MPORTANT PRECAUT ONS
1. Before beginning any exercise program,
consult your physician. This is especially
important for persons over the age of 35 or
persons with pre-existing health problems.
2. t is the responsibility of the owner to ensure
that all users of the exercise cycle are ade-
quately informed of all precautions.
3. The exercise cycle is intended for home use
only. Do not use the exercise cycle in a com-
mercial, rental, or institutional setting.
4. Keep the exercise cycle indoors, away from
moisture and dust. Place the exercise cycle
on a level surface, with a mat beneath it to
protect the floor or carpet. Make sure that
there is enough clearance around the exer-
cise cycle to mount, dismount, and use it.
5. nspect and properly tighten all parts regular-
ly. Replace any worn parts immediately.
6. Keep children under age 12 and pets away
from the exercise cycle at all times.
7. The exercise cycle should not be used by
persons weighing more than 250 lbs.
(113 kg).
8. Wear appropriate exercise clothes while
exercising; do not wear loose clothes that
could become caught on the exercise cycle.
Always wear athletic shoes for foot protec-
tion while exercising.
9. When adjusting the height of the seat, insert
the seat post knob into one of the holes in
the seat post; do not insert the seat post
knob under the seat post.
10. The pulse sensor is not a medical device.
Various factors, including the user's move-
ment, may affect the accuracy of heart rate
readings. The pulse sensor is intended only
as an exercise aid in determining heart rate
trends in general.
11. Keep your back straight while using the exer-
cise cycle; do not arch your back.
12. When you stop exercising, allow the pedals
to slowly come to a stop.
13. f you feel pain or dizziness while exercising,
stop immediately and cool down.
14. Use the exercise cycle only as described in
this manual.

Congratulations for selecting the new PROFORM®700
exercise cycle. Cycling is one of the most effective
exercises for increasing cardiovascular fitness, build-
ing endurance, and toning the body. The 700 exercise
cycle offers a selection of features designed to let you
enjoy this healthful exercise in the convenience and
privacy of your home.
For your benefit, read this manual carefully before
you use the exercise cycle. If you have questions
after reading this manual, please see the front cover
of this manual. To help us assist you, note the product
model number and serial number before contacting
us. The model number and the location of the serial
number decal are shown on the front cover of this
manual.
Before reading further, please familiarize yourself with
the parts that are labeled in the drawing below.

ASSEMBLY
Assembly requires two persons. Place all parts of the exercise cycle in a cleared area and remove the pack-
ing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
n addition to the included tools, assembly requires an adjustable wrench and a Phillips
screwdriver .
Use the part drawings below to identify the small parts used in assembly. The number in parentheses below
each drawing refers to the key number of the part, from the PART LIST near the end of this manual. The number
following the parentheses is the quantity needed for assembly. Note: Some small parts may have been pre-
assembled. f a part is not in the hardware kit, check to see if it has been preassembled.

Insert the Rear Stabilizer (6) into the Frame (1).
Attach the Rear Stabilizer with four M8 x 60mm
Button Screws (30).

2. Orient the Front Stabilizer (2) so that the large
holes are facing the Frame (1).
Attach the Front Stabilizer (2) to the Frame (1)
with two M8 x 73mm Button Screws (33).

3. Attach the Left and Right Frame Covers (19, 3)
around the Frame (1) with an M4 x 15mm
Round Head Screw (58) and two M5 x 15mm
Round Head Screws (59).

4. Attach the Seat (12) to the Seat Carriage (29)
with four M8 Split Washers (42) and four M8
Locknuts (10). Note: The Split Washers and
the Locknuts may be preattached to the
underside of the Seat.
Set the Seat Carriage (29) in the bracket on the
Seat Post (5). Next, insert the Seat nob (56)
upward through the bracket on the Seat Post
into the hole in the Seat Block (44). Then, tight-
en the Seat nob. Make sure the Seat Knob
is engaged in the hole in the Seat Block.

6. While another person holds the Upright (13)
near the Frame (1), connect the Extension Wire
(23) to the Reed Switch Wire (39). Then, insert
the excess wire downward into the Frame.
Insert the Upright (13) into the Frame (1).
Tip: Avoid pinching the wires. Attach the
Upright (13) with three M8 x 15mm Button
Screws (34) and three M8 Split Washers (42). Avoid pinching

5. Loosen and remove the Seat Post nob (9)
from the Frame (1).
Insert the Seat Post (5) into the Frame (1).
Adjust the Seat Post to the desired height and
insert the Seat Post nob through the indicated
hole in the Frame into one of the adjustment
holes in the Seat Post. Then, tighten the Seat
Post nob. Make sure the Seat Post Knob is
firmly engaged in one of the adjustment
holes in the Seat Post.

7. The Console (16) can use four AA batteries (not
included); alkaline batteries are recommended.
MPORTANT: f the Console has been
exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to
warm to room temperature before inserting
batteries. Otherwise, you may damage the
console displays or other electronic compo-
nents. Remove the battery cover, insert the bat-
teries into the battery compartment, and reat-
tach the battery cover. Make sure to orient the
batteries as shown by the diagram inside
the battery compartment.

8. Attach the Pivot Bracket (53) to the Upright (13)
with the Pivot Clamp (54) and the Pivot Handle
(55).
Note: The Pivot Handle (55) functions like a
ratchet. Turn the Pivot Handle clockwise, pull it
away from the Upright (13), turn it counterclock-
wise, push it toward the Upright, and then turn it
clockwise again. Repeat this process until the
Pivot Handle is tight.
While a second person holds the Console (16)
near the Upright (13), insert the console wire
through the Pivot Bracket (53) and connect it to
the Extension Wire (23). Then, insert the
excess wire downward into the Upright.
Tip: Avoid pinching the wires. Attach the
Console (16) to the Pivot Bracket (53) with four
M6 x 15mm Button Screws (46).

9. Attach the Left and Right Pivot Covers (50, 51)
around the Upright (13) with an M4 x 15mm
Round Head Screw (58) and two M5 x 15mm
Round Head Screws (59).

11. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the exercise cycle. Note: After assembly is
completed, some extra parts may be left over. Place a mat beneath the exercise cycle to protect the floor.
10. Identify the Left Pedal (24), which is marked
with an “L.” Using an adjustable wrench, firmly
tighten the Left Pedal counterclockwise into the
left arm of the Crank (21).
Tighten the Right Pedal (not shown) clockwise
into the right arm of the Crank (not shown).
MPORTANT: Tighten both pedals as firmly
as possible. After using the exercise cycle
for one week, retighten the pedals. For best
performance, keep the pedals tightened.
Adjust the strap on the Left Pedal (24) to the
desired position, and press the end of the strap
onto the tab on the side of the Left Pedal.

in the same way.
