SaveThese Instructions.

Congratulations on Selecting
PuriLens
®
The PuriLens
®
System represents the most convenient
and advanced technology for contact lens care.
The PuriLens
®
System is indicated for cleaning and disinfec-
tion of soft (hydrophilic) contact lenses by means of subsonic
agitation to remove lens deposits and microorganisms, and
ultraviolet irradiation of the storage solution for disinfection.
Lenses may be stored in the disinfection solution for a period
of 24 hours following the cleaning and disinfection cycle.
PuriLens
®
is a complete cleaning and disinfecting contact
lens care system clinically tested for use with preservative-
free PuriLens
®
Solution. It cleans and disinfects lenses
without use of heat, chemicals, surfactants, catalytic discs,
or enzymatic tablets.
The PuriLens
®
System uses germicidal light to disinfect your
lenses and subsonic solution turbulence to remove debris
from the lens surface. The ease of use and convenience of
the PuriLens
®
System will assure you care for your contact
lenses properly. Proper lens care is one of the
most important factors in maintaining wearing comfort and
eliminating eye irritation and other potential complications
associated with contact lens wear.
3

1. Wash your hands thoroughly. Remove the
top cover. Remove the clear cleaning
chamber from the base, and remove the
lens holder.
2. Remove your left lens and rinse it with a
steady stream of PuriLens®Solution for 10
seconds. Place your left lens in the center
of the raised dome on the side marked “L”.
Close the WHITE lid. Repeat the same steps
for your right lens and close the BLUE lid.
3. Hold lens holder by top of the “T” and
place into a pair of slots in the top of the
cleaning chamber. Fill with PuriLens®
Solution to cover the top of the lens basket,
and even with the fill line.
PuriLens®Operating Instructions
The PuriLens®unit may be set up in any convenient location and
remain plugged in between uses. Be careful not to allow the unit
to remain on a wet surface. Prior to first use, you must run the unit
without your lenses in it. This will thoroughly clean the PuriLens®
unit prior to the first time operation with lenses. The travel cap
should always be removed from the cleaning chamber during the
cleaning/disinfecting cycle.
4

6. Place the upper part of the unit onto the
bottom part. This will automtically start
the cleaning and disinfecting cycle.
DO NOT OPERATE THE UNIT WITH THE
CLEAR LID ON THE CLEANING CHAMBER.
7. The indicator light will go on and remain
on until the device shuts off automatically
after 15 minutes when cycle is complete.
Note: Your lenses will remain disinfected
for up to 24 hours after the cycle is com-
plete provided the chamber is not opened.
Wash hands thoroughly.

5. Connect transformer cord into adapter and
plug transformer into wall outlet.
Note: Unit may remain plugged
in when not in use.
4. Locate the recessed ridge inside the
base. Line up the ridge on the chamber
(near the blue agitator) with the front of
the unit. Slowly rotate the chamber until
it drops into the base. DO NOT FORCE
THE CHAMBER INTO THE BASE.
OFFON

Reinserting the Lenses Wash hands thoroughly.
1. Remove the upper part of the unit and
remove the lens holder.
2. Open the lens holder and remove one
of the lenses by simply touching the lens
with your finger tip. Insert the lens, and
repeat these steps for the second lens.
3. Discard the used solution from the
cleaning chamber. NEVER REUSE
SOLUTION. It will not remain sterile and
can breed harmful organisms. Leave the
upper part of the unit off to allow all parts
to air dry, including condensation on the bulb.
4. The cleaning chamber with clear travel
lid is portable, and may be carried with
you to store your lenses should they
need removal while away from home.
Lenses must be disinfected prior to re-
insertion in your eyes.

Important Information
Since the PuriLens®System
disinfects your lenses with
germicidal light, it is normal
for the unit to warm up slightly
during operation and to
generate a glow around the
upper part of the unit.
To insure the completion of the
cleaning/disinfection process,
do not interrupt the cycle.
Reactivating of the unit occurs
when the top is removed and
replaced. This will restart the
cycle from the beginning.
Should the indicator light not
turn on, please refer to the
troubleshooting section in this
booklet.
Upon completion of the cycle,
the lenses may remain in the
cleaning chamber for up to 24
hours provided chamber is not
opened.
To avoid potential damage to
your lenses or your eyes, please
follow these important
instructions:
DO NOT OPERATE UNIT WITH
CLEAR TRAVEL LID ON THE
CLEANING CHAMBER.
DO NOT RE-USE SOLUTION.
DO NOT USE TAP WATER.
DO NOT USE SOLUTIONS
WHICH ARE NOT APPROVED
FOR THE PURILENS®UNIT.
Insert the lens holder first. Then
fill the chamber with solution.
DO NOT UNDER-FILL OR
OVER-FILL THE CLEANING
CHAMBER.
DO NOT OPERATE THE DEVICE
ON A WET SURFACE.
Should any solution drip from the
device, remove the top, and wipe
the excess solution and restart.
Always use fresh PuriLens®
Solu-
tion in your PuriLens®
unit.
7

The cleaning chamber of the unit
should be cleaned once a week
to remove accumulated deposits.
Clean any accumulated debris
using a cotton swab dampened
with PuriLens®Solution.
The germicidal lamp in the top of
the unit should be kept clean and
free of debris. Should debris
accumulate on either the lamp or
the upper housing, remove with
a cotton swab or a soft cloth
dampened with PuriLens®
Solution.
Some contact lens wearers may
experience a heavier deposit
build up on their lenses.
Symptoms of this problem
include lens irritation and/or
reduced wearing comfort. In
such cases your lenses should

be rubbed manually and rinsed
with PuriLens®Solution once a
week prior to your routine use of
the PuriLens®System. Consult
your eye care practitioner for
additional information or
recommendations.
Discoloration of the inside of the
unit and top of the lens basket is
a normal reaction to the
germicidal light and cannot be
cleaned. No maintenance is
required for the blue agitator at
the bottom of the cleaning
chamber or the lens holder.

1. Remove the cleaning chamber
and clean thoroughly.
2. Place the cleaning chamber in
base and follow instructions
for use.
3. Verify that the agitator is
working properly by placing
the top on the unit and feeling
for a slight vibration in the
lower chamber.
9
Troubleshooting
4. Make sure you use fresh
PuriLens
®
Solution daily.
No other solution has been
clinically tested for cleaning
with the PuriLens
®
System.
5. For optimum results, clean
and disinfect daily with the
PuriLens
®
System.
6. If problems persist, consult
your eye care professional.
Problem: Lenses are not getting clean. Follow these steps:
1. Check the cord for proper
connection with the
transformer.
2. Check if the power
transformer is plugged into
the wall outlet.
Problem: Indicator light is not working. Follow these steps:
3. Check that the top part of
the unit is properly seated
in and aligned with the
bottom part.
4. Check that the germicidal
lamp filament is not broken.
CAUTION: It is possible that the UV bulb in your PuriLens
®
System
unit could burn out, or the subsonic agitator could malfunction.
Should the UV bulb fail, the indicator light on the front of the unit
will not come on when the top portion of the unit is engaged. Do
not use your PuriLens
®
unit if you fail to see a glow in the upper
chamber, or if you fail to feel a slight vibration in the upper chamber
after the top is placed on the unit. Call PuriLens
®
if this occurs.
