e This guide explains the usage of and necessary settings for this unit. Please
follow the procedure to complete the settings. Do not lose this guide.
e Refer to the USER'S MANUAL found on the supplied CD-ROM or on the
Web for details of other settings and uses not explained in this guide.

to "The USER'S MANUAL" on the reverse for more details.
e Some Pioneer products that connect to this product will need to be
configured. Refer to their respective USER'S MANUAL for more details.

for Support Centre details.

Setup Procedure
STEP3
Check the Base
* Check that the base has no problem connecting to
the Internet.
Connect the Unit
e If the base has a WPS button
~Follow the instructions in "Step 2 Connect the Unit
(WPS)" to connect the unit to the base.
e If the base does not have a WPS button
~Follow the instructions in "Step 2 Connect the Unit
(Manual)"
to connect the unit to the base.
* If you have problems using the "WPS Button."
use the "Manual" procedure.
Step 3 Connect AV Devices
Preparation
Prepare the following.
D Wireless LAN Converter (this unit)
D LAN/USB feeder cable (included) *This cable is a combination of a
LAN cable and a USB feeder cable
that supplies power to the unit
without using an AC adapter.
Use the supplied cable only.

Before Configuring the Unit
e If you do not have an Internet connection, subscribe before
configuring the unit.
e Do not connect the LAN/USB feeder cable to a USB hub.
STEP1
Check the Base

Check that the Wireless LAN router (base) has no
problem connecting to the Internet.

This procedure requires a separate Wireless LAN router (base).
If you do not have a base. please prepare one.
Check that the base has a WPS function. Refer to the
Wireless LAN router user's manual for details.
WPS is a function that configures the base connection and security
using a button.

Some bases have WPS written on them.

Continue to "Step 2 (WPS)" and "Step 3" .

STEP2 Connect the Unit (WPS)
0 e This procedure explains how to connect the unit using the
WPS
function. If the base does not have a WPS function. refer to the
"Manual" procedure below.
e Do not connect the LAN cable to the unit until instructed.
e When using multiple units of this product. the IP address of this unit
needs to be changed. Refer to "Troubleshooting" on the reverse.
1. Switch an the unit

* If the WPS indicator stops flashing and is steadily lit.

unit is connected to the Wireless LAN.
(The unit is not connected if the WPS indicator is
flashing.)
* If the WPS indicator does not flash. press the "WPS"
button again.
*If the WPS indicator stops flashing and turns off.

Disconnect the USB feeder cable end of the supplied cable that
is connected to the unit.

STEP2
Connect the Unit (Manual)

Use this procedure to manually connect the unit. especially if connecting
the unit using the "WPS" procedure. above. does not work.
e If the computer on which you will configure the unit is connected to the
Wireless LAN cable disconnect it.
e When using multiple units of this product. the IP address of this unit
needs to be changed. Refer to "Troubleshooting" on the reverse.
1. Search far a Network Connection
Before connecting or configuring this unit, you must know the Wireless LAN
settings for your base. Write the settings in the table below.
• Refer to the base user's manual for details on the Wireless LAN settings.

2. Connect to the Computer
o Switch ott the computer. ~
Connect the ETHERNET port on the unit to the computer LAN port
on the computer using the LAN end of the supplied feeder cable.

* The location of the LAN port and its name may vary
depending on the computer. If you cannot locate a
LAN
port. refer to the computer user's manual for help.
The LAN port is the large port that is slightly
larger than a telephone modular jack.
•
Some bases have LAN written on them.
Connect the POWER connector on the unit to the USB port on
the computer
using the USB end of the supplied feeder cable.
* The location of the USB port and its name may
vary depending on the device. If
you cannot
locate a USB port. refer to the device's user's

Switch on the computer.

3. Configure the Unit
o Launch the Web browser.

(?) When (5) in the table is a 1 0-digit or 5-digit encryption key
~select "64 bit (1 0 hex digits/5 ascii keys)" in "WEP Key Length" .
When
(5) in the table is a 26-digit or 13-digit encryption key
~Select "128 bit (26 hex digits/13 ascii keys)" in "WEP Key Length".
® When (3) in the table is "Hexadecimal"
~select "Hexadecimal" in "WEP Key Entry Method" .
When
(3) in the table is "ASCII"
~Select "ASCII Text" in "WEP Key Entry Method" .
® Enter the encryption key in (5) in the table in the field that
corresponds to the
WEP key checked in (4) in the table.
*For example, If (4) in the table is "Key 1" , enter the same
encryption key in
(5) in the table in the "WEP Key 1" field.
®Select
the same default key as in (4) in the table.
®Click [Apply).

Connect AV Devices
Once configuratiOn IS complete. connect the un1t to the AV dev1ce
o Switch off the AV device.

Troubleshooting
Th is section conta i ns he l pfu l ti ps and so lutio ns to problems you may have when
confi gunng the unit.
Read th e un it ·usER'S MANUAL- for explanati ons on the advanced setti ngs. Refer to "T he
USER 'S MANUAL" . below. for deta i ls on how to view i t.
The unit will not turn on .
e Check that the USB feeder cable is properly connected to the unit and the
AV device.
The
unit will not connect to the Internet .
e Refer to "Step 3 Connect AV Devices" and check tha t the device and t he
cabl es are properly connected.
e Switch the unit off and on.
e If the unit and the base (Wireless LAN router) are too far apart or have an
obstacle between them. move the base closer to where there are no
obstruct ions and try agai n.
e The electromagnetic waves from microwave ovens may interfere with
Wireless Transmission. Connect away from microwave ovens.
e Check the AV device IP address settings (automatic and fixed settings).
If it is a fixed setting. you will need to set the
IP address to match t he
Wireless LAN router network settings.
For example. if Wireless LAN router
IP address is "192.168.1.1" . set the AV
device IP address to "192.168.1.XXX*" . t
he Subnet Mask to "255.255.255.0"
and the Gateway or
DNS to "192.168.1.1"
*Se t the "XXX" in "1 92.168.1.XXX" to a val ue between 2 and 248 that will
not conflict with other devices.
e If the above settings do not work . reset the unit. Refer to "Reset the Unit"
for instructions.
When
using multiple units of this product or the IP address of another device
is "192.
168 .XXX. 249 " *.
'' The "XXX" in "1 92.168.XXX .2 49" may vary depending on the environment.
e T he unit cannot connect with the base if t he unit IP address overlaps.
Change the IP address using t
he following procedure.
1) Reset the unit. Refer to "Reset the Unit" for instructions.
2) Refer
to "Step 2 Connect the Unit (Manual)" -"2. Connect to the
Compute( on the front for details on how to connect the unit to a
computer.
3) Refer to "Step 2 Connect the Unit (Manua l)" -"3. Configure the Unit"
on the
front and follow 0 through 1iJ to configure the uni t.
4) C li ck "Net work" in t he top menu.
5) Click "LAN Interface Setup" in the left menu.
6) Set the IP address to "192.168.1.XXX" *i n the "Local Area Network
(LAN) Settings" window.
*Se t the "XXX" in "192.168.1.XXX" to a val ue between 2 and 248 that
wi ll not conflict with other devices.
7) Cl ick [Apply].
8) Foll ow the procedu re in either "Step 2 Connect the Unit CWPS )" or "Step
2 Connect the Unit
(Manua l)" on the front to reconfigure the uni t.
An error occurs when entering "cv . setup " or "192 . 168 . 1.249" in the Address
bar of the browser .
e Reset the uni t. Refer to "Reset the Unit" for instructions.
Reset the Unit
0 Resetting the
unit will -erase all existing settings. Be sure to note alll
important information before resetting it . __ _j
1. Check tha t the unit is switched on.
2. Press the
RES ET button on the unit for ov er 3 second s.
3. Re lease the RESET button w he n the POWER indicator turns off then flashes.
4. Wait. Reset is complete when the unit restarts.
Once the unit is reset. follow t he procedure in ei t her "Step 2 Connect t he Un it (WPS)"
or "Step 2 Connect the Unit (Manual)" on the front to configure the unit.
