1General
You have decided to purchase one of our tergumed®710 sequence training machines.
We thank you for the trust you have shown us.
tergumed®710 weight training machines are constructed considering recognised
biomechanical knowledge, as well as anatomical and physiological considerations and
are used for the rehabilitation training of the trunk muscles.
The effectiveness of the machine is proven through scientific studies. A summary of the
studies can be provided upon request.
The devices have undergone technical safety checks, to prevent possible injury.
To ensure careful, safe and proper use read this User Manual with all safety instructions
and warnings before using this training machine for the first time.
Important notes, warnings and hazards are marked in the manual with an indicator on
the left hand side.
These tips contain important information and hints to improve operation.
1.1 Identification of the User Manual
•The version is specified on the last page.
•If due to modifications a revision by the manufacturer is required, this is implemented by the manufacturer
and identified with a new version number.
•The machines are equipped with the proxomed SmartPanel. There is a detailed separate User Manual for
the proxomed SmartPanel.
1.2 Importance of the User Manual
The User Manual is a part of the product purchase and should be kept and updated for the lifetime of the
equipment.
The Manual should be passed on to future English speaking owners of the machine. For subsequent owners with
other language please request separate operating instructions.
The user has to ensure that any necessary supplements received are placed into the Manual.
The points mentioned above are also valid for any accessories. In the event of loss of the Manual, another can be
ordered for a fee from the manufacturer at any time upon written request.

1.3 Classification
According to the Medical Product Law (in German MPG) the tergumed®710 machine is a Class 1 medical device
with a measurement function.
The machines are compliant with the requirements of EN ISO 20957-1 / ISO 20957-2-class S (= Studio) or I (=
Rehab) and are intended for use in industrial facilities. Compliance with the Directive 93/42 EEC annex V for medical
machines is regularly monitored by the TÜV SÜD Product Service according to ISO 13485 Medical Devices - Quality
Management Systems. Each machine is uniquely identified by a corresponding type plate.
Note:
The machines are subject to an annual technical safety check (TSC) and every two years a technical
measurement check (TMC).
The tergumed®710 frame assemblies consist of welded steel structures and are coated with a high-quality powder
coating to protect against moisture and perspiration and are thus also protected from rust. Finally, the machines are
completely assembled in the Assembly Department and equipped with high-quality measurement and tested
according to defined criteria.
Through the use of ground rods, guides made from plastic and special ball bearings, the machines are largely
maintenance-free. There is however some maintenance necessary, please refer to information in section 8 of this
User Manual.

3Safety information
3.1 Symbol
Type plate: The type plate is located on the main switch. In the type
plate, you can find the serial number, manufacturing date, address and
electrical connection values

3.2 Secure installation of the machine
•The installation of this machine should be carried out directly by
the manufacturer or by a proxomed® authorised service
technician. Only then can safe and proper functionality be
guaranteed. For queries, please contact the proxomed® service
under the contact option given in Chapter 14.
•Install the machine only in dry areas (< 65% relative humidity).
•The machine must be on a flat impact-resistant surface that can
withstand the weight of the machine as well as the maximum
allowable weight of a person, altogether 180 kg.
•The machine has legs that can be customised to your height to
compensate for uneven surfaces. An important prerequisite for the
proper functioning of the machine is the orientation with a spirit
level.
•When changing the location of the machine make sure that the
machine is not pulled or pushed on the SmartPanel mounts or the
adjustment mechanism, which will cause damage.
•The area around the machine must be at least 1 metre larger that
the movement range of the machine, to ensure that the machine
can be approached and egressed from safely also in the event of
an emergency. However, the safety areas can overlap; see
illustration.

3.3 Safe operation of the machine
•The correct function of the machine is guaranteed when the ambient temperature is in the range of 18 -
22° Celsius (before the first time use after setting up, allow the machine to acclimatise for at least 24 hours
at the specified ambient temperature).
•WARNING! To avoid the risk of electric shock, this appliance may only be connected to a mains supply
with a protective earth conductor.
•Always connect the machine directly to the mains socket. DO NOT use extension cables or multi distribution
sockets.
•When connecting an external machine to a training machine of the tergumed®710 line, galvanically
isolated connecting cables are required. The machine itself has a medical LAN insulator for electrical
isolation of the network connection.
•The machine may only be operated with mounted protective covers.
•The warranty is void if changes are made to the machine or if electronic controllers and measuring
machines are added that are not installed by authorised specialists of the manufacturer.
•These training machines are only allowed to be used when the access and supervision is specially regulated
by the owner. The extent of supervision depends on the users, specifically on their degree of reliability, their
age and experience, etc. The training machines are only allowed to be used when supervised by authorised
specialist staff (e.g. graduate sports teacher, physical therapist) or after extensive instruction through
appropriate staff.
•The person training should always keep an eye on the weight stack during the complete exercise to prevent
harm to third persons.
•No settings may be made when under load. Before adjustment, make sure that there is no load due to a
raised weight block. This can affect the long-term functioning of the components.
•The brackets of the SmartPanel are not suitable to use as a support, or to pull on (when getting off the
machine). This leads to damage to the arms.
•Handicapped persons, children, or persons with cardiovascular complaints should not train without
supervision.
•Children are not allowed to use or to stay near the machine without supervision.
•During the training, nobody should be near moving parts, (weight block, guide slides, etc.). A safety
distance around the machine (free space) of 1.3 metres should be ensured for persons and objects, to
eliminate every risk of injury due to parts swinging out.
•The machine should only be used as intended under observation of the described indicators and contra-
indicators.
•With even the slightest hint of a fault, the machine should be shut down and immediately left. The fault
should be diagnosed and repaired. If necessary, inform or consult the manufacturer or service.
•Damage that reduces the functionality or that could lead to injuries should be repaired otherwise liability is
excluded.
•Do not grab between moving bearings or rollers with your hands.
•When training, avoid using machines that cause electromagnetic radiation (e.g. cell phones, radio antennas,
etc.).
3.4 Safe training
•Before starting training, the training fitness should be checked by an authorised person such as a doctor.
Please note the contra-indicators listed in Chapter 3.4.
•Please note that excessive training can be harmful.
•Stop the training immediately if the patient feels unwell. If there is a feeling of nausea of dizziness seek
additional medical help.
•Training with patients should only take place under the supervision and instruction of Therapists.
•Training on the machine is only allowed when the skin is not damaged.
•When training close-fitting, lightweight sports clothing is to be preferred that cannot be caught in parts of
the machine.
•Before you start any exercise, make sure that all locking pins on the adjustable parts of the relevant training
machine are completely latched and tightened. Do not pull any of the locking pins during the course of any
exercise.

•Check the machine before starting training that it is secure; there are no defective parts and no signs of
other manipulation. If you notice any deficiencies or are not sure, ask the supervisor before you start
training.
•Before every training, make sure of the correct biomechanical positioning with reference to the pivot point,
the joint adjustment, the movement, etc., and also ensure that the adjustment mechanism is correctly
latched. No part of the adjustment mechanism should protrude.
•Be very careful when making any adjustments to the machine. Read the corresponding section of the User
Manual.
3.5 Indications and contra-indicators
3.5.1 Indicators
•Spinal column syndrome with significant symptoms:
•Proven slipped disc (also after surgery) and considerable protrusions beyond the acute stage
•Proven degenerative changes
•Proven spondylolysis and spondylolisthesis
•Spinal column injuries within the framework of conservative and postoperative treatment
•For recurrent disc complaints with significantly reduced capacity for work
•Proven scoliosis and amplified spinal deformities
3.5.2 Relative contra-indicators
•Tumour disease
•Inadequately medically controlled hypertension
•Stress labile coronary heart disease (CHD)
•Relative cardiac insufficiency
•Short interval phases of rheumatism
•Osteoporosis with a bone density up to 80% of the age average
•Slipped discs and protrusions up to 3 months without any surgical indications
•Glaucoma
•Diabetes
•Unstable Mental Health
3.5.3 Mandatory contra-indicators
•New fractures (up to 4 months)
•Acute results found through surgery
•Condition after abdominal surgery (up to 4 months)
•Condition after gynaecological surgery (up to 4 months)

4Correct Usage
4.1 Introduction
The product line tergumed 710 comprises five stationary test and training machines, the tergumed Extension,
tergumed Flexion, tergumed Lateral flexion, tergumed Rotation and for the area of the cervical spine the tergumed
Cervical Trainer.
The load dosing and / or control for the training takes place via the weight stack, which is attached to the side or
front of the machine.
The five tergumed 710 test and training machines train the relevant muscle groups that are for the stabilisation of
the spinal column. The name of each machine refers to the movement that is performed with the appropriate
machine for the test or training (Extension, Flexion, Lateral flexion, Rotation, Cervical (-extension, -flexion, -lateral
flexion).)
In the following, the above-mentioned power training types are described, all of which are controlled with the same
software.
-Extension:
The exercise takes place in the closed system.
The torso-straightening muscles in the area of the lumbar spinal column are mainly stressed. The exercise is
performed while sitting. Fixing the lower leg is the most effective way of excluding equalising and
compensating movements.
The muscular skeletal system is stressed and trained by the stress on large muscle groups. To control the
intensity dosage, the resistance can be regulated in 1kg increments.
-Flexion:
The exercise takes place in the closed system.
The abdominal musculature is predominantly stressed in the area of the abdomen. The exercise is
performed while sitting. Fixing the lower leg excludes equalising and compensating movements.
The muscular skeletal system is stressed and trained by the stress on large muscle groups. To control the
stress the resistance can be regulated in 1kg increments.
-Rotation:
The exercise takes place in the closed system.
The abdominal rotation musculature is predominantly stressed in the area of the abdomen and the lumbar
spinal column. The exercise is performed while sitting. Fixing the lower leg and a lateral fixation of the
pelvis excludes equalising and compensating movements.
The muscular skeletal system is stressed and trained by the stress on large muscle groups. To control the
stress the resistance can be regulated in 1kg increments.
-Lateral flexion:
The exercise takes place in the closed system.
The abdominal inclination musculature is predominantly stressed in the area of the abdomen and the
lumbar spinal column. The exercise is performed while sitting. The pelvis is stabilised by a waist-tight thigh
fixation. Thus, excluding equalising and compensating movements.
The muscular skeletal system is stressed and trained by the stress on large muscle groups. To control the
stress the resistance can be regulated in 1kg increments.
-Cervical Trainer:
The exercises take place in the open system.
Depending on the exercise performed, either the cervical stretching, flexion or lateral musculature is
stressed. The exercise is performed while sitting. Fixing the upper leg can exclude equalising and
compensating movements.
The muscular skeletal system is stressed and trained by the stress on the named muscle groups. To control
the stress the resistance can be infinitely regulated.

4.2 Characterisation of the patients
The use of the tergumed 710 is intended for users from 14 to 80 years old, as long as the ergonomic requirements
are met and the necessary support is ensured. The contra-indicators listed in Chapter 3.5 must be observed. The use
is intended for both female and male users.
Using the devices is possible with a user weight of 40 - 180 kg.
The therapist should be aware of any load requirement that is imposed by the physician.
4.3 Characterisation of the use environment
The trainees perform the training in medical training centres (ambulatory rehabilitation centres, health centres, etc.)
and facilities for medical fitness.
The machines can be used at an ambient temperature of +10°C to +40°C and a relative humidity of 30% to 75%
(non-condensing) and an atmospheric pressure of 700 hPa to 1060 hPa without any problems.
When using the machine, ensure that it is level and stable. An uneven floor should never be levelled by using pieces
of wood, paper or similar material.
Children should be supervised and never left alone in the vicinity of the weight training machine.
It is also important to ensure that there are no bystanders coming into the immediate vicinity of moving parts
(weight plates / block, lever arms, adjustment possibilities).

6Modifications of products
Modifications of products are generally not permitted and may be carried out in exceptional cases only with original
parts provided by the manufacturer and by authorised and skilled personnel. The authorisation of the personnel is
only from proxomed®.
Any changes made due to modifications of the User Manual must be inserted by the operator in the User Manual.
7Combination of products
The machines of the tergumed®710 series are generally combined with the proxotrain tergumed® software module,
that allows the implementation of isometric and dynamic testing procedures and allows targeted training control.
The description of the proxotrain tergumed® software module, is in a separate User Manual for the software.
8Declaration of Conformity
The Declaration of Conformity for the tergumed®710/600 machines are sent upon request as a PDF file.
9Maintenance and care
Despite the excellent quality of the machine, you should make the following checks regularly every 4 weeks for
safety reasons:
•Check all components for ease of movement in particular those susceptible to wear and tear such as rollers,
screws and bolts and ensure proper lubrication. Here, if necessary, grease with a suitable lubricant.
•For maintaining the guide rods for the weight plates, we recommend cleaning and lubrication with a
suitable lubricant (available from proxomed®).

•Clean panels and frame parts regularly with lukewarm water and a microfibre cloth. Use no solvents,
chloride, polish, chemical cleaning products or wax polishes. Use only disinfectants approved by the
manufacturer for the disinfection of the padding.
•As far as are present, the locking pins and set screws should also be greased.
•In order for the machine to remain technically sound any parts damaged due to wear and tear should be
immediately replaced with original parts and the machine should not be used until it is repaired.
•A technical safety inspection should be performed every 12 months.
•If the machine is equipped with the isometric power option a technical measurement inspection should be
performed every 24 months.
Note:
If you do however fine some unexpected damage stop the training immediately. If there is a
problem, which you cannot easily solve then contact the proxomed® Service. The authorised
Service will provide you with quick and competent help or give you instructions on how to
do this. At the end of the Medical Product Book, you will find the form "Repair Order / Fault
Reporting". This template is to copy, fill out, and fax. Please fill out this form with the
information you have and describe the fault as accurately as you can.
10 Prepare the product for use
10.1 Transport
The machines are normally delivered completely assembled by our employees or by a freight company.
10.2 Storage
The storage location of the machine should be dry, free from seawater and dust-proof, with a storage temperature
between +5 °C to 45C. Protect the machine from bumps, scratches, and moisture. Remove any transport safety
devices only after the machine is positioned in its final location. Incorrect storage, also at the operating location
leads to the loss of the machine warranty.
10.3 Installation
The machine must be horizontal, on a flat, stable, and impact-resistant surface that can withstand the weight of the
machine as well as the maximum allowable weight of a person, altogether 180 kg. If the surface is uneven then
even-out using suitable material (e.g. high-strength plastic) to achieve a level surface. In this case, it is important to
make sure that the material used to even-out the surface cannot rust.
Avoid harsh, abrupt putting down of the machine. An important prerequisite for the proper functioning of the
machine is the orientation with a spirit level. The machine is usable when free-standing.
Avoid positioning the machine in busy areas such as near doors and passageways.
10.3.1 Protective Cover
The covers of the tergumed®machines consists of high-quality frosted glass, designed as safety glass. The training
machine only meets the legal requirements for use in training with the protective cover on.
The protective covers affixed by the manufacturer must not be removed or altered; as otherwise, the standards for
training are not met.
10.4 Before use check
Check prior to using, the proper condition of the following components:
-Flat belts for visible damage, particularly the respective end mount.
-Locking pins for correct functioning, the detent knob must engage on its own.
-Stability of the machine at the place of use.
-Undamaged protective cover.
-Fixed screw connections.
-Smooth movement guiding.
-Firm hold of the insertion pin.
-Secure locking of the pneumatic compression spring to the position settings.

Testing of electrical components and the correct functioning of the software is subject to the compulsory start-up of
the machine at the client's location.
11 Training Manual and Technical Data
11.1 Basic patient positioning
In addition to the device-specific chronological sequence for the positioning of the trainee or patient, there are
some basic guidelines for all five machine types. In any case, when working with the machine series tergumed®710
the basics for medical training therapy and bio-mechanics must be known, taken into account and implemented by
the supervising personnel.
•The positioning of the patient must always be carried out with the greatest possible care, because quality
and effectiveness of the exercise execution depend largely from a correct initial position.
•The machine axes and pivot points must be as precise as possible to the axes of movement of the trainees’
joints to be exercised to avoid any compression and shearing forces. To do this, it is necessary that all
necessary settings are set by a therapist.
•The training has always to be done in a sitting position.
•The feet are placed on the footrests or the base plate of the machines when training the lumbar spinal
column.
•The starting position can be adjusted in 10 degree increments when there is restricted mobility for the
extension, flexion, rotation and lateral flexion. The setting for the starting position for the Cervical Trainer is
done in the same way with 7.5 degree steps. The starting position is set using the locking pins on the
excenter.
•The lever arm length can be individually and smoothly adapted to the anatomical conditions of the trainees.
•The training position decided on by the therapist or trainer can be reproduced for further training, because
all adjusting devices are fitted with well visible graduations, and on each machine, the position settings are
alphabetically numbered (A, B, C, etc.) in a meaningful way.
•When using the proxotrain tergumed® software module, it is possible to capture and use the positioning
parameter using software.
•The weight should be selected so that the patient or client can perform the training without evasive
movements, even with the last repeat of a series.
•With limited spinal mobility or if pain is present, training should only be performed where possible in the
active range of movement where there is no pain.
•The execution of exercise repetitions should be slow and controlled. The therapist should make sure that
the trainee or patient retains the body tension during the whole exercise.
•The therapist must, prior and during the performance of an exercise make sure that the axis of rotation of
the machine and the trainee or patient coincide. The axis of rotation of the machine can, with the
tergumed® 710 Lateral flexion and the Cervical Trainer be aligned using a laser pointer attached directly at
the rotation point of the device, and pointed exactly on the axis of rotation of the patients or clients.
Note the following safety instructions for the use of the laser pointer:
The laser must not be directed towards the eyes!
Never look into the laser beam!
Use of the laser should be brief, as considerable exposure can lead to skin irritation.
•The laser may not be modified.
•Use only the batteries specified by the manufacturer of the laser pointer and dispose
of the used batteries according to regulations. Disposal with household waste is
prohibited!
11.2 General training recommendations
Before starting, the training program the patient or client should warm-up for example on a stationary bicycle
ergometer, followed by stretching exercises to prepare the appropriate muscles for the load.
With limited mobility or if pain is present, training should only be performed where possible in the painless range.

The range of movement must be slow and controlled, while ensuring the correct execution of the movement. The
load intensity at the start of training should be deliberately selected to be low. The load is then increase gradually,
to avoid excessive loads, which can lead to problems and pain with patients/trainees.
Different training methods can be applied depending on the training and rehabilitation phase. The training intensity
is therefore based on the carrying capacity of the injured structure, the rehabilitation phase of the patient, and the
training goals.
Here priority can be given to the adaptation and habituation of the injured structure (connective tissue, cartilage,

If discomfort occurs while training the exercise is to be stopped and a doctor is to be
consulted where necessary, as incorrect or excessive training can damage the health.
11.3 tergumed®710 Software Module
The tergumed®710 system can be combined with a software for measurement and training support. The software
module is available for all five tergumed®710 stations as an easy-to-use touch screen version. In addition, the
system includes a device-independent therapist workplace for the test evaluation and training planning.
The system supports the therapist/sports instructors by using isometric and dynamic tests in determining the deficit
in terms of the maximum force capacity and the development of training programs.
The support by the proxotrain tergumed® software module does not, however, release the therapists from the
responsibility of selecting the right intensity for the patient or client individually and to take care of the patients
during the performance of the exercise. The detailed description of the software for the tergumed®710 line is
available in the corresponding User Manual for the software.
12 General settings and optional accessories
12.1 Fine adjustment 4 x 1 kg
Correct Usage
With the fine adjustment additional loads can be selected with levels of
0 kg, 1 kg, 2 kg, 3 kg, and 4 kg.
The fine adjustment function
The fine adjustment may only be adjusted in the unloaded condition (the
weight stack has no load).
By turning the knob of the fine adjustment, this can be set to the relevant
position and then it engages. The following positions are possible.

1 1 kg
2 2 kg
3 3 kg
4 4 kg
According to the selected option, the set weight increase by the value of the fine adjustment.
12.2 Weight block
Correct Usage
The weight block on the tergumed® 710 machines is always on the side or
attached in front of the trainee, this is so that the trainee or patient can select
the weight directly from the training position. The weights should always be
selected when not loaded. Additional weights are not to be attached, if this is
not authorised by proxomed®.
It is necessary that the weight pin be always inserted to until it stops. Only
original weight pins from proxomed®are to be used!
The weight block includes a special slot below the weight stack for fixing the
lever arm. By inserting the weight pin in this slot, it is possible to implement
isometric test and training procedures. An isometric test may take place only
under supervision.

13.1 tergumed®710 Extension, item 10350100
Correct Usage
With this machine, the back extensors are trained. The training takes
place usually in a closed system, i.e. the soles of the feet are in
contact with a footrest, while the knee is fixed from the front. This
allows an optimal stabilisation of the pelvis during the exercise. The
following injuries can be treated and others on this machine after
consulting with the doctor and therapists: Any injuries of the spinal
column such as spinal disc prolapse or intervertebral disc protrusion,
fracture of vertebrae, degenerative spinal disorders such as scoliosis
or ankylosing spondylitis (Morbus Bechterew). Of course, the
machine can also be used for a general strengthening of the torso
and for the prevention of spinal complaints.
Specific positioning of the person training
The seat height is adjusted via the pressure switch on the right side of the seat, this is
either pneumatic or via the optional electric seat height adjustment. The simplest
approach, if only the pneumatic seat height adjustment is available, is to bring the seat
to the highest position before sitting down. Seat height is then set such that the
rotation axis of the machine coincides with the rotation axis of the patient. A possible
axis of rotation for the training of the back-extension movement is on the transition
from the third to the fourth lumbar vertebrae.
The correct positioning of the seat height can be checked on the laser pointer, which
is located at the rotation point of the machine.
The height of the lordosis padding of the machine can be adjusted by releasing the
fulcrum pin, moving to the appropriate height and fixing again.
The optional seat tilt adjustment is located on the left side of the seat.
The adjustment of the footrest should be selected so that the thighs are in extension
of the seat. The adjustment is made mechanically from the sitting position by
activating the toggle switch attached to the footrest. The graduations for the seat
height and the foot rests are located in an inlet in the bottom of the training machine

to comfortable read the position form the sitting position.
The ventral knee fixation padding can be adjusted in height by releasing the
corresponding fulcrum pin. The height should be selected so that the top edge of the
padding is aligned at the tibial tuberosity so that there is no pressure on the
patella. The knee padding can then be released via the pressure switch and pulled to
the knee. After that the fixing unit can be locked again by releasing the pressure
switch, to achieve an optimum stabilisation. The lever arm length can be continuously
adapted after releasing the handle attached to the lifting arm.
The starting position (in flexion) for the extension movement can be set in 10° steps
after releasing the locking pin on the excenter. The weight load can be set via the pin
on the weight block.

the starting position is in an inlet in the bottom of the training machine. This allows
the patient or trainee to read the position form the sitting position. The starting
position can be adjusted easily using the actuator above the upper torso fixation on
the right. The adjustment attached to the upper torso fixation on the left allows you to
push the fixation on the upper torso, to obtain an optimal force transmission to the
weight stack. The weight load can be set via the pin on the weight block.

Correct Usage
With this machine, the lateral trunk muscles are trained. The pelvis is
secured via a pelvic fixation. The feet are placed on the machine floor
in approximately 90 degrees of rotation to the knee and fixed above
the hip displacement padding from the front near the pelvis. The
thigh cushion padding is used for additional active stabilisation. This
allows an optimal stabilisation of the pelvis during the exercise. The
following injuries can be treated and others on this machine after
consulting with the doctor and therapists: Any injuries of the spinal
column such as spinal disc prolapse or intervertebral disc protrusion,
fracture of vertebrae, degenerative spinal disorders such as scoliosis or
ankylosing spondylitis (Morbus Bechterew). Of course, the machine
can also be used for a general strengthening of the torso and for the
prevention of spinal complaints.

The height of the underarm padding can be adjusted by activating the pressure switch
attached to the right side of the upper torso fixation corresponding to the length of
the upper torso.
The underarm padding can then be pressed against the upper torso fixation by
actuating the wheels attached to both sides of the upper body in order to stabilise
these. The starting position for the corresponding movement can be set in 10° steps
after releasing the locking pin on the excenter. The weight load can be set via the pin
on the weight block.

General Information
With this machine, the dorsal, ventral and the lateral cervical muscles are trained. The implementation of the initial
test or a training session on the tergumed®Cervical Trainer should always take place with the positioning in the
extension movement and the other directions of movement based on these settings. It should be noted that only
the therapist should position the patient.
A stand-alone training, as is possible on the other machines of the tergumed®line, should not
be allowed with the Cervical Trainer. Also, the constant monitoring of the correct range of
movement is obligatory.
If the proxotrain tergumed software module is used, the machine features a swivelling touch screen PC which can
be positioned depending on the movement.
13.5.1 tergumed®710 Cervical Extension
Correct Usage
The cervical extensor muscles are trained by using this machine. The
stabilisation of the torso is via the dorsal and ventral stabilisation
padding. Following injuries can be treated after consultation with a
physician . Intervertebral disc protrusion, spinal disc prolapse and
degenerative spinal disorders.
Of course, the machine can also be used for a general strengthening
of the torso with unspecified discomfort and for the prevention of
cervical spinal discomfort.
Note the described contra-indicators for training on this machine!
Specific positioning of the person training
The rotatable seat of the machine is located above the pressure switch on the
underside of the seat in the upper position and positioned with the knee support
padding so that the trainee or patient can sit with the back of his/her head to the
padding. The patient can now get on the seat. The setting of the knee support
padding to the length of the thigh is by using the rotary wheel on the front of the
seat.
Seat height is then set such that the rotation axis of the machine coincides with the
rotation axis of the patient.
A possible axis of rotation for the training of the cervical extension movement is
situated above C7/Th1. The correct positioning of the seat height should be checked
on the laser pointer, which is located at the rotation point of the machine.
Adjust the height of the upper body padding individually so that the trainee or patient
can be fixed in position from both the front and from the rear and may not move out
of the correct plane of rotation. For the separate settings of both the horizontal
fixation padding (dorsal and ventral), the analogous lateral rotary wheels can be used.
