomando
originale.Andare sul canale 1.
Cercare la marca del proprio televisore nell’elenco dei codici sul
retro del manuale. Ciascuna marca è seguita da un codice a quattro
cifre.Annotare il codice della marca.
Attenzione! Esistono tabelle separate per televisori, decoder, DVD e
VCR.
Utilizzare i codici della tabella appropriata.
Premere il tasto TV finché non lampeggia due volte ed emette una
luce fissa.
Successivamente immettere il codice ottenuto nel passaggio 2
utilizzando i tasti numerici.
• Il tasto TV lampeggia due volte.
•Se il tasto lampeggia una volta sola per un lungo periodo, il codice
non è stato inserito correttamente o è errato. Ricominciare dal
passaggio 2.

Tenere premuto il tasto Stand-by dell’SRU 5130 finché il televisore
non si spegne (stand-by).
Rilasciare il tasto immediatamente.
• Il modello SRU 5130 può ora funzionare con il televisore.
Controllare che tutte le funzioni del televisore siano attivabili tramite
l’SRU 5130.
• Se un tasto non funziona correttamente, tenerlo premuto finché
non si attiva. Quindi rilasciare il tasto immediatamente.
Ripetere questi passaggi per tutti i tasti che non funzionano.
• Se il televisore risponde correttamente a tutte le funzioni dei tasti, il
modello SRU 5130 è pronto per l’uso. È importante ricordare di
annotare il codice.
Tenere premuto il tasto TV per 5 secondi per uscire dalla modalità di
impostazione.
• Se non viene premuto alcun tasto per 2 minuti o più, il telecomando
uscirà automaticamente dalla modalità di impostazione.
Quando viene impostato il telecomando per altri dispositivi,
assicurarsi di entrare e uscire dalla modalità di impostazione con il
tasto modalità appropriato. STB per i decoder via satellite o via cavo
e per la televisione digitale terrestre, e DVD per i lettori DVD/DVD
recorder e VCR.

Impostazione tramite ricerca completa
Se il codice non funziona o se la marca del dispositivo non è presente
nell’elenco dei codici, è possibile provare a impostare il telecomando
tramite la ricerca completa.
Premere il tasto modalità corrispondente al dispositivo che si
desidera far funzionare tramite il telecomando.Ad esempio il tasto TV.
Premere il tasto TV finché non lampeggia due volte ed emette una
luce fissa.
Tenere premuto il tasto Stand-by dell’SRU 5130 finché il televisore
non si spegne (stand-by).
Rilasciare il tasto immediatamente.
• Il modello SRU 5130 può ora funzionare con il televisore.
L’installazione tramite ricerca completa richiede circa 5 minuti.

Nota
Se il dispositivo non risponde, o non risponde a tutti i comandi, seguire le

4 Possibilità aggiuntive
4.1 Regolazione della scelta del dispositivo (tasti modalità)
Il modello SRU 5130, per impostazione predefinita, funziona con
televisori, decoder o lettori DVD. È possibile selezionare il dispositivo che
si desidera far funzionare tramite i tasti TV, STB e DVD. Ciascun tasto
consente di far funzionare un solo dispositivo. È anche possibile
programmare i tasti in modo da selezionare un altro tipo di dispositivo, ad
esempio un secondo televisore. Il seguente esempio illustra la
configurazione del tasto DVD per un secondo televisore.
Accendere il secondo televisore.
Premere il tasto DVD per selezionare l’opzione DVD.
•Il tasto si illumina.
Successivamente tenere premuti contemporaneamente i tasti 1 e 6
dell’SRU 5130 per tre secondi finché il tasto DVD non si illumina.
Premere il tasto 9, poi 9 e 2 in quest’ordine.

4.2 Ripristino delle funzioni originali del telecomando
Tenere premuti contemporaneamente i tasti 1 e 6 dell’SRU 5130 per
tre secondi finché uno dei tasti modalità (TV, STB o DVD) non
lampeggia due volte ed emette una luce fissa.
Premere il tasto 9, poi 8 e 1 in quest’ordine.
• Il tasto modalità (TV, STB o DVD) lampeggia due volte.
Tutte le funzioni originali vengono quindi ripristinate, mentre le funzioni
aggiuntive vengono cancellate.

In questo capitolo è possibile trovare le risposte alle domande più,
frequenti che riguardano il telecomando universale.
Come si imposta il telecomando per i dispositivi combinati
(TV/VCR,TV/DVD, DVD/VCR, ecc...).
Alcuni dispositivi combinati richiedono l’impostazione di due set diversi di
tasti sorgente per il controllo di entrambi i dispositivi combinati.
Se si dispone di un dispositivo combinato TV/DVD, ad esempio, potrebbe
essere necessario impostare un codice per il tasto TV per controllare il
televisore e un codice separato per il tasto DVD per controllare il lettore
DVD.
Il dispositivo che voglio far funzionare tramite il telecomando
non risponde e il tasto modalità (TV, STB o DVD) non si
illumina quando premo un tasto.
Sostituire le vecchie batterie con due nuove batterie AAA.
Il dispositivo che voglio far funzionare tramite il telecomando
non risponde, ma il tasto modalità (TV, STB o DVD) si illumina
quando premo un tasto.
Puntare il telecomando SRU 5130 verso il dispositivo e assicurarsi che
non vi siano ostacoli tra quest’ultimo e il telecomando.
L’SRU 5130 non risponde correttamente ai comandi.
Provare a programmare nuovamente l’SRU 5130. Se il dispositivo non
risponde, chiamare la linea dedicata all’assistenza.
Il tasto televideo non funziona.
• Verificare se il proprio televisore è dotato della funzione televideo.
• Potrebbe essere necessario adattare il telecomando SRU 5130 al
modello del dispositivo. Chiamare la linea dedicata all’assistenza per
ulteriori informazioni.
