PIKO SmartControl®
Kurzanleitung / Quick Manual
Schließen Sie das Gleis an Ihre PIKO SmartBox®an.
Connect the track with the PIKO SmartBox®.
Beim ersten Start müssen Sie Ihre Zentrale auswählen.
Bitte berühren Sie anschließend das Stopp-Feld (STOP II).
Die LED muss von rot auf grün wechseln.
During first start-up you need to choose a command
station. Please touch STOP II.
The LED must switch from red to green.

Schalten Sie den PIKO SmartController®ein. Halten Sie
den Knopf so lange gedrückt, bis das Android-Symbol
erscheint. Warten Sie, bis das Gerät den Android-Home-
screen anzeigt (Hintergrundbild).
Activate the PIKO SmartController®. Push the button till
you can see the Android logo. Wait until the device is
showing the Android-Homescreen (background).
Stecken Sie den Netzstecker ein.
Plug in the power supply.
Sie werden aufgefordert, eine Lok auszuwählen. Haben Sie eine Lok mit RailComPlus®-fähigem Decoder, wie er in den
Premium Start-Set Loks enthalten ist, stellen Sie diese einfach aufs Gleis und bestätigen die Meldung mit „Öffnen“. 

®
-function, like the locos of the PIKO
Premium starter sets, just put this loco on the track, wait for the pop-up and confirm with “open”. 
Starten Sie die PIKO SmartControl®App, indem Sie auf
das Symbol drücken.
Start the PIKO SmartControl®app by pressing the
symbol.
Nun sind Sie in Ihrem PIKO SmartControl®Führerstand.
Fahren und steuern Sie gleich los, indem Sie Funktionen
einfach antippen oder die Geschwindigkeit am Drehregler
ändern.
Now simply start driving and controlling by pressing any
functions or by changing the speed with the silver knob.

HINWEISE
Bedeutung der Tasten und LED’s an der PIKO SmartBox®
Die wichtigsten Funktionen der PIKO SmartBox®im kompakten Überblick:
1. WPS-Druckknopf (links) – Drücken Sie diesen Knopf, während die PIKO SmartBox®eingeschaltet ist. Betätigen
Sie zeitnah den WPS-Knopf des zu verbindenden Gerätes, um eine Verbindung automatisch herstellen zu lassen.
2. Reset / BackUp (mittig) – Halten Sie diese Taste gedrückt und schalten Sie dann die PIKO SmartBox®ein.
Wenn Sie die Taste für ca. 10 Sekunden gedrückt halten, wird ein Reset auf Werkseinstellungen ausgeführt. Sie
können loslassen, sobald die zweite grüne LED wieder zu leuchten beginnt.
3. Rescue / Update (rechts) – Um ein Firmwareupdate Ihrer PIKO SmartBox®durchzuführen, müssen Sie einen
entsprechend vorbereiteten USB-Stick einstecken, diesen Knopf gedrückt halten und dann die PIKO SmartBox®
einschalten. Sobald die LED zu blinken beginnt, wird das Update ausgeführt. Die PIKO SmartBox startet danach
neu.

Bedeutung der Status-LED am PIKO SmartController®
Die Status-LED des PIKO SmartControllers®zeigt Ihnen den aktuellen Status des Systems an.
Leuchtet die LED nicht, so ist keine Verbindung zwischen PIKO SmartBox®und PIKO SmartController®hergestellt,
bspw. weil die PIKO SmartBox®noch nicht eingeschaltet wurde.
Grün bedeutet, dass die Anlage mit Strom versorgt wird.
Rot bedeutet einen Kurzschluss oder einen von der PIKO SmartBox®erkannten Fehler.
Bitte achten Sie bei Spielbeginn darauf, dass die Status-LED grün leuchtet.Tut sie dies nicht, betätigen Sie bitte kurz
die „STOP / II“ –Taste.

Woher weiß ich, welche Firmware- / Softwareversion auf meinen Geräten
installiert ist?
Den aktuellen Stand der installierten Software finden Sie ganz bequem in der „SmartControl®App“ auf Ihrem PIKO
SmartController®. Begeben Sie sich dazu ins Menü „Einstellungen“ innerhalb dieser App.
Unter „Zentrale“ finden Sie die Firmwareversion der PIKO SmartBox®, bspw. „4.1.1.RC4“.
Informationen über die Version der „SmartControl®App“ finden Sie auch unter diesem Einstellungsmenü, jedoch
unter dem Reiter „Über PIKO SmartControl®“.
Wie genau Sie zu diesem Menü gelangen erfahren Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung unter Punkt 4.1.1
Wo kann ich die Updates für meine Geräte finden?
Für den PIKO SmartController®gibt es zwei Möglichkeiten die Updates zu installieren:
- entweder Sie verbinden Ihren PIKO SmartController®direkt mit dem Internet, dann werden die Updates
automatisch mit Hilfe des Google PlayStore ausgeführt
- oder Sie laden sich das Programm „SmartControl®Update“ herunter. Sie finden dieses unter
www.piko-shop.de/?a=sc
Für die PIKO SmartBox®muss ein USB-Stick entsprechend vorbereitet werden, auf dem eine Datei abgelegt wird.
Diese Datei finden Sie ebenfalls unter dem angegebenen Link.

Function of the buttons and LED’s of the PIKO SmartBox®
The most important functions in compact overview:
1. WPS-button (left) – press this button while the PIKO SmartBox®is activated. Closely after that press the WPS-
button of the device you wish to connect automatically.
2. Reset / BackUp (centered) – Keep this button pressed and plug in the power supply to the PIKO SmartBox®. If
you keep this button pressed for ca. 10 seconds it will do a factory reset. You can release this button again as
soon as the second green LED starts lighting again.
3. Rescue / Update (right) – Insert a prepared USB-Stick to the PIKO SmartBox®, press this button and plug in the
power supply to the PIKO SmartBox®. As soon as the LED starts blinking the update will be done automatically.
The PIKO SmartBox®will restart once this is finished.

Meaning of the status-LED off the PIKO SmartController®
The status-LED of your PIKO SmartController®shows you the current status of your system. If the LED doesn’t light
then there is no connection between the PIKO SmartBox®and the PIKO SmartControl®-App, for example because the
PIKO SmartBox®is not activated.
Green means everything is OK and the track gets supplied with power and signals.
Red means there was a short or the PIKO SmartBox®identified a problem.
Please make sure that the LED is green when you want to start playing. If it doesn’t just press the “STOP /II”-symbol
again to change the state to green.

How do I know which firmware- / software version is installed on my devices?
The information about the current version of software can easily be found in the app “PIKO SmartControl®” on your
PIKO SmartController®. Just enter the “settings”-menu within the app.
Under “command station” you can see the firmware-version of the PIKO SmartBox®, for example “4.1.1.RC4”.
Informations about the app-version can be found in the same menu under “About PIKO SmartControl®”.
How to find this menu is described under point 4.1.1 in the instruction.
Where can I find the updates for my devices?
For the PIKO SmartControl®there are two possibilities for updating:
- whether you connect your PIKO SmartControl®directly to the internet, then the updates should be installed
automatically via the Google PlayStore
- or you download the program “SmartControl®Update”.You can find it at www.piko-shop.de/?a=sc
For updating the PIKO SmartBox®you have to prepare a USB-stick with a file on it.
This file can be found under the same link as before.
