Before the receiverleaves
the manufacturing
plant, this
switch is set to the channel
allotment
olan of the destina-
tion. For the U.S.A., it is set to 1OkHz.Check that the
switch
is
set
properly
beforeuse.
Set it to the 9kHz position when the channelallotment
plan is changed and the intervals between the AM broad-
castingstationschangefrom 1OkHz
to 9kHz units.
NOTE:

LOADING
THEBATTERIES
Two size
"AA" dry batteriesareprovided
as
accessories.
They are usedto retainthe stationpresetting
memory
functions.
Beforeusingthe
unit,disconnectthe
power
cordandload
the batteries
into the compartment
on the rear
panel
as
follows:
1.Slidethe
lid inthedirection
of thearrow
andopenthe
compartment
(see
Fig.
1).
Load the batteries
with the polarities
properly aligned
with the marks on the inside
of the compartment (see
Fis.2).
Align the tab of the lid with the interlockinghole and
depressthe lid lightly.
BatteryPrecautions:
lf batteries
areincorrectly
used.theymayleakor even
break open inside
the battery holder. Observe
the following
precautions
when inserting
and
replacing
the batteries.
1. Always be surethe + and - endsarealigned
properly
as
shownabove
and
as
marked
on the batteryholder.
2. Do not use
new batteries and partly used batteriesat
the same time.
3. Do not usedifferent brandsand types of batteries
at the
same
time.
