1.INTRODUCTION
Thissystemprovidestotalvideo securitysolution for4-channeldigitalsurveillancesystem
supportingduplex(simultaneousplayback andrecord)functionality.
Eithermouseorremotecontrolunit can operateall DVRmenu setting.

VIDEO OUTPUT
Usethisport toconnect DVRtothemonitor. Thereisone video output.
②VIDEO INPUT
UsethisBNC port toconnect camerastoDVRsystem. You might need BNC adapterfor
each(CH1-CH4)cameraconnection.
③AUDIO INPUT
Use AUDIO IN”portformicrophone connection. Ifsignalaudioinput isfromchannel1,
therewill beaudiooutput inchannel1viewand quad view. Ifsignalaudioinput isfrom
channel2、channel3orchannel4,therewon’tbeaudiooutputuntil inchannel2、channel3
orchannel4.

Use AUDIO OUT”port forspeaker(mono)connecting. And thisport isaudiooutput for
playback.
⑤AC-DCPOWERADAPTERJACK
Connect the poweradapterintoDVRand plugthe powercableintothe wall. SomeDVR
modelsdo nothaveapoweradaptersoyoumaynotseethis. Incase,justplugpowercable
fromthe behind the DVRintothe wall. Belowisthe information ofinput/output voltagefor
the poweradapter.

sametimeinquad screen.

Press REC”button tostart manualrecording. Then youwillsee this
mark ‘●’on theselectedchannelofthe screen,whichmeansthatthe
channelisnowrecording.
Tostopmanualrecording, press REC”againduring recordingmode.
Alsousercan press REC”button toreducevalue when adjust parameters.
③■STOP
Tostopplayback, press the STOP”button.
④►PLAY
Afterrecording, press PLAY”button tostart video playback.
Playback willstartwiththe oldestunreadvideo dataand then continueplaying.

Thisisthe fast forwardbutton.Toplaytherecorded streamfaster, press the FWD”button.
Therearethreelevelsoffast forwardplayback speed.
(a)FF 1(): Playtwotimesfaster(x2)than the normalplay.

Thisisthe rewind button.Toplaythe recordedstreambackward, press the REW”button.
[NOTE]: Thefast forwardand reverseplayback speedswill varydependingon the frame
rateandrecordqualitysettings, aswell asthe numberofchannelsrecorded.

Topausethe video playback, press the PAUSE”button.Then the video displayingwillbe
stopped.
Tocontinueplayback, pushthe PLAY”button.

It displaysmenu option orgoback totheprevious.

Tochangeamenu field, usethe UP”or DOWN”buttons.

Usethisbutton tochangevaluesonmainmenu orsubmenu setting. Press thisbuttonto
increasevalue.
3.GETTING STARTED
Install aharddisk driveintoyourDVR.
Connect DVRtomonitor.
Connect cameras(upto4)toDVR.
Connect otherperipheraldevices(mouse, USB Drive)ifnecessary.
Plugthe powercordintothe powerjack on the wall.
Connect the poweradapterintoDVRtoturnon theDVR.
Start TVMonitoringand Recording.
¨Makesurethataharddisk driveand camera(s)areproperlyinstalled.
¨Theharddisk (IDEHDD)jumpersettingmustbeset to master jumpersetting.
¨Afterinstallation ofharddrive, the harddrivedrawermustbelocked withkey.
¨Ifthe poweristurned off whilerecording(i.e. apowerfailure), the DVRwill enter
PowerRecovery”modesat start up, detect that it hasbeen shutdown, andthen

reinitiatethe recordingprocess.

(A)Make surethatHDD Jumpersetting as Master”
Beforeinstallingharddrive, set jumperas Master”.
Themasterjumpersettingvariesdependingon the hard
drivemanufactures.
Refertomanufacture’smanualformasterjumpersetting.
Forexample, the modelofHDD isSeagate.

Connect VIDEO IN”ofthe monitorto VIDEO OUT”ofthe DVRsystem.
4.3CameraConnection
Connect between VIDEO IN”ofyourDVRand VIDEO OUT”ofcamerawithvideo cable
and pluginthe camera’spoweradapter.
4.4Mouse Connection
Connect PS/2mousewiththe port belowon the DVR.
4.5DVRPowerConnection
Connect aDVRpoweradaptertothe adapterjack atthe rearpanelofDVRunit.
It will boot upthe system.
Ifusersinstall anewharddisk drive, itwill ask forHDD formattingbeforeasystemstartsto
run (BelowFig).Chooseformat option pressing PLAY”button.

5. SETUP
Afterinstallinganewharddriveonthe
system, userhadbettertoformat the hard
drivefirst. And therearethreepassword
levelsinthe system,including admin
(highest), operator,and guest (lowest).Iftheuserdoes notloginthesystem,hecan
onlyviewlivevideodisplay.And whentheuserloginthesystem,ifhecan’toperate
thesysteminthirtysecondsthesystemwill belockedautomatically.
The systemallowsuptofouruseraccounts.The administratorcan setupthe loginname,
passwordand levelforeachuser.(PleaserefertoSection 5.6.2 forAccountSetup.)
The admin can operateeverything,and the operator can operateeverythingexcept
examininguseraccountsandmodifyingitspasswordlevel,and the guest canoperatelive
video display, and imageplayback.
Aftersystemboot-up,holdaright mouseclickbutton and therewillbeloginwindow.Holda
leftmouseclick button toclick theorderof Account”,andinputcorrectaccount. Then left
click the orderof Password”and inputcorrectpassword.Atlastleftclick Login”toenter
system.Thereisone factory-presetlogin account/password”admin/111111”at admin
level.The usercan useit tologinthe systemforthe first time.
Afterloginthe system,holdarightmouseclick button and therewill beapieceofsuggestive

windowoptionson the monitor(Fig(a)).Holdaleft mouseclickbutton toclick the icon ”.
Orpress the MENU button tomakeanychangesofDVRsettings. Youwillsee the screen
belowon the monitor(Fig(b)).

SELECT”button on the remotecontrolinordertochangethesettings. Inthe MAINMENU,
the cursor ”willbeshownon thescreen right next toeachsubmenu. Togoback tothe
previous, press MENU”button on the remotecontrol.
TheMouse Control
Movethe mouseupordowntomovethe cursor. Holdaleft mouseclick button tochange
the settings. Click arightmousetogoback totheprevious.

5.1CAMERA
Usethisoption forvideo coloradjustment foreachchannel(1,2,3,4). GotoDISPLAYoption
toenableordisableforscreen displayofeachcamera. Modifycameranameofeach
channelthatuserwantsto.
5.2RECORD
Usethisoption tochoosethe channel
(1,2,3,4)forrecording. Onlyselected
channelwill berecorded no matterhow
manycamerachannelsaredisplayedon
the screen.
A:[RECORD FRAMERATE]
Changethe recordframerateforeach
channel. The highertherecordframe
rate,themorenaturalmovementyouwill
see whileplayback.
Independenteachchannelframerate
adjustment ispossible.
Press button 【ENTER】orholdaleft
mouseclickbutton toclick icon ►” to
increasethe recordframerateforeachchannel. Press button 【REC】orholdaleftmouse
click button toclick icon ◄” todecreasethe recordframerateforeachchannel.

B:[RECORDQUALITY]
ChooserecordqualityamongNormal/ Low/ High. The highertherecordqualityis, the
higherthe video imagequalityiswellyou playback. Higherqualitycost moreharddisk
space. recordqualityand harddisk spacewill affect totalrecordtimeofDVRsystem.
C:[RECORDSCHEDULE]
Notice: Tostart motion record, makesurethe periodthatyouintend torecordis ” inthe
recordschedule”menu.
Press 「Up」or 「Down」ormovethe mousetomovethe prompt,and press「SEL」orhold
aleft mousebutton toadjustvideo recordmethod duringeachtimeperiod.Alsousercan
adjust the samerecordmethod duringthe wholetimeperiodssynchronously, press [QUAD]
button inthe DVRremotecontrol,orholdaleft mousebutton toclick the timeperiod
(24:00:00).
- Grey bar: Norecordwillbemade for
thistimeperiod ifusercan’t activate
manualrecording.
- Redbar: Thetimeperiod withared bar
will activatecontinuousrecordingmode
(Timerecord)unless thereisanymanual
stoppingduringrecordingduringthat
time.
- Greenbar: Thetimeperiod withagreen bar forbuilt-inmotion recording(MD). (See also

5.3ALARM
UsingSELECTbutton orholdaleftmousebutton toclick icon ◄” / ►”, adjust parameters
ofeachoption.

MD&sensorrecordingisactivated.

D:[MOTIONDETECTION]

Select thechannel(1,2,3,4)forrecording
mode byinternalmotion.
[SENSITIVITY]
It adjuststhe sensitivityofthe built-in
motion sensoron theDVRsystemwhile
recording. The higherthe number, the
higherthe sensitivityis. Value at 1、2、3、4、Off”.Themaximumsensitivitylevelis4.
[MOTIONAREA]
Usethisoption toselecttherangeofmotion detectionarea.

Bythe way, theareaonlycanbeselectedfromuptodownand fromleft toright. When the
block iscovered byblue shadow, it’sactivetorecord.When the block istransparent, it can’t
berecorded.
Aftercompletedthemotionarea setting, press MENU”button orholdarightmouse
click button toexit.
TostartMotionRecord, usermustcompletethe Motion area”setup.
5.4SCREEN

Inthismenu,you canseethe information ofthe harddisk driveinstalled onthesystem,
changethesystempassword,adjustkeypad tone,browsereventlistoradjustcurrenttime
on thesystem.
If userloginthe systemat admin level,the menu barwillbedisplayed as Fig(c).The user
can enterintothe orderof Account”toexamine all useraccounts,addordeleteuserthat

5.6.1HARD DISKSETUP
[OVERWRITEENABLED]
Ifyou chooseYES, recordingcontinues
and overwritespreviousrecordingwhen
harddisk drivespaceisfull. Ifyou choose
NO, the recordingstopswhen the hard
disk drivespaceisfull.
[FORMATHDD]
Ifyou format the harddisk drive, all the video datastored onthe harddisk drivewill be
deleted. Remind that thesystemhasno restoreoption oncetheharddriveisformatted.
When you choosethisoption, it will ask forpasswordbeforeformatting. The default
passwordis 111111”. Typethepasswordand pressanykeybutton.
When HDDissuccessfullyformatted, youwill see the messagebelowblinking.
Ifthe passwordisincorrect, you will see the belowmessageblinking. Then trytotyperight
passwordagain.

Onlyuserloginthe systematadmin
level,the AccountSetupallowsthe
administratortoadd newusers,delete
existingones,andmodifythe user’s
name/password/and level.The system

numbers,lettersand signinthe pane can beusedaspassword.Press「SEL」toinputvalue,
and movethe prompt tothe option of ENTER”, press 「SEL」toinput current password.

EVENTLISTfunction enables
playback byevent. Onthe EventList
menu,itshowsallpastrecorded
video，starttimeand end timeofeach
recorded video,and etcshowing
recordingyear/date/timeinlist. The
HDD can bestored 300piecesofevent
initatmost. Iftheeventsareover300pieces,usercan playpreviouseventaccordingto
input timeperiod ifthe datahasn’t beenover-written.
Toplayback byEVENLIST,using[UP]/[DOWN]orchannelnumber(CH1forPageUpor
CH2forPageDown)keyon the remotecontrol,selectthe eventthatyouwanttoplayback
andpress PLAY”button.Anotherwaymovethe mouseupanddownorclick theleftmouse
button ( ◄” forPageUpor ►” forPageDown),selectthe eventthatyou wanttoplayback
and doubleclick the left mousebutton. Thenit willsplayback the recordingvideo data.
5.6.7F/WUPGRADE
Thismenu isforfirmwareupgrade ofDVRsystemthroughUSB host (USB memorystick)
connection,youcan simplyupgrade the systemonceyou connectthe USBmemorystick
that containsafirmwarefile.
[CAUTION]: 1. Donot turnoff the systemwhilethe systemisupgrading. Otherwise, itwill
causethebreakdownofthe systemthat needsaspecialrecoveryprocess.
2. Ifyoudon’t install aHDD inthe DVR, thesystemcan’t beupgrade.
3. Beforethesystemisupgrade, youmust stoprecording.
5.6.8USBTEST
Thisoption istestingpurposeonly. Userscan check the compatibilityofthe USB memory
stick forbackup.

5.7LANGUAGE
Oursystemsupportsmulti-languageOSD. YoucanchooseeitherChineseorEnglishfor
displaymenu on thescreen.You canchangeit bypushing SELECT”button on the remote
control, andalsocanholdtheleft mousebutton toclick icon ◄” ”►”on LANGUAGE”.
5.8LOGOUT
Usercan usethisoption tologoutthesystem.
5.9EXIT
Afteryou changesettingon DVRmenu, you needtoconfirmthe changesunderEXITmenu.
