bladeor cutter for cracksor missingteeth. Do

acrackedor dull biadeor onewith missingteeth or improper set. Make surethe bladeor cutter
issecurelylocked on the arbor. Checkthe alignmentof the splitter andfence. Make surethe fenceor fix-
ture islocked andthat the table isfree of tools andmaterialexceptthe stock to becut.

3. Whenusing the miter gauge,
the work piece must be held firmly and be advancedsmoothly
at a slow rate. If the work pieceis not held firmly, it canvibrate causingit to bind on the
blade and dull the sawteetl.
To improve the effectiveness
of the miter gauge
in crosscut-
ting, someusersmount an aux-
iliary wooden extension face
with a glued-on strip of sand'
paper to the miter gauge,
(Fig.
7).
Provide
auxiliary support for
any work piecewhich extends
beyond the table top enough
to tend to sag
and lift up off
the table. Auxiliary Facing (Fig. 7)
Stop rods can be usedin the holesprovided in the miter gaugefor repetitive work of equal
length. Do not useastop rod on the freeend of awork piece. It shouldbeusedon the side
of the miter gaugeopposite the sawblade.
Have
the blade extend about 1/8" above
the top of the work piece. Exposingthe bladeabove
this point canbehazardous.
BEVEL andMITER OPERATIONS:
1. A bevelcut is a specialtype of operation where the sawblade is tilted at an angleless
then 90o
to the table top. Operations areto be performed in the same
manner asripping or crosscutting
exceptthe fenceor miter gaugeshould beused
on the right-handside
of the sawbladeto pro-
vide addedsafety in avoiding a binding action between the sawblade and table top. When bev-
eling with the miter gauge,the work piecemust be held firmly to prevent creeping.
2. Crosscutsmadeat an angleto the edgeof the work piecearecalled rniters. Set the miter gauge
at the required angle,lock the miter gauge,and make the cut the same
asa normal crosscut ex-
cept hold the work pieceextra firmly to prevent creeping.
3. Have the blade
extend about 1/8" abovethe top of the work piece. Exposing
the bladeabove
this point canbehazardous.

sawfrom shippingcontainerandcheckfor damage.Report any damage
to your distributor
immediately. Accessoriesandrailswereshipped
in separatecartons. Clean
protectivecoatingfrom
the table,extensionsand fence. Readthe instruction manualthoroughly for assembly,
aliglment,
maintenanceand safetyinstructions.
INSTALLATION:
Mounr machineon asolid foundation andlagto the floor through the four lagscrewholes
provided
in the machine
base. Mount tableextensions,
levelingthem to the tableusingastraightedge
sothat
they form a flat planewith the tabletop. Install the front (graduated)
andrearrailswith the hard-
wareprovided. Slidethe fenceandcarriageassembly
on the mounting rails. Mount the splitter and
guardassembly. Install the miter gauge
in its left-handslot.
MITER SLOTALIGNMENT:
To check the alignmentof the miter slot to the blade,raisethe bladeat its 0o (90o) position to its
maximum height. Mark onetooth with agrease
penciland position the tooth slighdy above
the top
edge
of the table at the front. Raisethe miter gaugebar slightly out of its slot to serveas
a shoulder.
Usinga combination squareagainstthe side
of the bar,slidethe scaleoveruntil it touches the tip of
the bladeandlock in pbsition (Fig. 8). Rotate the markedtooth sothat it isslightly above
the table
top at the rearandusingthe squareas
in front, checkwhetherthe distanceto the bladeis the same.
Itit isnot, loosen the three (3) mounting screwsthat lock the tableto the cabinetandmovethe table
to bring the miter slot in line with the blade. The bladeshouldbekept centered
with the slot in the
tableinsertto insureclearanceat both the 90o and45o positions. After aligning,
lock the table to
the cabinetby retighteningthe threemounting screws.

In aligningthe fence,
the first stepisto adjustthe clamps. Usingthe lower clamp handle,
checkwhether
it locks the fencesolidly in front. If it doesnot, adjustthe locking action with the adjustingscrewas

clamp the rearof the fencewith the upper locking han-
dle. Adjust asreqriiredby using
the adjustingscrew
shownin Fig. 10 to obtain agoodClampingaction.

and rotate the motor and bracket to the left as
far as possible. Removeonebelt at a time. After

of the teeth at the top facetoward-the front of the saw. Slidethe collar on the
arbor and
start the arbor nut on the threadi. Snug
the arbornut against
the collar-

bladeusing
rhewrench and holding the saw
baldewith the th-umb
andfinger iips. Wedge
a block of wood be-
tween rhesaw
