CarbonMonoxideHazards

·Themufflerbecomesveryhotduringoperationandremainshotforawhileafterstoppingthe
engine.Becarefulnottotouchthemufflerwhileitishot.Lettheenginecoolbeforestoring
thegeneratorindoors.
·Gasolineisextremelyflammableandisexplosiveundercertainconditions.Donotsmokeor
allowflamesorsparkswherethegeneratorisrefueledorwheregasolineisstored.Refuelin
awell-ventilatedareawiththeenginestopped.
·Fuelvaporsareextremelyflammableandmayigniteaftertheenginehasstarted.Makesure
thatanyspilledfuelhasbeenwipedupbeforestartingthegenerator.
·Alwayskeepfuelawayfromsparks,openflames,pilotlights,heatandothersourcesof
ignition.
·DONOTlightorsmokecigarettes.
WARNING:WhenusetheLPGgenerator,iffindanyproblems(LPGleakageorstrange
smells),pleaseturnoffthegassourceimmediatelyandthenchecktheconnection
hosetoinsurethesafely.
WARNING:1.WhenusingtheLPG/Gasolinegenerator,pleasebesurethatthereisatleast5
feetdistancebetweenLGPtankconnectinghoseandthegenerator,toprevent
unnecessarydangerbecauseofhightemperaturesurfaceofLGPtank.
2.Whenusingtheunit,pleasecheckthesurfacetemperatureofLPGtank.
3.Don'tplacetheLPGtankinoneplacewhereambienttemperatureabove35℃
anduseLPGforelectricitygenerating.

ChokeRod
Thechokeisusedtoprovideanenrichedfuelmixturewhenstartingacoldengine.Itcanbe
openedandclosedbyoperatingthechokelevermanually.Movethechokeleverorpullthe
chokerodouttotheCLOSEDpositiontoenrichthemixtureforcoldstarting.
VoltageSelectorSwitch
Thevoltageselectorswitchesthemainpowercarryingwindingsofthegeneratortoproduce
"120VONLY"or"120/240V".Ifa240Vapplianceisconnectedtothe4-prongreceptacle,the
switchmustbeinthe"120/240V"position.Ifonlya120Vapplianceisbeingconnectedtoany
ofthe120V3-prongreceptacles,selectthe"120VONLY"position.
120/240V:The120Vand120/240Vreceptaclescanbeusedsimultaneously.120V

TheDCcircuitprotectorautomaticallyshutsofftheDCbatterychargingcircuitwhentheDC
chargingcircuitisoverloaded,whenthereisaproblemwiththebattery,orwhentheconnections
betweenthebatteryandthegeneratorareimproper.
OilAlertSystem
TheOilAlertSystemisdesignedtopreventenginedamagecausedbyaninsufficientofoilin
thecrankcase.Beforetheoillevelinthecrankcasecanfallbelowasafetylimit,theoilalert
systemwillautomaticallystoptheengine(theengineswitchwillremainintheONposition).If
theenginestopsandwillnotrestart,checktheengineoillevelbeforetroubleshootinginother
areas.

AutoThrottleSystem
Theautothrottlesystemautomaticallyreducesenginespeedwhenallloads(i.e.:toolsand
appliances)areturnedoffordisconnected.Whenloadsareturnedonorreconnected,the
enginereturnstotheratedspeed.
SwitchPosition
ON:Recommendedtominimizefuelconsumptionandfurtherreducenoiselevelswhenno
loadisappliedtothegenerator.Theautothrottlesystemdoesnotoperate.
OFF:Recommendedtominimizewarm-uptimewhenthegeneratorisstartedandstartingload
withlargestart-uppowerequipments.
*NOTICE:Ifconnecttoaresidence,itisrecommendedthattheautothrottlebekeptinthe
“ON” position if less than 50% load is being used. If the generator will be running over
50% it is recommended that you switch to the “OFF” position.

Thecircuitbreakermust be in the “ON” position inordertostartrunningaload,butitwill
automaticallyswitch“OFF”ifthereisashortcircuitorasignificantoverloadofthegeneratorat
thereceptacle.IfthecircuitbreakerisswitchedOFFautomatically,checkthattheapplianceis
workingproperlyanddoesnotexceedtheratedloadcapacityofthecircuitbeforeswitchingthe
circuitbreakerONagain.

GasDenserDevice
TodevelopcoldstartperformanceofLPG/NGgeneratorunit,theairREDUCERASSYincludes
onegasdenserdevicelever,thedetailedoperationofthebottomisasbelow.
Choosetheconnectoraccordingtothegasyouuse:
●IfyouuseLPG,youneedtoputtheLPGhosetotheLPGinlet,maketheNGinletscrew
andsealwellwiththenutandturntheLPG/NGselectorswitchtoLPGposition.
●IfyouuseNG,youneedtoputtheNG
hosetotheNGinlet,maketheLPGinlet
screwandsealwellwiththenutandturn
theLPG/NGselectorswitchtotheNG
position.
WhenstartthecoldLPG/NGgeneratorunit,
openthevalveofLPGtankorNGsource,close
theresistanceairvalvehandle,pushthegas
denserdeviceleverlightly,andkeep1-2
seconds,thenstop,andthenstarttheengine
normally.
CAUTION:Impropertreatmentoruseofthe
generatorcandamageit,shortenits
lifeandvoidyourwarranty
●Thegasdenserdeviceleveronlydoes
workafterturningonthegassourcevalve,ifstartnormally,noneedpullthelever,
otherwiseitwillcausegeneratorunitworkabnormally;
●Whenpushthegasdenserdevicelever,thekeepingtimemustnotover2seconds,
otherwiseitisnotgoodforstart;Noneedtopushthegasdenserdeviceleveratevery
start,onlyneedtousewhenthefirststartofthecoldgeneratorunitorwhenneedto
changeGas;
●Ifwithabnormality,pleasecontactus;
●ProhibitadjustingtheLPGgas-pressureadjustingscrewandgasflowadjustingscrew.

GENERATORUSE
ConnectionstoaBuildingElectricalSystem
Connectionsforstandbypowertoabuildingelectricalsystemmustbemadebyaqualified
electrician.Theconnectionmustisolatethegeneratorpowerfromutilitypower,andmust
complywithallapplicablelawsandelectricalcodes.
WARNING:Improperconnectionstoabuildingelectricalsystemwillallowelectricalcurrentfrom
thegeneratortobackfeedintotheutilitylines.Suchbackfeedwillelectrocuteutility
companyworkersorotherswhocontactthelinesduringapoweroutage,andthe
generatormayexplode,burn,orcausefireswhenutilitypowerisrestored.Consultthe
utilitycompanyoraqualifiedelectrician.
GroundSystem
Generatorshaveasystemcircuitthatconnectsgeneratorframecomponentstotheground
terminalsintheACoutputreceptacles.ThesystemcircuitisnotconnectedtotheACneutral
wire.Ifthegeneratoristestedbyareceptacletester,itwillshowthesamegroundcircuit
conditionasforahomereceptacle.
ACApplications
Beforeconnectinganapplianceorpowercordtothegenerator:
•Makesurethatitisingoodworkingorder.Faultyappliancesorpowercordscanbecome
hazardousandcauseelectrocution.
•Ifanappliancebeginstooperateabnormally,operatessluggishorstopssuddenly,turnit
offimmediately.Disconnecttheappliance,anddeterminewhethertheproblemisthe
appliance,oriftheratedloadcapacityofthegeneratorhasbeenexceeded.
•Makesurethattheelectricalratingofthetoolorappliancedoesnotexceedthatofthe
generator.Neverexceedthemaximumpowerratingofthegenerator.Powerlevels
betweenratedandmaximummaybeusedfornomorethan30minutes
NOTICE:Substantialoverloadingwillopenthecircuitbreaker.Exceedingthetimelimitfor
maximumpoweroperationorslightlyoverloadingthegeneratormaynotswitchthe
circuitbreakerorcircuitprotectorOFF,butwillshortentheservicelifeofthe
generator.
Limitoperationrequiringmaximumpowerto30minutes.Forcontinuousoperation(longerthan
30minutes),donotexceedtheratedpower.Thetotalpowerrequirements(kW)ofall
appliancesconnectedmustbeconsidered.Applianceandpowertoolmanufacturersusuallylist
ratinginformationnearthemodelnumberorserialnumber.
ACOperation
1.Starttheengine.
2.Turnthevoltageselectorswitchtoeitherposition.

With the voltage selector switch in the ‘‘120/240V’’ position, you can use the 120V and
120/240Vreceptaclessimultaneously.IfyouareNOTusingthe120/240Vreceptacle,but
require more power from the 120V locking plug receptacle, then select the ‘‘120V ONLY’’
position.

Mostmotorizedappliancesrequiremorethantheirratedpowerforstartup.
Donotexceedthecurrentlimitspecifiedforanyonereceptacle.Ifanoverloadedcircuitcauses
theACcircuitbreakerorACcircuitprotectortoswitchOFF,reducetheelectricalloadonthe
circuit,waitafewminutesandthenresettheACcircuitbreakerorACcircuitprotector.
ACReceptacleSelection
Thegeneratorhastwoseparatemainpowerproducingcircuits.Thesetwocircuitssupplyequal
powertodifferentreceptaclesshownwhenthevoltageselectorswitchisinthe120/240V
position.
Whentwoormorereceptaclesareused;topreventoverloading,dividingtheloadbetweenthe
twopowercircuits.
Example:
Thechartbelowshowstheratedloadinamperesthatcanbeconnectedtoeachreceptacleto
balancethegenerator.

ventilationwhenchargingorusing
batteries.

2.Connectthepositive(+)batterycableto

Someconventionalgasolinefuelsarebeingblendedwithalcoholoranethercompound.This

areasoftheUnitedStatesandCanadauseoxygenatedfuelstohelpreduceemissions.
Ifyouuseanoxygenatedfuel,besureitisunleadedandmeetstheminimumoctanerating
requirement.
Beforeusinganoxygenatedfuel,trytoconfirmthefuel'scontents.
Somestates/provincesrequirethisinformationtobepostedonthepump.
