SCL-1075
THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING POLSEN.
The Polsen SCL-1075 makes it easier than ever for you to capture
clear, natural audio on your DSLR or camcorder. This cardioid
condenser shotgun microphone attaches to your camera’s shoe
mount or to a boom pole and plugs into the camera’s audio input
jack. A switch allows you to change between normal (cardioid) and
tele (supercardioid) modes, easily altering the microphone’s polar
pattern to capture sound for different environments. Optimized
to reject ambient noise and focus on the subject in front of the
microphone, the SCL-1075 is perfect for run-and-gun productions
like recording interviews and events indoors and in the eld.

MOUNTING THE SCL-1075 ON A BOOM POLE

bolt on the clip.
5. Insert the microphone’s 3.5 mm audio connection into the female end of a 3.5 mm stereo
extension cable (sold separately).
6. Insert the extension cable’s 3.5 mm male audio connection into the audio input jack of
your audio recorder.

NORMAL AND TELE MODES
The SCL-1075 features two modes, normal and tele. Normal mode is a cardioid polar pattern
optimized to focus on the subject while rejecting off-axis sound. This mode is ideal when
recording subjects that are in close proximity to the microphone.
Tele mode is a supercardioid polar pattern that is more focused than the cardioid pattern, and
is better at isolating the subject and rejecting off-axis sound and ambient noise. This mode is
ideal when recording subjects that are far away from the microphone.
ATTACHING THE WINDSCREEN
The SCL-1075 comes with a foam windscreen that helps reduce wind noise. To t the
windscreen onto the microphone, rotate the windscreen while gently pushing it onto the
microphone barrel. Make sure that the windscreen covers all the ports on the sides of the
microphone barrel.
