PondMAX® Pond De-Icer is an "Anti-ice" pond heater
ideal for maintaining an unfrozen area around the unit
(Fig. 4, Page 3). It is for outdoor use only, and the
manufacturer declines any responsibility for all other
uses. If it used for any other purpose, it is not covered
by the manufacturer's liability.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Please read the operating instructions and familiarize yourself with the equipment before use. Correct and safe
use of the equipment requires strict compliance with the safety instructions. Persons less than 16 years of age or
people that are not familiar with these instructions should not use this equipment.
CAUTION: Persons with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge
can use the appliance if they have been given proper
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe
way to understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the appliance because this is not
a toy. Children shall not play with the appliance because

be done by children without supervision.
WARNING: Turn off and disconnect all the electrical
equipment in the pond before conducting any
maintenance tasks.
WARNING: This de-icer is provided with a thermal protector
that switches off in case of overheating or malfunctioning
(out of water) to protect the appliance. To restart the de-icer,
disconnect the plug from the power supply and wait for at
least 30 minutes, then reconnect the plug to the socket,
making sure the de-icer is placed correctly.
The power cord must not be repaired or replaced. If it is
damaged, replace the entire product.
THE DE-ICER MUST ALWAYS BE USED WITH THE FLOAT
PROVIDED, IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT THE DE-ICER IS
IMMERSED TO THE CORRECT LEVEL.
WARNING: Always switch off and disconnect the appliance
at least 30 minutes before any maintenance or control and
before pulling it out of the water.

WARNING: The de-icer must be connected through a GFCI
(ground fault circuit interrupter), with a rated residual
operating under 30mA.
Check the voltage of the appliance and ensure it corresponds
to the electrical outlet.
When the de-icer is plugged into the electrical outlet,
ensure that the lowest part of the cable is lower than the
socket, to prevent any drops of water that are on the
cable from flowing into the socket (Fig. 2, Page 3).
Do not place the power supply cable underground, and follow
local electrical regulations, and consult a qualified installer
and electrician if necessary.
When installing the appliance, do not use the power supply
cable to lift it.
Do not use corrosive or abrasive liquids when operating this
appliance.

Before installing the PondMAX® Pond De-Icer in the pond it is necessary to complete assembling it by fitting the float to the de-icer.
To do this operation it is necessary to twist clockwise the upper part of the de-icer into the float as shown in Fig. 3. A final click at the end
of the twisting will indicate that the coupling has been completed and that the PondMAX® Pond De-Icer is ready to be placed in the pond.
We suggest that the PondMAX® Pond De-Icer is positioned in the deepest, most shaded area of the pond, for maximum benefit. It is
better to try and utilize your de-icer before the pond freezes over, so during winter you should try and anticipate freezing conditions.
If ice has already formed on the surface of the pond, gently pour boiling water onto a concentrated area of ice in order to melt the ice to a
sufficient depth to take the de-icer. Under no circumstances should the ice be broken by smashing, as this may cause the fish great stress,
and can injure or even kill them. PondMAX® Pond De-Icer is ideal for ponds up to 100 sq.ft. (9 sq.m.). For ponds with a greater surface area
we recommend that two de-icers should be used, spaced well apart. Remove PondMAX® Pond De-Icer when not in use, dry and store in
original packaging in a cool, dry place out of sunlight. Inspect your PondMAX® Pond De-Icer each time before use.

• The malfunction is proved attributable to a defect in materials or workmanship, including repairs performed under this warranty.
Malfunction for any other reason-including but not limited to misuse, negligence, accident, or tampering with parts, incorrect wiring, or
improper installation-will not be remedied under this warranty.
• PondMAX specifically does not guarantee chemical compatibility, and expressly does not warrant units from any problems caused by
chemical attack or failure due to incompatibility of fluid being exposed to the heater.
• All warranty repairs must be performed by PondMAX or a PondMAX authorized company.
• Purchaser must retain the purchase receipt and present it with this certificate as proof of ownership and entitlement to warranty repairs.
Unauthorized repairs will not be compensated by PondMAX, and are not the responsibility of PondMAX, and if such repairs damage
the product, such damages are not remedied under this warranty.
• Purchaser shall bear all shipping, packing and insurance costs and all other costs, excluding labor and parts necessary to effectuate
repair under this warranty.
• This warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties which now or hereafter might otherwise arise with respect to this product. Any and
all limited warranties, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for particular purpose, shall have no greater duration than the
duration period of the express written warranty applicable to this product, and shall terminate automatically the expiration of such duration
period. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. No action
shall be brought for breach of any implied or express warranty after one year subsequent to the expiration of the duration period of the
express written warranty.
• Incidental and consequential damages caused by malfunction, defect, or otherwise, and with respect to breach of any express or
implied warranty, are not the responsibility of PondMAX, and, to the extent permitted by law, are hereby excluded for property damage,
loss of livestock and, to the extent not unconscionable, for personal injury damage. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of
incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
• This warranty does not apply to any malfunction arising out of any application of this product other than normal use, unless such application
is upon request specifically approved in writing by PondMAX.
• The provisions of this warranty are severable and if any provision shall be deemed invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force
and effect.
• Rights under this warranty are not assignable without the express prior consent in writing by PondMAX and, regardless of the terms of
such consent in writing, such assignee shall have no greater rights than his assignor had against PondMAX.

This product is warranted to the initial purchaser to be free of defects in materials and workmanship at the time of initial purchase and for
a period of 2 years for PondMAX® Pond De-Icer. Some parts are consumable and may need to be replaced as part of ongoing product
maintenance and are not covered entirely by this Warranty. In the event this product malfunctions within 2 years from the date of purchase,
the sole obligation of PondMAX USA (hereinafter referred to as PondMAX) will be to repair the unit or replace with an equivalent new or
factory refurbished unit at PondMAX’s discretion, subject to the following condition:
