woodbourne setup options
The Woodbourne includes both AirPlay and
Bluetooth wireless technologies that allow you
to stream music from any compatible device.
Bluetooth setup
connecting devices
To pair and connect your music
player with the Woodbourne:
1. Make sure your music player
apt~®
and Woodbourne are both powered on.
2. Make sure your music player has Bluetooth
turned on. See your manual for instructions.
3. Press the Bluetooth source button (*)from
the Woodbourne remote or press the
source (
0) button on the Woodbourne
until the Bluetooth source is selected
(the Bluetooth symbol will pulse).
4. Your Woodbourne will become listed on your
music player and will be available to pair &
connect. Select "polk woodbourne" on your
player to initiate the connection process.
note: Some Android devices require a separate
step after pairing has been completed.

5. After a short delay (5 seconds), the two
devices should now be connected. The
Bluetooth source symbol will be a solid blue;
indicating a connection has been made.
6. Play your music from your device!
disconnecting devices
If your Woodbourne is in Bluetooth source and you
press and hold the source button (0 ) for 3 seconds,
then any Bluetooth device that's connected will be
disconnected automatically. The Bluetooth
LED
should flash 4 times within one second to indicate the
Bluetooth device was disconnected. The Woodbourne
will then become available for pairing and connecting.
AirPlay. Getting Started.
AirPlay technology allows you to stream music
from your PC (iTunes 10.2 or later) or iOS device
(iOS 4.3 or later) to your Woodbourne speaker
using your home or office network.
To take
advantage of this feature you need to first get
your Woodbourne speaker connected to your
network. This can be done by directly connecting
your Woodbourne to your router with
an Ethernet
cable or by utilizing the built-in wireless module
in the Woodbourne (see instructions on p5).
Once your Woodbourne speaker
is connected
to the network you will see the AirPlay icon

near your music player controls: AirPlay

When you click or tap on this icon you will see a list of
all available AirPlay speakers that you can use. Click
or tap on the one you want and your music will be
sent
to that speaker. If you would like, you can change
the name of your Woodbourne as it appears
in the list
(see instructions on p5).
AirPlay setup
With AirPlay you have several options from which
to choose for setting up your Woodbourne:

AirPlay setup using Wi-Fi login sharing
1. Connect your iOS device to the Woodbournels
USB input using the standard sync cable that
came with your device.

2. Make sure that your device is already
connected to the same wireless network
that you want your speaker
to connect to.
3. With your speaker powered on, and in USB
source, press and hold the source button (0 )
for approximately 3 seconds.

4. When you receive a pop-up alert on your
iOS device, you can release the button.
5. Tap on the ALLOW button on the iOS
device to share the Wi-Fi credentials
with the Woodbourne speaker.
6. The speaker will now connect to the
wireless network. The Wi-Fi logo ('9') on
the Woodbourne should flash and then turn
solid for
two seconds before fading away.

AirPlay setup using the Polk mobile app
The Polk Woodbourne mobile app is easy to use.
It will walk you through each simple step needed
to name, connect and update your Woodbourne.

USB input using the standard sync cable that
came with your device. Then launch the app
and follow the instructions.

AirPlay setup using web pages
If you only intend to use AirPlay from a Mac
or
PC,
follow the instructions found at:

The setup pages will enable you
to
name your
Woodbourne, connect your Woodbourne and
update Woodbourne firmware when updates
become available. Before you begin, collect your
router's information (network name and password).
updating woodbourne firmware
From time to time, we may release a firmware update
for your Woodbourne. These updates fix minor bugs
or add new features.
We
recommend you download
a firmware update when we offer them.
You
can
check www.polkaudio.com/products/woodbourne
for firmware updates.
Better yet, if you use the Polk Woodbourne mobile
app, you'll be notified automatically of any firmware
updates when they become available.

cleaning and care
Your Woodbourne top cap
is
finished
in
real
natural wood veneer. Clean the top periodically
with a soft cloth and furniture polish to remove
dust and fingerprints.
note:
Do
not use any petroleum based cleaners
or solvents
on
the Woodbourne.

troubleshooting
1. How do I hook up the Woodbourne to my
home network?
You can hook up to your home network by
using Wi-Fi login sharing, the Polk Woodbourne
mobile app or through web pages.
Refer to the instructions that begin
on page 5
of this manual.
2. Not sure what network I'm on.
The Woodbourne's AirPlay
LED will be solid blue,
indicating the speaker
is connected to a Wi-Fi
network. Unfortunately, you won't be able to tell
which network you're connected to if there are
other wireless networks
in your immediate vicinity.
If you hear the music you want to play, you're
connected to your network.
3. Audio sometimes drops out when in AirPlay.
If that should happen, here's a list of
possible remedies:
• Make sure the distances between your
Woodbourne, your network router and the
device you're streaming music from are
all within
recommended broadcast distances.

• Keep other electronic devices and appliances
a reasonable distance from the Woodbourne and
your router to reduce the chance
of interference.
• Other Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN)
in
your immediate vicinity could interfere as well.
• Make sure that other devices are not trying to
stream to the same Woodbourne.
• Make sure that your Wi-Fi router
is configured
with the recommended settings for the
best performance.
•
Try another channel for your router.
• Refer to your routerls owners manual for
solutions to interference and other issues.
4. It takes a few seconds before I hear music
streamed
by AirPlay.
Here are some things to check that
could speed things up.
• Place your network router closer to
the Woodbourne.
• Look for any wireless network interference
• Use
an Ethernet cable to connect your
Woodbourne directly to your network.

5.
Woodbourne isn•t connecting
to
my
Wi-Fi network.
Your Woodbourne may not connect to your
Wi-Fi network for any number of reasons.
• Make sure your Woodbourne
is
powered on.
• Restart your Woodbourne.
• Restart your network router.
• Maybe your router has a new firmware
update available.
6.
DTS decoding isn•t working.
Only Dolby Digital decoding
is
supported through
the optical connection.
DTS
is
not supported. The
green
LED
indicates that a Dolby Digital signal
is
present and streaming over the optical input.
7.
The Woodbourne does
not
power
on.
Ensure you have plugged the power cord
into a live wall outlet.
