(Carefully read the following before using the unit)
The“PR-DTC-3000 Type”Tension Controller is a semi-automatic tension control device in the voltage controlled
OPEN-LOOP method. This method presets the starting voltage and the potential gradient of the controller
beforehand, and it calculates current voltage by deducting (Unwinding) or adding (Rewinding) the potential
gradient from or to the starting voltage per every revolution of the spindle. (A revolution detecting proximity sensor
is mounted at the spindle).
The calculated result transmits the output voltage in the range of 0~24V to the load device, that is, POWDER
CLUTCH/BRAKE.
( At the ratio setting section, you may set the number of revolutions per increase/decrease of the potential
gradient.)
Check whether there is any defect in the product and it matches with the packing list.
For the optimal performance and safe use of the product, make sure you have completely understood the
followings before use.
In particular, the product should not be employed for any other purpose than its intended use, and should not be
discretionarily remodeled.
Features of the Product
1) The tension can be controlled by simple adjustment and operation
● The tension can be controlled by setting only the variable voltage, number of revolution and starting voltage.
● A power failure compensation function of remembering the number of revolutions and output value even
when the power goes out.
2) Convenient to use
● Having adopted 3.2 inch Full Color TFT LCD, it provides diverse information such as product movements and
setup, and work progress rate.
● Value setup by operating a dial.
● Fabric data (starting voltage, number of revolutions and variable voltage) can be stored up to maximum 10
kinds. (data 0 to 9)
3) Addition of functions
● Proximity sensors of both PNP and NPN types can be used. (to be selected in SETUP)
● Weak excitation voltage can be set in accordance with the characteristics of Power Brake and Clutch.
● Basic parameters can be changed without entering SETUP mode. (start value, changed value and number of
revolutions)
4) Perfect for the following applications
● Where no precision tension control is required.
● Where the tension detector cannot be attached.
● Where manual calibration is not recommended.
● Where the system is composed of reasonably-priced components.
5) Materials applicable for the controller
● Printing, screen printing
● Packaging, filling, pasting, painting
● Cleaning, drying, fabric, sewing, coloring

Precautions for Installation
- Maintain the right vertical and horizontal angles of the product for installation.
- Install the product in a place devoid of vibration, shock, high temperature or humidity, direct sunlight, much
dust,or air containing much salt or ions.
- Do not install the product within the vicinity of inflammable gases or steam or dust.
- Wire the product as provided in the following drawings and check if all cables are properly connected.
- Ensure the earthing terminal is correctly grounded.
- Ensure the product is detached from the power supply cables or the cables with much electrical noise.
Precautions for Use
- Unwarranted operation of the controller may cause the defects of the object materials.
- Pora shall NOT be responsible for any damages to the controller caused by such operations.
Warning
For the installation and wiring of the controller, completely isolate it from the external power
supply. Failure to do so may result in an electrical shock or damage to the controller.
Precaution
Check the surrounding environment. Do not install the controller where it can be exposed to
excessive dust, conductive dust, corrosive gases, high temperature or rainy wind. It also should
not be installed in the places susceptible to vibrations or shocks. Failure to do so may result in
damages to, or malfunctioning or lowered performance of the controller.
Warning
Use anti-explosive products where there are high risks of inflammation or explosion. Failure to
do so may result in a fire or explosion. Use the anti-explosive products suitable to the given
conditions.

Proximity sensor connecting terminal
※ To attain the perfect compatibility with the controller, make sure to use the cylinder-type proximity sensor by Autonics.
(And also, the 24V NPN or PNP type sensor)
Due to the potential risks of malfunctioning and damages to the unit, make sure to check the above
terminals and match their respective colors.
Precaution : Check the sensor connecting terminals
- Use crimp-style terminals being equal the figure below in size.
- Be sure to fasten terminals tightly so that they would not be a cause of malfunctions.
- Do not install input/output wires through the same duct with other power lines, and do not bind them together.
- The pulse input wire to the roller shaft should be grounded using a shield wire from signal receiver.

The unit can be seriously damaged by the wrong connection (observe the diagram of load connection) of the power
terminal, contacts between the DC input/output wiring and power line, and the short circuit of the output line.
Before supplying power, ensure the appropriate connection between power and grounding, and the input/output wiring.
Precaution : Check power input and wiring
1) Output ON/OFF (OUT Input Terminal)
-
When the Remote Out is On, the control output is generated irrespective of [Out ON/OFF Button] on the panel.
- When the Remote Out if Off, the [Output ON/OFF Button] on the panel becomes valid, and each time the
button is pressed, the control output changes ON → OFF → ON.
2) Diameter Preset (RSD Input Terminal)
- As the initial diameter set when the Remote RSD is On is preset as the reel diameter, the measurement of the
reel diameter becomes initialized.
3) Unwind/Rewind (BWD Input Terminal)
- When the Remote BWD is On, the diameter measurement does Rewind to add diameter.
- When the Remote BWD if Off, the diameter measurement does Unwind to subtract diameter.
4) Emergency Stop (STP Input Terminal)
- When the Remote STP is On, the rate set at the STP is produced in proportion to the immediately preceding
output.
5) Calculation of the Diameter
- The unit always calculates the diameter based on the signals from the proximity switch.
- Based on the calculation, the control output adds at Rewind, and subtracts at Unwind.

Category Descriptions
1 RESET / ESC Button
-Press long (auto/manual mode): The controller is reset to the saved initial value.
- Press once (setup mode): It operates as an ESC button, and performs the function to cancel the
settings or shift to the exit menu.
2 MANU/AUTO Button It switches between manual mode and auto mode.
3 OUT Button Every time it is pressed, output is turned on or off.
4 DIAL Button
Dial: It is used to change various values.
-Press long (manual mode): It lets the user enter the setup menu.
- Press once (setup mode): It operates as an enter button, and performs the function to select an
item or save the settings.
5 FUNCTION Button
-Press long (manual mode): It enables selection of fabric information (data 0 to 9)
- Press once (auto/manual mode): It enables setup of the starting voltage and the number of
revolutions. Whenever it is pressed, the starting voltage and the number of revolutions are
activated to configurable state.

Display Descriptions
1DATA The data (fabric information) number currently used is displayed.
2 EMS It is displayed when the controller is operated.
3 SENSOR It indicates whether the sensor mode is PNP or NPN.
4 EMS Output ratio It indicates the emergency stop rate set by the user when the controller is stopped.
5 Output % The current output value is displayed in percent.
6 Output V The current output value is displayed in volt.
7 Weak excitation voltage It is displayed when the weak excitation voltage is set (0 % or higher).
8 Number of revolutions It shows for how many revolutions the set variable voltage is applied.
9 StepV It shows the voltage changing during the set number of revolutions.
10 STA RT It shows the starting voltage of output.
11 COUNT It indicates the number of revolutions of the fabric (the axis of rotation)

- Activate change of set value by pressing dial button in ‘data selection’.
Check whether there is any problem with the actual output switching among
‘control output’, ‘voltage output’, and ‘current output’ by turning the dial.
-The data value (data 0 to data 9) can be designated by turning the dial button.
-The number of the fabric to be set is selected.

Rewind
1.Starting voltage :
Set the start voltage of the output. During rewinding, the output increases from the start voltage by the number of
revolutions and variable voltage, and during unwinding, the output decreases from the start voltage.
2.Number of revolutions :
It shows the voltage changing during the set number of revolutions.
3.Variable voltage :
Shows for how many revolutions the set variable voltage is applied.

3) User setup
- Turn the dial button in setup menu to move to ‘User setup’
-To move to ‘User setup’, press the dial button.
- ‘EXCITATION, EMS RATE, SENSOR TYPE, OP. MEMORY, BRIGHTNESS, BUTTON SOUND’ can be set by
turning the DIAL.
1. Excitation voltage:
A certain weak voltage may be applied to the brake and clutch to prevent the powder from being
wadded or jammed.
2.Emergency stop rate:
When the EMS terminal is turned on, the output rate is set.
3.Sensor mode :
The proximity sensor mode is set. ( )
4.Operation mode :
It is the function which remembers the current condition. The current condition is maintained when
the power is suddenly cut off or turned off.
5.Screen brightness :
The brightness of the LCD is adjusted.
6.Button sound :
Button sound: It sets whether to use the button sound or not.

- If the output is 20 % and
the EMS set value is 50 %, the output when the EMS is ‘On’ is 10 %
the EMS set value is 100 %, the output when the EMS is ‘On’ is 20 %
the EMS set value is 200 %, the output when the EMS is ‘On’ is 40 %

Set Up & Operation
1. Simple use of the product
The unit can be seriously damaged by the wrong connection (observe the diagram of load connection) of the power
terminal, contacts between the DC input/output wiring and power line, and the short circuit of the output line.
Before supplying, ensure the appropriate connection between power and grounding, and the input/output wiring.
Precaution : Check power input and wiring
Manual mode
1.Press Fn button long to activate DATA and then select a number by turning the dial.
2.Press Fn button to activate Starting Voltage.
3.Set the voltage by turning the dial.
4.If the tension of the actual fabric is proper, switch to auto mode.
Auto mode
1.Observe change in the tension while the line is in progress.
2. If the tension is not proper, activate Number of Revolutions by pressing Fn button twice and then
adjust the tension by changing the number of revolutions.
3.Nullify all activations by pressing Fn button once.
Completion of the
work
1. When the work is completed, switch to manual mode and then reset it to the initial value by
pressing the RESET button long before starting the work again
2. The starting voltage and number of revolutions shall be set only once at the beginning. After
initially setting it for work, if the fabric is same as the previous one, use it from the next work
only after switching between auto and manual modes.
3. If the data number is required to be changed, press Fn button long to activate DATA, and then
change the number by turning the dial. Nullify all activations by pressing Fn button once. If the
button is not activated to violet color, there will be no change when the dial is turned.
Checking before use
1.Check the wiring conditions of all cables before applying the power to the product.
2.Check the input power (22 ~ 26 VCD or 100 ~ 240 VAC) and apply the correct power.

Sample setup
Check the input power (22 ~ 26 VCD or 100 ~ 240 VAC) and apply the correct power.
WARNING : Check the wiring conditions of all cables before applying the power to the product.
Voltage algorithm
1 Setup mode
-To move to ‘Setup’, press the dial button long in MANU mode.
( ※In auto mode, the screen will not be shifted to ‘Setup’ even when the dial button is pressed
long.)
1. Data saving: Press dial button and then designate the data value by turning the dial. (※ A
figure between 0 an 9 can be selected.)
2.Data setup: Enter the data value by turning the dial after pressing the dial button.
(※‘Starting voltage' and ‘number of revolutions’ can be also reset by pressing Fn button on the
main screen.)
2 Manual mode
1. Turn the dial to set the ‘starting voltage’ and ‘number of revolutions’ after pressing the dial,
and then end the setup by pressing Fn button.(※ The values which can be changed will turn
violet.)
2.Change and set the number of revolution checking the actual tension.
3 Auto mode
1.Change and set the number of revolution checking the actual tension.
2.Turn the dial to set the number of revolutions after pressing the dial, and then end the setup by
pressing Fn button.(※ The values which can be changed will turn violet.
4 Completion of the work When the work is completed, switch to manual mode and then reset it to the initial value by
pressing the RESET button long before starting the work again.

inthe previous auto mode becomes effective as manually
controlled output and the value is displayed on the output
