2Security
2.1 Correct user
Before starting the training, the user should warm up on a bicycle ergometer, for example, and prepare
the corresponding muscles for the load with subsequent stretching exercises.
If symptoms occur, discontinue the exercise and consult a doctor if necessary.
The equipment enables the client to do a concentric/concentric training and thus avoid high eccentric
loads. The movement should be performed slowly and in a controlled manner, paying attention to the
correct execution of the movement. The intensity of the load should be light at the beginning of the
training. The load can then be gradually increased in order to avoid overloading, which can lead to
problems and pain for the clients/users.
Fast-impact exercises in which the movement is explosive are to be avoided. Controlled
movement must always be ensured in order to avoid strain and injury.
Different training methods are used. If training is done according to the repetition method, several
exercise series are carried out with appropriate breaks. The intensity of the load depends on the load
capacity of the muscular structures in which the client is located, as well as the training goal.
Here, the initial focus can be on adaption and accommondation the injured structure (connective tissue,
cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joint capsule) to a weight load with low training intensity before
training special strength skills - such as strength endurance or maximum strength - with increasing
intensity.
2.2 Correct use Location
Note that the load-bearing capacity of the substrate must be appropriate for the weight of the
equipment.
Use the units only in dry and seawater air free rooms (<65% humidity) and avoid temperatures below 5
degrees and above 45 degrees Celsius .

2.3 Prohibited use
•Incorrect exercise execution as well as over-exercising can lead to anything from serious injury
to death.
•The training must be stopped immediately if the user feels faint or dizzy. A doctor should also
be contacted.
•Overloading of the test person must be avoided.
•The unit is to be operated by trained staff only.
•All information to be found in the instructions for use must be followed.
•The appliance must not be used contrary to its intended use.
•If one or more of the above contraindications are present, please do not use the device.
•Permanent monitoring of the exerciser by medical staff is necessary as soon as relative
contraindications are present.
•No user of the device may be under the influence of alcohol, drugs or narcotics.
•Make sure that aids, accessories, cables etc. are not within the range of motion.
2.4 General warnings
•The training equipment may only be used in areas where access and supervision are specifically
regulated by the owner. The extent of supervision is dependent on the users, namely their level
of reliability, age, experience, etc. The training equipment may only be used under the
supervision of authorized specialist personnel (e.g. qualified sports instructor, physiotherapist)
or after comprehensive instruction by appropriate personnel.
•The use of additional resistances (attachment of weights, manipulation of the hydraulics), of
whatever type, beyond that provided for by the manufacturer is not permitted and will result in
the loss of warranty and guarantee claims.
•Children are not allowed to be unsupervised near or use the equipment.
•During training, nobody should be near the moving parts (hydraulics, guides, etc.). A safety
distance (free space) of at least 1.3 meters should be ensured for persons and objects in order
to eliminate any risk of injury from swinging parts (especially to be observed with the left and
right hip extension). The left and right hip extension machines should be positioned directly in
front of a wall at a sufficient distance to perform the exercise.
•Only use the appliance for its intended purpose as described in section 4.

•In the event of any fault symptoms, the equipment must be left immediately and shut down.
This must be clearly marked on the equipment by the operator in order to avoid unauthorized
training on defective equipment. The fault should be recognized and rectified. If necessary, the
manufacturer/service should be informed or consulted.
•Damage that could impair the function or cause injury must be repaired, otherwise no liability
will be accepted.
•Do not put your hands between the moving parts.
•No adjustment devices that could hinder the exerciser's movement may protrude from the
equipment. Dangerous points on the equipment are marked as follows:

2.5 Safety instructions
•It must be ensured, especially when changing the position of the unit without dismantling it,
that it stands securely on level ground.
•Existing protective housings must not be dismantled
•The warranty becomes void if modifications are made to the unit or electronic devices for control
and measurement are fitted that have not been carried out by specialist staffauthorized by the
manufacturer.
•Defective parts of the unit must be replaced immediately - in this case, it is advisable to stop
using the unit until they have been repaired. Only use original accessories, otherwise no liability
will be accepted.
•Note that the load-bearing capacity of the surface must be in accordance with the weight of the
equipment in combination with the maximum user weight (200 kg).

If modifications by the manufacturer require a change, this will be indicated by the manufacturer with a
new version number.
Product modifications
Modifications to products may generally only be carried out using original parts from the manufacturer
and by authorized specialist personnel.
Subsequent changes to the instructions for use due to modifications must be inserted in the instructions
for use by the operator at the specified place.
Any modifications not carried out by authorized specialist personnel will invalidate the guarantee. This
includes, in particular, increasing the resistance, of any kind, beyond the level preset by the manufacturer.
Declaration of conformity
We will gladly send you the declaration of conformity of the respective unit on request.
Importance of the instructions for use
The instruction manual is part of the product you have purchased and must be kept during its service
life.
The instruction must be passed on to any subsequent German-speaking owner or user. For subsequent
owners with other national languages, please request separate instructions for use.
The user must ensure that any supplement received is inserted into the instruction, if applicable.
The above points are also valid for accessories. If the instruction is lost, it can be reordered from the
manufacturer against payment by written order request.
In the case of the contraindications mentioned below, training on the training equipment considered
here should be ruled out.

3.1 Description
The compass®210 product line comprises nine training devices for strength and strength-endurance
training and is specially designed for using in fitness and prevention facilities. The hydraulic resistance
system built into the compass®210 allows comprehensive concentric training of the most diverse parts
of the skeletal muscles in both directions of movement, depending on the device.
The resistance of the training can be setup individually in each direction of movement. The patented
self-stabilization concept of the compass®210 additionally allows a functional training position and
ensures a higher total energy requirement through its increased activation of the core muscles.
The training equipment is designed for persons with a maximum body weight of 200 kg and a maximum
body height of 200 cm. The individual equipment-specific areas of application are described in the
intended use in chapter 0In any case, the equipment should only be used under the instruction of a
qualified trainer who is familiar with the use of the equipment. The compass®210 is particularly suitable
for the area of circuit training in circular form.

3.2 compass®210 Ab-/Adduction
On this device, all muscle groups that perform the spreading and pulling of the leg towards the body
are effectively trained. These muscle groups have stabilizingstabilizing functions for the pelvis and hip
area as well as for the knee joint.
Specific patient positioning
Fix the back stably to the backrest. With the knee joints bent, position the thighs in the pad shells; the
lower legs are supported by corresponding pads. Raise the upper body by active stabilization at the
hand grips. Tighten the toes of the feet for self-stabilization of the legs.
Open (spread outwards) and close (tighten inwards) the legs - depending on individual mobility. The
movement is initiated by applying pressure exclusively to the thigh pads. The lower leg pads only serve
to support the legs and deliberately do not provide an abutment for the application of force.
If you have hip problems, perform both phases of movement slowly and carefully. Perform movements
only to the extent that there are no compensatory movements in the hip or back area.

3.3 compass®210 Pulldown/Shoulder Press
On the one hand, this device can be used to train the shoulder blade-fixing muscles, which are

Perform push movement only so far that arms are not fully extended. Perform the pull movement until
the upper arms are approximately parallel to the upper body. Perform the movement on both sides
with equal effort.
Depending on the mobility of the shoulder joint, choose a slightly more forward or backward grip
position. Perform the push movement only to the extent that there are no compensatory movements
in the shoulder or back area. Always keep the wrists in extension of the forearm. Generally training
should be only in the pain-free area, if necessary limit the range of motion.

3.4 compass®210 Chest Press/Rowing
On this machine, all dorsal muscle groups of the shoulder girdle, the arm flexor muscles and the back
muscles in the area of the thoracic spine are trained during the rowing movement, which ensure that
the spine is straightened.
When performing the chest press movement, the chest and arm extension muscles are trained.
Specific patient positioning
Adjust the saddle seat according to body height so that a semi-standing sitting position is achieved.
Place the feet symmetrically using the ground marks.
Straighten and actively stabilize the upper body by stabilizing over the feet and by tensing the back and
abdominal muscles. Firmly grasp the handles at chest level.
Move the arms back and forth in a harmonious movement. In the push phase do not push the elbows
through completely. Keep the elbows parallel to the side of the body (or slightly raised as a variation).
Ensure that the shoulders remain in a neutral position throughout the movement. To stabilize the
shoulder girdle, pull the shoulder blades back and down by actively using the muscles. If necessary,
reduce the range of motion in the pulling phase or change the placement of the hands.

3.5 compass®210 Chest Press/Rowing Vertical
On this machine, the dorsal muscle groups of the shoulder girdle, the arm flexor muscles and the
posture-stabilizing back muscles in the area of the thoracic and lumbar spine are trained in particular
during the upward rowing movement.
When performing the downward chest press movement, the chest and arm extension muscles as well as
stabilizing muscles of the shoulder girdle are trained in particular.
Specific patient positioning
Adjust the saddle seat according to body height so that a semi-standing sitting position is achieved.
Place the feet symmetrically using the ground marks. Tilt the upper body slightly forward with the back
straight and grasp the handles symmetrically with firm wrists. Actively stabilize this body position by
consciously tensing the back and abdominal muscles.
Move the arms back and forth in harmonious bending and press movements. In the push phase do not
push the elbows through completely. Depending on the grip position, move the elbows sideways parallel
to the body or slightly raised.
Make sure that the head and upper body form a line in a forward-leaning position (forward-downward
line of vision). Avoid head movements and compensatory movements. The shoulders remain in a neutral
position during the entire movement. To stabilize the shoulder girdle, pull the shoulder blades back and
down using active muscles. If necessary, reduce the range of motion in the pulling phase.

3.6 compass®210 Trunk Extension/ Flexion
This device trains both the dorsal and ventral trunk muscles.
Specific patient positioning
Adjust the saddle seat according to body height so that a semi-standing sitting position is achieved.
Place the feet symmetrically using the ground marks. Position forearms symmetrically and stably on or
against the upholstered wheels. Use hand grips as needed to facilitate control (not a requirement!).
Stabilize the upper body and shoulder girdle by actively tensing the core muscles.
Initially tense the abdominal muscles before the flexion phase. Under abdominal tension, introduce the
force via the forearm pads and roll the upper body segmentally with the flexion. In the push phase
extends the upper body with pressure against the roller.
Head control: In the flexion phase, bring the chin slightly towards the chest and "roll" the upper body.
With the push phase the head can be straightened in a controlled way up to the extension of the back.
Perform flexion phase only so far that no hip flexion takes place. Stretch to a maximum of the natural
lumbar lordosis. Always perform movements in a controlled manner, without any swinging movement.
Exhalation coincides with the pull phase. If you have problems in the lumbar spine, exercise very carefully
and slowly.

Select the seat height so that the shoulders can be comfortably held in a neutral position. Avoid swinging
movements in the inversion points.

3.8 compass®210 Hip Extension left
This machine trains the entire left hip extensor musculature.
Specific patient positioning
Place forearms symmetrically on the pad. Grasp the handles if necessary. Bend the standing leg slightly
and align the foot parallel to the ground mark. Place the foot of the free leg on the movable step
surface so that the tip of the foot is flush with the edge. The torso leaning forward is straight. Actively
stabilize this position by tensing the abdominal and back muscles.
Initiate the movement through the pressure of the sole of the foot and press the leg increasingly, but
not completely. Then return the leg slowly and in a controlled manner to the starting position. The start
of the movement is in front of the standing leg (if there is sufficient mobility).
Avoid knee joint deflection (straight line of movement). Take special care that the pelvis does not deviate
downwards (hollow back) or to the side (sinking, twisting). Make sure that the right leg does not extend
beyond the central mark line into the range of motion of the left leg.

3.9 compass®210 Hip Extension right
This machine trains the entire right hip extensor musculature.
Specific patient positioning
Place forearms symmetrically on the pad. Grasp the handles if necessary. Bend the standing leg slightly
and align the foot parallel to the ground mark. Place the foot of the free leg on the movable step surface
so that the tip of the foot is flush with the edge. The upper body, leaning forward, is straight. Actively
stabilize this position by tensing the abdominal and back muscles.
Initiate the movement through the pressure of the sole of the foot and press the leg increasingly, but
not completely. Then return the leg slowly and in a controlled manner to the starting position. The start
of the movement is in front of the standing leg (if there is sufficient mobility).
Avoid knee joint deflection (straight line of movement). Take special care that the pelvis does not deviate
downwards (hollow back) or to the side (sinking, twisting). Make sure that the left leg does not protrude
beyond the central mark line into the range of motion of the right leg.
