ducts are rugged, safe and easy to use. It is very im-
portant that care is taken when handling this tool, and
that it regularly receives maintenance according to

This appliance is electrically insulated com-
pliant with EN50144 and therefore does not
need to be earthed.

Caution!
Whenever using electrical appliances, always ob-
serve basic rules for safety, including the precau-
tions described below, in order to prevent the dan-
ger of electrical shock, fire and bodily injury.Before
using this product, read these instructions tho-
roughly, and keep them in a safe place for later re-
ference.
Tips for safe use:
1 Keep the working environment tidy
• Untidy work areas and benches are most likely to
cause accidents.
2 Take account of environmental conditions
• Do not expose electric tools to rainwater.
• Never use electric tools in damp or wet conditions.
• Ensure that your work area is well lit.
• Never use electric tools where there is a hazard of
combustion or explosion.
3 Protect yourself from electric shock
• Avoid bodily contact with earthed objects such as
pipes, radiators, heaters and/or refrigerators.
4 Keep children at a distance.
• Allow no other persons to interfere with the electri-
cal appliance or power cord.
• Keep all other persons at a distance from the work
area.
5 Store electric tools in a safe place
• When not in use, electric tools should be stored in a
locked, dry and unexposed place, out of reach of
children.
6 Avoid overloading your electric tool
• You will work safer and more effectively within the
specifications of the tool.
7 Use the right tool for the job
• Do not use underpowered electric tools or accesso-
ries for heavy work.
• Do not use electric tools for jobs they were not des-
igned to do.
8 Wear suitable work clothing
• Wear no loose clothing, ties or jewellery that could
become entangled in moving parts of the machine.
• When working outdoors, rubber gloves and non-
slip footwear is highly recommended.
• If you have long hair, wear a hairnet.
9 Use safety glasses
• When your work generates dust, wear a dust mask.
10 Connect a dust extraction system
• Iftheapplianceisfittedwithanadapterforconnecti-
on to a dust extraction system, ensure that this is
connected and working correctly.
11 Take care of the power cord and avoid misuse of it
• Do not carry the electrical appliance by its power
cord, and never pull on the power cord to remove
the plug from the wall socket.
• Protect the power cord from heat, oil and sharp ob-
jects.
12 Hold the workpiece firmly
• Use clamps or a vice to hold the workpiece firmly
when working. This is a safer way to hold it than
using your hands, and leaves both hands free to
operate the machine.
13 Avoid abnormal working positions
• Ensure that you have a solid footing, and cannot lo-
se your balance.
14 Ensure that your electric tool is carefully maintai-
ned
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean, so you can work
safely and cleanly.
• Observe the instructions for lubrication and repla-
cement of your tools.
• Regularly check the power cord and plug, and have
any necessary replacement performed by an official
service agent.
• Inspect extension cords regularly, and replace them
if damaged.
• Keep handgrips dry and free of oil and grease.
15 Remove the plug from the wall socket
• Whenever the tool is not in use, before doing any
maintenance, and whenever replacing cutting ac-
cessories such as saw blades.
16 Never leave screwdrivers or adjusting tools in the
machine
• Make it a habit before switching on the machine, to
check that any screwdrivers or adjusting tools have
been removed.
17 Prevent unintentional starting
• Never carry a connected electric tool with your fin-
ger on the trigger or switch. Ensure that the power
switch is OFF before you connect the machine.
18 Use of extension cords outdoors
• When working outdoors, only use approved out-
door extension cords.

19 Be alert at all times
• Be alert when working. Work sensibly. Do not use
the electric tool when your concentration is poor.
20 Check your machine for damage
• Before you make further use of the machine, care-
fully inspect whether any damaged safety features
or any other damaged parts will prevent safe and ef-
fective operation.
• Check that moving parts are in proper working or-
der, and whether they might be jammed or dama-
ged. Every component must be correctly assem-
bled and fulfil all specifications for correct functio-
ning of the machine.
• Any damaged safety features or damaged parts
must be repaired or replaced by an official service
agent, unless otherwise indicated in the instructi-
ons for use.
• Damaged power switches may only be replaced by
an official service agent.
•Never use any electric tool of which the power
switch cannot be turned on or off.
21 Caution
• For your own safety, use no accessories or attach-
ments that are not recommended in the instructions
for use.
22 Have your machine repaired by a qualified service
agent
• This appliance complies with the applicable safety
regulations.
• All repairs, without exception, should be carried out
by qualified personnel and with the use of original
spare parts, otherwise the user may be exposed to
serious safety hazards.
SCOPE OF USE
This jigsaw can be used to saw many materials
(wood, aluminium, plastic, metal, etc.) exactly to
size, and in almost any shape desired. The maxi-
mum thickness of the material to be sawn is 70
mm (for wood).
Any other use (such as stationary use) is strictly
prohibited.
When sawing hard materials, always reduce
the stroke length.

Troubleshooting
Problem
The electric motor becomes hot
The machine will not run
Sawing is difficult and the cut is
irregular
When sawing, the workpiece
vibrates excessively
The machine runs erratically
and/or noisily
Possible cause
The motor is overloaded through over-
sized workpieces

The power is cut off

MAINTENANCE
Before performing any maintenance or cleaning, al-
ways disconnect the power. Never clean the electri-
cal parts of the jigsaw using water.
To avoid unnecessary problems, perform regular
maintenance on the jigsaw, . To ensure that your ma-
chine continues to function problem-free, you
should:
• keep the footplate thoroughly clean, so that it can
continue to saw precisely.
• keep the casing of the jigsaw thoroughly clean, so
that contamination does not cause misalignment
and wear on the moving parts.
• keep the air inlets of the motor clean, so that the
motor will not overheat.
• replace worn carbon brushes, as soon as the jig-
saw starts to run erratically and noisily. Problem-
free functioning of your jigsaw cannot otherwise
be guaranteed. Have the carbon brushes repla-
ced by the nearest service agent.
• regularly oil the saw blade guide roller.
Cleaning
Clean the machine casing regularly using a soft cloth,
preferably after each use. Ensure that the ventilation
slots are free of dust and contamination. Use a soft
cleaning cloth, lightly moistened with soapsuds, to
remove persistent contamination of the casing. Do
not use any cleaning fluids such as petrol, alcohol,
ammonia, etc.
These materials adversely affect the synthetic parts.
Lubrication
Further lubrication of the machine is not necessary.
Troubleshooting
Whenever a problem occurs – for example, due to
wear on a part – you should contact your nearest
service agent. At the end of these instructions for use
you will find an exploded diagram with all the spare
parts that can be ordered.
