Professional Plasma Display
The Pioneer 61-inch professional plasma display
Incorporating the latest plasma display technology with highly functional and easy to use features,
professionals will appreciate the PDP-61MXE1Õs e ceptional image quality, brightness and contrast.
Flexible connectivity
The PDP-61MXE1 also provides a large number of connection options to extend
installation flexibility Full details can be found in the specification section
Connections include PC1 (D-sub15), Component (RCA x 3), PC2/Component2
(BNC x 5), PC3 (DVI-D with HDCP) Video1 (BNC x 1), Video2 (RCA x 1) and
Video3 (S-Video Terminal x 1) The PC1 and Video 1 terminals are also available
as outputs To further increase flexibility, audio inputs can also be switched to
each video input, matching audio from a separate source
Control functions
The display is controlled through a Graphical User Interface and can be fully
managed via a remote handset The remote can be connected by wire to the
display to control functions from outside of the room where the plasma is installed
Full RS-232C control is provided for remote management
Power consumption and durability
PioneerÕs Encased Cells create an extremely efficient plasma display that does
not have to work as hard as alternative products to achieve similar brightness
levels This performance helps the PDP-61MXE1 achieve low power consumption
Life cycle management is improved with the introduction of a range of screen
management features A programmable Ôorbiter functionÕ subtly moves the position
of stationary images This helps to prevent the PDP from being overworked in
one particular area of the screen to significantly extend the working life of the
display An inverse mode and soft focus mode is provided to manage any effects
produced by displaying static images
Encased Cell Structure
The PDP-61MXE1 provides PioneerÕs Encased Cell structure, which gives lower
power consumption, pin sharp image quality and prevents light leakage between
cells This is one of the primary factors behind the superior performance of the
display The cells feature a larger phosphorous surface area that increases luminous
efficiency, making the screen brighter and enhancing subtle details
High-Precision Capsulated Colour Filter (CCF
The PDP-61MXE1Õs precisely engineered CCF decreases light reflection for
better viewing and filters out unnecessary elements in red, green and blue
light for purer colour reproduction Skin tones appear more natural, and
all images, even fast-moving ones, are crisp and vivid
Black Stripe
Inhibits the reflection of external light and enhances contrast to ensure
that dark colours appear crisp and clear, even in bright settings
Full Digital Processing:
From input to output, the video signal remains in the digital domain, ensuring
noise-free, no-loss signal quality for the highest possible resolution of all types
of input (video to PC)
Gamma Selection:
Four gamma modes can be selected, allowing for a more precise display of tone
gradations, even for images with low lighting

Energy Saving and Screen Management
ABL (Auto Brightness Limiter) Lock provides three selectable modes to reduce
power consumption when desired Several Screen Management modes include:
Orbiter Ð a programmable orbiter function which subtly moves the position of
stationary images Inverse Ð which quickly displays the image as negative White
Mask Ð which simply creates a mask in the image area
Point Zoom
Expands any portion of an image from one to nine times in 64 steps
Colour Detail Adjustment
Colour adjustment can be performed for any primary or secondary colour
without affecting the others For example, you can change the colour of a logo
to appear correct without changing surrounding colours in the image
Programmable Timer
The timer function features a convenient Weekly Timer with the following
programmable functions: power on/off, input selection, activation of image burn-
in management modes
Video Wall Capabilities
The PDP-61MXE1 provides a video wall function for up to 5 x 5 displays with
both PC and Video signals supported
Two modes are available: Normal and Adjusted In Normal Mode Ð static
information can be displayed without losing text within the bezel areas Adjusted
mode takes into account the width of the PDPÕs bezels that surround the individual
displays, so that the image is completely distortion-free
New Scan Converter:
Converts input signals with high sampling accuracy so details such as small letters
appear sharp and clear
I/P Conversion and Scaling Large Scale Integrated
(LSI Components:
These LSIs smooth jagged edges, correct colour bleeds and select the ideal input
resolution by simultaneously sensing both Y and C signals, resulting in images that
are smooth and clean
