How it Works
We’ve designed the Easy Walk™Cat Harness & Lead to help enrich your
cat’s life with the sights, sounds and smells of a safe outdoor experience.
It allows you to share enjoyable walks, exercise, and playtime outside
your home. More quality time together leads to a deeper, more fulfilling
relationship for both you and your cat!
The Easy Walk™Cat Harness & Lead gives you gentle, comfortable control
of your cat or kitten, while allowing her to explore the world outside your
door. The patent pending design allows for a gentle pressure on the lead
to cradle your cat, thus, restraining any forward motion without putting
pressure on the delicate throat area. The cradling effect is calming to most
cats, providing safe and easy control for you. The adjustable sternum slide
allows you to create a custom fit for your cat’s body type, while the dual
adjustment points on the girth strap allow a snug, safe fit. The shoulder
straps glide through the two D-rings on the back, allowing an increase
of tension (when needed) to restrain your cat without choking. The lead
provides a little extra “give” to soften the effect of kitty reaching the end
of the lead.

Before You Begin
This will be a learning process for your cat, as you help her accept the
harness and learn to walk with the lead. Kittens will adjust most easily to
the sensation of the harness. An older cat may require more time to get
used to the feeling of her “new clothes.” It may be best to divide the tting
and acclimation process into several short sessions to keep the encounter
positive. Try to end each session on a pleasant note, and remove the
harness when your cat is calm. If you sense your cat’s reaction is on the
verge of escalating, do not prolong the session, as it may make the next
one more difcult!
•If your cat is sensitive to handling or becomes anxious when
encountering new things, use treats, food, petting, brushing, or a
favorite toy to make the fitting experience a pleasant one.
•Choose a quiet time and a quiet room indoors without distractions for
either you or your cat.
•Reassure kitty with a calm voice and gentle petting in areas that she likes.
•Do not scold or yell, do not force, and never hit your cat. Your cat must
feel safe in the situation or she will be unable to learn from the experience.
•Schedule whatever kitty enjoys – mealtime, playtime, petting and
brushing, or catnip fests – to happen when she is wearing the harness.
This helps her associate the harness with good things!
Properly fitted, the harness will be very comfortable and safe
for your cat. Remember that any new clothing or equipment –
shoes, eyeglasses, contacts, or braces – may feel unusual at
first, but we acclimate to them in a short period of time. Do not
let an initial reaction from your cat discourage you. Keep in
mind the long-term goal of enriching your cat’s life by giving
her broader daily experiences.

Fitting the Harness
The girth strap consists of one color of nylon, with two quick-snap buckles
and slide adjustments for a snug fit. The contrasting color comprises the
shoulder piece and lead attachment, and feeds through the unique sternum
slide hardware.

Using the Harness
We recommend you acclimate your cat to the harness indoors – with lots
of praise, petting, and play – before going outside. Use a gentle increase
of tension to encourage your cat not to strain against the lead. Apply
tension if your cat pulls away from you. Release tension when she is calm.
Your goal is to walk without tension, using a loose lead. Give rewards of
treats, toys, or petting when your cat walks calmly or remains at your side.
Never jerk or yank on the lead. Praise your cat for calm interactions and
ignore unwanted behaviours.
The acclimation process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few
days, or sometimes longer. But before too long, your kitty will almost
certainly find that the opportunity for a stroll outside is very rewarding
indeed! Bear in mind that for some cats who have rarely been outdoors,
the experience might be a bit overwhelming at first. Allow her time to
move slowly, to look around, and to feel safe. Rather than drag her in a
specific direction, allow her the chance to explore at her own pace. In the
beginning, brief trips outdoors may be best.
You may want to begin near your house door or along a hedge or planted
area, rather than in the middle of an open yard. Your cat will likely feel
more comfortable and less “exposed” if she feels there is safe shelter
nearby. If she insists on trying to duck into or under things, gently guide
her or pick her up, move her a short distance away, and remember to offer
rewards. If your cat is feeling stressed, she’s unlikely to prefer treats, so use
petting, feather toys, string to chase, etc.
Once your cat is comfortable with the harness and lead and you have had
successful outdoor time, you may choose to use a longer lead (3 m - 4.5 m
light, flat lead) to allow your cat a greater range within a safe area.
(Imagine a lovely picnic on the lawn with your kitty able to explore a wide
circle around you.)
General Training Tips
Cats have an undeserved reputation for being difficult to train. Two factors
play into this:

1) Because most people make this assumption, they make little or no effort
to train or socialize their cats. When someone gets a new puppy, they
usually can’t wait to take him out and about to introduce him to all the
wonders of the world. However, when people get a new kitten, most do
not even consider giving her the same opportunities.
2) Unfortunately, most people are unaware that kittens have an earlier
“easy learning window” than puppies and miss out on this wonderful
growth stage. The truth is that most cats are not given enough novel
experiences and learning opportunities in kittenhood to prepare them to
respond happily to new experiences and interactions with humans. This
can result in adult cats who are frightened, confused or de-motivated by
new things. Unfortunately, those cats often remain housebound.
Kittens learn about social interactions and form opinions about their world
very early. Age 3 to 8 weeks is the optimal time for kittens to develop
social skills with other cats and people. Gentle handling by a variety of
people, including children, brushing and tender examination of body parts
are all very beneficial.
From 9 to 16 weeks, your kitten continues to learn how to interact with her
world. Social play is very important in this stage. It’s also the right time to
give your kitten numerous chances to experience safe, new places and fun
experiences. These good encounters literally create “learning pathways”
in the brain, which ensures that your cat will continue to easily accept new
things in the future.
Starting at 6 to 8 weeks, and continuing through 16 weeks of age is the
perfect time to introduce your kitten to outdoor fun using the Easy Walk™
Cat Harness & Lead. If your cat is in this age range, congratulations!
If your cat is older, do not despair! In fact, many cats do not join their new
families until they are well past kitten hood. After 4 months of age, your
cat can still learn to truly enjoy new experiences, but the process usually
requires a little more patience. It’s important that the entire procedure
includes happy associations with things that your cat loves or enjoys in order
to be most successful. With a little bit of planning, you can introduce your
cat to a wonderful variety of safe and pleasant experiences – and the Easy
Walk™Cat Harness & Lead will make it easy and fun for both of you.

recommends that this Product is not used if your pet is aggressive and
accepts no liability for determining suitability in individual cases. If
you are unsure whether this Product is appropriate for your pet, please
consult your veterinarian or certied trainer prior to use. Proper use
includes, without limitation, reviewing the entire Fitting Guide and any
specic Caution statements.
3. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
This Product is designed for use with pets only. This pet training device is
not intended to harm, injure or provoke. Using this Product in a way that
is not intended could result in violation of Federal, State or local laws.
4. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Premier®or any of its associated companies be liable
for (i) any indirect, punitive, incidental, special or consequential damage
and/or (ii) any loss or damages whatsoever arising out of or connected

Fonctionnement du harnais
Nous avons conçu le harnais et la laisse pour chat Easy Walk™afin de
vous aider à enrichir la vie de votre chat en lui permettant de profiter en
toute sécurité des images, des sons et des odeurs accessibles lors d'une
sortie à l'extérieur. Ils vous permettent de partager d'agréables moments
de promenade, d'exercices et de jeux à l'extérieur. Le fait de passer
plus de temps de qualité ensemble aboutit à une relation plus forte et
enrichissante pour vous et votre chat !
Le harnais et la laisse pour chat Easy Walk™vous offrent la possibilité
de contrôler votre chat ou chaton en douceur et sans risque, tout en lui
permettant d'explorer le monde extérieur. Le design, avec brevet déposé,
permet par une légère tension sur la laisse de tenir délicatement votre chat,
empêchant ainsi tout mouvement vers l'avant sans exercer de pression sur la
zone délicate du cou. Cette légère tension a pour effet de calmer la plupart
des chats et vous permet de le contrôler facilement et sans risque. La sangle
sternale vous garantit un ajustement sur mesure, alors que les deux points
de réglage sur la sangle de poitrail permettent un ajustement parfait en
toute sécurité. Les sangles d'épaule se glissent dans les deux anneaux en D
situés sur le dos et permettent d'augmenter la tension (si besoin) pour retenir
votre chat sans l'étouffer. La laisse donne un peu de jeu supplémentaire
pour adoucir l'effet lorsque le chat arrive à la fin de la laisse.

Avant de commencer
Un processus d'apprentissage va se mettre en place à mesure que vous
aiderez votre chat à accepter le harnais et à apprendre à marcher avec
la laisse. Les chatons s'adapteront plus facilement au port du harnais. Un
chat plus âgé aura besoin de plus de temps pour s'habituer au sentiment
de porter « quelque chose de nouveau ». Il peut s'avérer préférable
d'étaler les phases d'ajustement et d'acclimatation sur plusieurs séances
courtes an que l'expérience reste positive. Essayez de terminer chaque
séance sur une note agréable et enlevez le harnais lorsque le chat est
calme. Si vous avez l'impression que la réaction du chat est sur le point de
s'aggraver, ne prolongez pas la séance, car cela peut rendre la suivante
plus difcile !
•Si votre chat est sensible à la manipulation ou devient inquiet lorsqu'il
rencontre des choses nouvelles, utilisez des friandises, de la nourriture, des
caresses, un brossage ou son jouet favori pour rendre l'ajustement agréable.
•Choisissez un moment et un endroit calmes à l'intérieur sans distractions
pour vous ou votre chat.
•Rassurez votre chat avec une voix calme et des caresses là où il les aime.
•Ne grondez pas votre chat, ne criez pas, ne forcez pas, et ne le tapez
jamais. Votre chat doit se sentir en sécurité dans cette situation, sinon il
ne pourra pas apprendre de cette expérience.
•Prévoyez une activité que votre chat affectionne lorsqu'il porte le harnais
(période de repas, jeux, caresses et brossage, ou festin d'herbe à chat).
Ceci l'aidera à associer le harnais à des choses agréables.
Lorsqu'il est bien ajusté, le harnais est très confortable
et sûr pour votre chat. Souvenez-vous que tout habit ou
équipement nouveau (chaussures, lunettes, lentilles ou
bagues) peut sembler inhabituel au départ, mais nous nous
y habituons en un laps de temps réduit. Ne vous laissez pas
décourager par la réaction initale de votre chat. Gardez à
l'esprit l'objectif à long terme d'enrichir la vie de votre chat
en lui apportant davantage d'expériences quotidiennes.

Caractéristiques
•Le harnais et la laisse pour chat Easy Walk™est doté de deux boucles à
fermeture rapide sur les sangles latérales et du poitrail pour faciliter la
pose et le retrait du harnais.
