BEFORE
USE
. Please
read this operating guide through before using
your speaker
systemso you will know how to make
the
most of its performance. After you have finished
reading
the operating
guide.store the leaflet in a safe
place.
You will then know where it is.should
you wish
to refer to it if something
isunclearwhile the speaker
systemisbeingused.
o The nominal impedance of this speaker system is
6.3 ohms. Connect the speakersto a stereoamplifier
with a load impedancerangingfrom 4 to 16 ohms (a
model with "4 - 16A" displayed
on the speakeroutput
terminals).
r The maximum input power of these speakersis 250
wattr. Tire speakersmay'bscfatfaged or ynalrge sounds
may be heardthrough them if signalswith a strength
exceeding
the maximum input power
areapplied.
r Rememberto handlethe speakersystemcarefully
since
it is
quite heavy.
INSTALLATION
o The normal listening position is at the apex of an
imaginary equilateral
trianglewith the speakersystem
forming the baseline. Alternatively, you can sit and
listen
lust beyond
the apex.

quality may change
depending
on the objects
surrounding the speaker

will sound
different when the speaker

placedup againsta wall and when there is a crearance

sound is like in a number of positions
and choosethe
location
which offers
a sound
quality to your liking.

2. Connect input terminal (+) of the speakersystemto

the input terminal knob, insert
the tip of
the cord into the hole
andthen release
the knob so
that it springsbackinto position.
NOTES:
o Make sure that the speaker cords are connected
to the terminals securely. lnsecure connections may
causenot only sound to be interrupted and noise to be
generated but also the cords to be shorted and the
amplifier to break down-
o When listening to a stereo performance with the
speaker system connected to a stereo amplifier,
you will find that the bassis insufficient. the sound is
not spread out and there is no stereo effect if the
cords of one of the speaker system have been plugged
into the wrong polarity terminals.

DETACHING
AND REPLAC.

THE
FRONT
GRILLE
The front grille
of this
speakersystemisremovable.
Proceed
asfollows:
1. Use both hands to hold the bottom part of the
grille, and pull it gently towards you. You will
then beable
to free
the bottom partof thegrille.
2. Similarly, take hold of the top part of the grille,
and pull it towards you; the whole grille will then
be detachedfrom the speaker
system.
3. To replace the grille, align the projections in eacn
of the grille's
cornerswith the openingsin the speaker,
and
push
each
of the corners
into place.
USING
THELEVEL
CONTROLS
This speaker
system
isequippedwith mid-rangeand treble
level
controlswhich you canadjustto produce
the desired
sound in accordancewith the position of the speaker
systemor the acousticsof your listeningroom.
The level
controlscan be found at the front of the speaker
cabinet.
1. Detach
the
grille.
2. Set the tone controls on the stereoamplifierto theflat
response
position (FLAT or 0 position).
3. Play a i'eccrdor a tape whose sound you arefamiliar
with and, at the same time, rotate the level control
knobs to adjust the sound quality to your preference.
The HIGH RANGE control is for adjustingthe treble
and the MID RANGE control is for adjusting the
mid-range.
With the "0" position as
the referencelevel,
rotating the knobs to the right (C)) increases
the level
and, conversely,rotatingthen to the left (O) attenuares
the level. lf the knobs are turned to their leftmost
positions,
no sound
at allwill be heard
from the tweeter
and mid-range
speakers.
CABINETMAINTENANCE
r Usea polishing
cloth or dry cloth to wipe off dust
and
dirt.
o When the cabinet is very dirty, wipe with a soft cloth
dipped in some
neutral
cleanserdilutedfive or six
times
with water, and then wipe again
with a dry cloth.
o Neverusethinners,benzine,insecticide
spraysandother
chemicals on or near the cabinets,since these will
corrode the surfaces.
