limitations, andthe potentialhazards specificto your
unit.
•Storethe Pressurewasher in awellventilated area
withthe fueltank empty.Fuelshouldnot bestored
near thepressure washer.
•Neveroperateundertheses conditions:
a.Anoticeablechangeinenginespeed.
b.Anoticeablelossof pressure.
c.Theenginemisfires.
d.Smokeor flames arepresent.
e.Enclosedcompartment.
f.Excessive vibration.
g.Rain or inclement weather.
•Water spraymust never be directedtowards any
electricwiring or directly towards the pressure
washer.
•Do not allow thehoseto comeincontactwith hot
muffler.
•Equipmentmustbeplacedon afirm,supporting
surface.
•Removethespark plug or cablefrom thespark plug
to preventaccidentalstarting,whennot inuse, or
prior todetachingthe highpressure hose.
•Keepthepressure washerclean and freeof oil,mud
andotherforeign matter.
•Do not wearloose clothing ,jewelry, or anything that
maybe caughtintheengine.
•Neverdirectsprayatpeopleor pets.
•Neverallow childrento operatepressurewasher at
anytime.
•Use bothhands tocontrol thewand.
•Do nottouchnozzle or water spraywhileoperating.
•Wear safety goggles whileoperating.
•Onlyapproved hoses andnozzles shouldbeused.
•The triggergun mustnotbejammed in position
during operation.
•Never tieknotsor kink thehigh pressurehose.
•Allhose connections must be properlysealed.
•Prior tostartingthe pressurewasherincold weather,
besureicehas not formedinany partofthe
equipment.
•Use onlyrecommended chemicals.
•Outdoors use only.
•Placethepressure washerawayfromcleaningsite
during operation.
•Toprevent accidentaldischarge, thespray gun should
besecured by lockingtrigger when notinuse.
•Do notrunthe pressurewasherfor more than five
minutes withoutdepressing thetriggeror damageto
the pumpmayresult.
•Checkthe fuelsystemperiodicallyforleaks or signs
ofdeterioration such as chafedorspongyhose, loose
ormissing clamps,or damagedtank or cap. All
defects shouldbecorrected beforeoperation.
•Do nottouchhotmuffler.
•Service,operateand refuelunder thefollowing
conditions.
a.Goodventilation.
b.Refuelthepressurewasherin awelllightedarea.
c.Avoid fuelspillsand neverrefuelwhilethe
pressure washeris running.
d.Avoid an ignition sourcewhen refueling.
e.Use leadfreefuelwithaminimumof 85 octane.
•Do notsmoke near thepressurewasher.
•Do notusedamagedhigh-pressurehoses.

THERMALRELIEFVALVE
Athermalreliefvalve is provided toprotect thepump
fromoverheatingifthe spraygunisclosedforanextended
lengthoftimeor the nozzlebecomes plugged.However,itis
intended to beusedasabackup systemand every effort
shouldbemade to notpermit thepumptoheatup.
Werecommend turning thepressurewasher offif it will
notbeusedfor morethanfive minutes.This saveswear on
theunit, reducesfuelconsumptionand extends thelifeofthe
pumpbyavoidingheat.
SAFETY LOCKOFFLATCH
Topreventaccidentaldischargeofhigh pressurewater,
thesafetylatchon thetriggershouldbe engagedwheneverthe
pressurewasheris notinuse. (Referto Operating
Instructions.)
LOW-OILSHUTDOWN
Theunitisequipped withalow oil sensor. Ifthe engine
oillevelbecomes lowerthanrequired,thepressure washer
willautomaticallyshutoff. This protectsyourpressure
washerengine fromoperating without properlubrication.
If thepressure washerengine shuts offand theoillevelis
accordingtospecification,check to seeifthepressure washer
is setting atanangle thatforces oiltoshift.Placeonaneven
surfacetocorrectthis.If the enginefails tostart, theoil level
maynot besufficienttodeactivatelow oillevelswitch.Be
sure thesump is completely fullof oil.
SPARK ARRESTINGMUFFLER
YOUR PRODUCTMAYNOT BE EQUIPPED WITH ASPARK
ARRESTINGMUFFLER. If the product will beusedaround
flammable materials,such as agriculturalcrops,forests,brush,grass,
orothersimilaritems,thenan approved spark arrestershouldbe
installedand islegallyrequiredintheStateofCalifornia.The
Californiastatutesrequiring asparkarresterareSections13005(b),
4442 and 4443.SparkArrestersarealso requiredonsome U.S.Forest
Service land andmay also be legally required under other statutesand
ordinances.Anapprovedsparkarresterisavailablefromyour

FUEL
Fillthe tank withclean,fresh unleadedautomotive

octane).
Gasolineisvery dangerous.Serious injury mayresultfrom
firecaused by gasolinecontacting hot surfaces.
Do not overfillthe tank.Keepmaximumfuellevel1/2
inch below thebottomof thefillerneck.This willallow
expansion in hot weatherand preventoverflow.

WATERCONNECTION
Before connectingtounit, run waterthrough thegarden
hose (notsupplied)toflush outany foreign matter.Checkthat
thescreen is cleanand is in the inlet ofthepump. Attach
garden hose tothepressurewasher waterinlet. (See Figure2,
page6).
NOTE: Thewatersupplymustprovide aminimum of
4g.p.m. at20 p.s.i. orthe pump will be damaged.
START-UPPROCEDURE
1.Makesure water supplyis connected and turnedon.
2.Releasegun safety if locked.
3.Toallowair to escapefromthehose, squeezetrigger on
thegununtil there is asteady stream ofwatercoming
fromthenozzle.
4.Removeany dirt orforeign matterfromthegun outlet and
themale connectorofthewand.
5.Insert thenozzlewand intothegunwand andtightenthe
twistfast fitting securelyby hand.
STARTINGTHE ENGINE(See Figure2, page6)
1.Checkoilandfuel level.
2.Adjust chokeprime as necessary.
3.Set theengineswitch tothe“ON”position.
4.Squeeze trigger on pressurewasher torelease pressure
while pulling on theenginestarterropewithafast steady
pull. Pressure may otherwise buildup making starting the
unit difficult.
5.Astheenginewarmsup,readjust thechoke.
1.Attach injection tubeassembly tothe siphoninjector on
thepump.(SeeFigure2,page6).
2.Open acontainerofColeman® Powermate®Pressure
WasherChemical and place next to theunitnearthe
injectiontube.
3.Visuallyinspectstrainerattheend of theinjectiontube to
verify thatit is notclogged.
4.Insertthe injection tubeintothe containerallthe way to
thebottom.
5.If chemicalinjectionis adjustable,setinjectionrateby
turning valve clockwise untilitistight. Thenturn valve
counterclockwiseto increase injector rateand clockwise
to decrease injectorrate.
6.If your pressurewasher is equippedwith removable
nozzles, removethe high-pressure nozzlefromthewand
and installtheblackinjectionnozzle. The solution will
automaticallybemixed withthe water and discharged
through thenozzle.
7.If your pressurewasher is equippedwith an adjustable
nozzle, thelow pressurenozzlepositionshould be used
when operating thechemicalinjectortoapplychemicals.
Whenlow pressureisrequired,grasp and slide thenozzle
coverawayfromthegun.
NOTE:Forcertain models, if the engine throttleis notin
the“fast” position,theinjection of the solution
may bedecreased orstopped.
If thewand is not securelylockedinto place, itcouldbe
ejectedunderhigh pressurewhen operating thegun,
possibly causing injury or damage.
This pressurewasher is intendedfor use only with
liquidcarwash detergents, developed specificallyfor
pressure washerand withmildsoaps. Werecommendthe
useof Coleman®Powermate®PressureWasherChemicals.

Cleaning Techniques
When cleaningwith thepressurewasher, many cleaning
tasks can be solved withwateralone, butfor most tasks itis
advantageous to use adetergentalso.Adetergent ensures a
quick soaking of thedirt allowing thehigh pressurewaterto
penetrateandremovethedirt more effectively.
Coleman®Powermate®PressureWasherChemicalsare
speciallyformulated tobeusedwith yourpressure washer.
APPLICATION OFSOAPOR DEGREASER
1.Applythe solutiontoaDRYwork surface.
On averticalsurface, apply horizontallyfromsidetoside
starting from thebottomtoavoidstreaking.
NOTE: Wetting thesurfacefirst is notrecommended, as it
dilutesthedetergent and reducesits cleaning ability.
Avoid working on hot surfacesorin directsunlight to
minimizethechances of the chemical damaging painted
surfaces.Damagemay occurtopainted surfaceif
chemical is allowed to dryon thesurface. Hold nozzlefar
enough away from surfaceto prevent damagetothe
surface.
2.Allow chemicaltoremainonthe surfaceforashorttime
before rinsing.
3.Rinsewith cleanwaterunderhigh pressure. Onavertical
surface, firstrinse fromthe bottomup, thenrinsefromthetop
down.Holdnozzle6to 8inches fromthe work surfaceata
45°angleusing theflatsprayas apeelingtoolratherthana
scrubbrush.
APPLICATION OFWAX
1.Immediately after cleaning, apply Coleman®
Powermate®PressureWasher Wax.Placeinjectiontube
in containerofwax.
2.Applythe wax sparinglyinan evenlayer. Applytowet
surfaces fromthebottomup for evendistribution andto
avoid streaking.
3.Removethesuctiontubefromthewaxbottleand rinse off
thesurplus wax.
NOTE: IFSURPLUS WAX IS NOT REMOVED,A
HAZY FINISHMAYRESULT.
4.Wipe dry to reducewaterspotting.
End ofOperation
When you have completed use of thechemicalinjection
system,remove tubefromcontainer.Continuetorun inlow
pressureposition andinjectclean water through thetubeand
injection systembyplacingend of tubeinacontainer of clean
water. Continue torununtilitis thoroughlycleaned.
CONNECTIONS
Connections on pressurewasher hoses,gun and spray
wand shouldbecleaned regularly andlubricatedwith the
manufacturer’srecommendedgreasetoprevent leakageand
damagetotheo-rings.
NOZZLE
If the high pressure/low pressure adjustmentofthe nozzle
becomesdifficult, pleasecontactColeman®Powermate®
Customer ServiceDepartmentfor proper cleaningand
lubrication procedures.
Clogging of thenozzlecauses thepumppressure tobetoo
high andcleaning is immediately required.
1.Separatethewand fromthe gun.
2.Clear thenozzlewith asmallrigid pieceof wire suchas a
paperclip.
3.Flush thenozzlebackwards with water.
4.Reconnectthe wandtothe gun.
Restart thepressurewasher anddepress thetrigger on the
spray gun.If thenozzleis still pluggedorpartially plugged,
repeataboveitems 1-4.
If the previous procedure doesnotclear thenozzle,
replacewithanewnozzle.
WATER SCREEN
Thepressurewasheris equippedwithawaterinletscreen
to protectthepump.If thescreenisnotkeptclean,it will
restrictthe flow of water tothe pressurewasher and may
causedamageto thepump.Do not damage thescreenwhile
removingorcleaning screen.Any foreignparticles entering
thepumpmaydamagethepump.Do not operatepressure
washerwithoutthe screeninplace.
Removethe screen andbackflush toremoveimpurities
fromscreen. Replaceimmediately.
ENGINE MAINTENANCE
During thewinter months,rare atmosphericconditions
maydevelop whichwillcauseanicing condition inthe
carburetor. Ifthis develops,theenginemayrunrough,lose
power,and maystall. This temporaryconditioncan be
overcomeby deflecting someof thehot airfromthe engine
over thecarburetor area.
NOTE:Refer topages11and12 forserviceand
maintenanceoftheengine.

PUMPSTORAGE
Ifyou muststoreyourpressurewasher inalocation wherethe
temperatureis below32°F, you canminimizethe chance ofdamage
toyourmachine by utilizing the following procedure:
1.Shutoff water supplyand relieve pressurein the spraygun
by depressingthetrigger.Disconnectthe garden hose
fromthepressurewasher, butleavethe high-pressure hose
connected.
2.Tip the unit on itsside with the inletconnection pointingup.
3.Insert a smallfunnel(to prevent spilling)into the inlet
andpourin approximately 1/4 cupof RVantifreeze.
4.Disconnect sparkplugwire.
5.Without connectinggarden hose pull the recoilseveral
timesto circulatetheantifreezein the pump system.
Continue to add antifreeze and pull the recoil until the
antifreeze isexpelled when thetrigger is pulled.
6.Turn the unit upright.
Anothermethod ofreducing risks of freezedamageis todrain
your pressurewasher asfollow:
1.Stopthepressure washerand detach supply hoseand high
pressure hose. Squeeze thetriggerofthedischargegun to
drainallwater fromthe wandand hose.
2.Restartthe pressure washerand let it run briefly(about5
seconds)until waterno longer discharges fromthehigh
pressure outlet.
ENGINE STORAGE
When the pressure washer is notbeing operatedor is being
stored morethan one month,followthese instructions:
1.Replenish engineoilto upperlevel.
2.Drain gasoline fromfuel tank,fuel line,fuelvalve and
carburetor.
3.Pourabout one teaspoon ofengine oil throughthe spark
plug hole,pull the recoil starter severaltimes and replace
the plug.Thenpullthe starterslowlyuntil you feel
increased pressure which indicates the piston is on its
compression stroke and leave it in that position.This
closes both the intake andexhaustvalvesto prevent the
inside ofthecylinder fromrusting.
4.Cover the pressurewasher and storein a clean, dry place
thatis well ventilated awayfromopen flameor sparks.
NOTE: Theuse ofafueladditive,suchas Coleman®
Powermate®GeneratorFuelAdditive, oran equivalent,will
minimize theformulationof fuel gumdepositsduring storage,
Suchanadditive may be added tothe gasolinein thefuel tank of
theengine,orto thegasoline inastoragecontainer.

emission-relatedwarranted part, providedthat such diagnosticwork is performed atan authorizedPowermatewarranty service

(6)Powermateis liablefordamages toother engine or pressure washercomponents proximatelycaused byafailure underwarranty of
any warranted part.
(7)Throughout the pressure washer warrantyperiodstated above,Powermatewillmaintain asupply ofwarranted parts sufficientto
meet the expecteddemandforsuchparts.
(8)Anyreplacement partmaybe used in the performanceof anywarranty maintenance orrepairs and mustbe provided without charge
to the owner.Such use will not reduce the warranty obligations ofPowermate.

N’essayezPAS de fairedémarrerlemoteur dunettoyeur
sans remplirl’arbre coudé du moteurdelabonnequantitéet
sorted’huile(Voirpages 22 et23etFigure2). On aexpédié
le moteur devotrenettoyeur del’usinesans huiledans l'arbre
coudédu moteur. Vous pouvezdétruirelemoteurenfaisant
fonctionner l’appareil sans huile.
Lapompeaétélivréeavecleplein d'huile.Avant
d'utiliser lalaveuseàpression,vérifiezleniveaud'huilede la
pompeafinqu'ilcorrespondeaux directives du fabricant.
(VoirFigure 2).Utilisezl'huilerecommandéeparlefabricant
de lapompe. NE PASLAREMPLIRÀL'EXCÈS.
Silapompe nepossède pas de jauged'huileou devoyant
latéralàglace,vérifiers'iln'yapasdefuites d'huilepar la
pompe.Lapompe estexpédiéede l'usineavecsonhuile. Pour
un bon entretien, suivrele programmerecommandé parle
fabricant delapompe.
CARBURANT
Remplissezleréservoir avecdel’essenced'automobile
propre, fraîche sans plomb.(VoirFigure2).On peututiliser
l’essencerégulière si l’on aun indiced’octane élevé(au
moins d’indice85).
AVANT TOUTE UTILISATION
L’essenceest trèsdangereuse. Desérieuses blessurespeu-
ventrésulterd'un feu causé parl’esenceentrantencontact
avecdes surfaces chaudes.
Ne pas tropremplir leréservoir. Maintenirleniveau
d’essencemaximum àdeux centimètres au-dessous du haut
du goulotde remplissement. Cecipermetl’expansion du
carburant pendantles périodesdechaleur etempêche
l’essencede déborder.

RACCORDEMENT D’EAU
Avantde raccorder l’appareil,faitescoulerl’eau dans letuyau
d'arrosage (non compris)pourévacuertoute matièreétrangère.
Vérifiez quela grillesoit propre etdansl’arrivée dela pompe. Fixez
letuyau à laprised’eau du nettoyeur hautepression.(VoirFigure
2,page 16).
REMARQUE: L’alimentation en eaudoitfournirun minimum
de 4 g.p.m.à 20 p.s.i.sinon lapompe pourrait être
endommagée.
PROCÉDURE DE LANCEMENT
1.Assurez-vousque l'alimentation d’eausoit raccordée et
en marche.
2.Dégagezle dispositif deverrouillage du pistolet, au
besoin.
3.Pourpermettre à l'air de s’échapperdutuyau,appuyez
surlagachette dupistoletjusqu'à ce qu’il y ait un jet
d’eauuniformes'échappant de l'embout.
4.Retireztoute poussière oumatièreétrangère de l’orifice
de sortiedu pistolet ainsi quedu raccord de la baguette.
5.Insérezla baguette-busedansla baguette du pistolet et
resserrezle raccordentournantmanuellement.
MISEEN MARCHEDU MOTEUR: (Voir Figure2, page16)
1.Vérifiez les niveaus d’huileet decarburant.
2.Ajustez le voletde départsinécessaire.
3.Réglezle démarreuren position “ON”.
4.Appuyez sur la gâchettedu nettoyeurhaute pression pour
dégager lapression touten tirantsurla cordedudémarreur d’un
coup rapide etégalsinon lapressionpeuts’accumuler
rendant la mise en marcheplusdifficile.
5.Ajustez le voletde départpendantque le moteurse réchauffe.

le débitentournantàfondlerobinetdans lesens des
aiguilles d'une montre. Tournezensuitelerobinetdans le
sens contraire des aiguillesd'unemontre pour augmenter
le débitd'injection ou dans lesens des aiguillesd'une
montre pourlediminuer.
6.Silalaveuseàpressionestéquipéedebuses amovibles,
retirezlabusehautepressiondelatige etinstallezlabuse
d'injection noire.Lasolution se mélangera
automatiquement àl'eauetrefluera alors par labuse.
7.Silalaveuseàpressionestmunied'une buse réglable, il
fautlamettre enpositionbasse pressionlors de
l'utilisationdel'injecteuraux fins d'application des
produits chimiques.Pour passerenmodebasse pression,
saisissezla buseetéloignezsa bague coulissantedu
pistoletenlafaisantglisser.
REMARQUE:
Silavitessedu moteurn’estpas enposition “fast”,
l’injection delasolution peut diminuer ou s’arrêter.
Si labaguetten’estpasbien verrouilléeenplace,ellepeut

Durantles moisd’hiver, il peut yavoirdes conditions.
atmosphériques raresquipourraitgelerlecarburateur.Si ceci
seproduit,lemoteurpeut maltourner, perdredelapuissance
et s’arrêter. Ceproblèmepassager peutêtresolutionnéen
dirigeant un peud’airchauddu moteur vers lecarburateur.

RANGEMENTDE LAPOMPE
Si vous devezranger votre nettoyeuràhautepression
dans un endroitoùlatempératureest sous 0°C, vous pouvez
réduireles risquesdedommages enutilisant ladémarche
suivante:
1.Coupezl'alimentationeneauetrelâchezlapression dans
lepistoletpulvérisateurenappuyantsur lagâchette.
Débranchezletuyau d'arrosage delalaveuseàpression
touten assurant leraccordementdu flexiblehaute
pression.
2.Mettezl’appareilsurlecôté,laconnexion d’entréevers le
haut.
3.Insérezun petitentonnoir(pour éviterles fuites) dans
l’orificed’entréeetversez-yenviron 1/4 tassed’antigel.
4.Débranchezlefildelabougie.
5.Sans raccorder letuyaud’arrosage, tirezsur lemécanisme
derappelplusieurs fois afindefaire circulerl'antigel
dans lesystèmede lapompe.Continuezàajouter de
l’anti-geletdetirersurlemécanismede rappeljusqu’àce
quel’anti-gelsorteen tirantsur lagâchette. Débranchez
letuyauhautepression. L’anti-gelserviraàempêcher la
rouilledurant l’entreposage etaideraàempêcher les
pistons decoller.
6.Mettezl'appareil debout.
Une autreméthodepour réduire lesrisques de gelest de
vidangervotreappareil commesuit:
1.Arrêtezlenettoyeuràhautepressionetretirezle
tuyau d’alimentationetletuyauàhautepression.
Appuyezsur lagâchettedu pistoletde déchargeafin
dedrainerl’eau delabaguette etdutuyau.
2.Remettez enmarchelenettoyeur àhautepression et
laissez-lefonctionner brièvement (environ5
secondes)jusqu’à cequ’iln’y aitplus d’eauqui
s’écoulede lasortieàhautepression.
RANGEMENTDU MOTEUR
Lorsque lenettoyeur hautepression n’est pas utilisé ou
lorsqu’ilestrangépour plus d'unmois,suivezces instructions:
1.Ajoutezdel'huileàmoteur jusqu’auniveau supérieur.
2.Vidangezl’essencedu réservoir, de latuyauterie, dela
soupape etducarburateur.
3.Versezenvironunecuilleréeàcafé d’huileàmoteurdans
le trou delabougie, tirezsur lelanceur àrappelplusieurs
fois et replacezlabougie. Puis tirezsur ledémarreur
lentement jusqu'àceque vous sentiezune pression accrue
indiquant que lepistonestenmodede compression et
laissez-le ainsi.Cecifermeles soupapes d’entréeet
d’échappementafind’éviterquel’intérieur du cylindrene
rouille.
4.Couvrezlenettoyeur hautepression et rangez-ledans un
endroit propre etsec,bien ventiléetloindeflammes nues
et d’étincelles.
REMARQUE: Vous minimiserezles dépôts de gomme
decarburant durant lerangementen utilisant un additif
d’essence, telqueColeman® Powermate®Generator Fuel
Additiveou l’équivalent.Un teladjuvant peut s’ajouterà
l’essencedans lerésevoir du moteurou àl'essencedu
contenantde rangement.
Avant deremettre l’appareil enmarche, dégeleztouteglace
destuyauxdenettoyeur, du pistoletde pulvérisation etdela
baguette.
