-Locationswithpoor ventilationexposedtodustanddirt.
- Locationswhich areunstableandnot perfectlyflat orwhichare
susceptibletovibration.
Donot wipewiththinners
Wipethe panelsandcasefromtimetotimewithasoftcloth.
Usinganykind ofthinner,alcoholorvolatileliquidwillmarthe
surface,causeblotching onthe exterioranderase the markings
andshouldthereforebe avoided.
Donot use insecticidespraysinthevicinity.
Thisunitdissipatesthe heat mosteffectivelywheninstalledon
aflatsurface. Donot standit upor install it atanangle.
Beforeconnectingthepowerplug
Beforeconnecting thepowerplug toanelectricaloutlet,checkto
besurethatthe unitissettothepowervoltage foryourarea.If
the voltageoftheunit isimproperlyset,firehazardordamage to
the unit mayresult.If youfindthat theunitisnot settotheproper
voltage foryourareafollowtheinstructionslistedbelow.
- Unitwithoutvoltage selectorsswitch.
-Unit destined forsomeareasarenotfittedwithavoltage
selectorswitchduetolawsandregulationsexistinginthose
areas.Insuch acase,the powersupplyvoltageissettothe
voltage usedinthe area wherethe unitispurchased.

Connectionprecautions
When connecting,eitherdisconnectthepowerplugfromthe
poweroutletorturnoff theunit’spowerusingthePOWER switch.
Checktheleft andrightchannelsandconnectproperly(LefttoL
and RighttoR).
Inserttheplugssecurely.Improperconnection canlead tothe
generationof noise.
Turntable
Connecttheturntable’soutputcordL(white)plugtotheL
PHONOterminalandthe R(red)plug totheRterminal.
Ifyourturntableisequippedwithagroundingcable, connect itto
theunit’sGNDterminal.Butdisconnectit ifyounotice increased
hum.
-Ifyouusethe turntablealongside the unit, humandnoise
pickupmaysometimes.Insuchacase,installtheturntableata
position wherehumand noisearenot pickedup.
Compactdisc player
ConnecttheCDterminalstotheOUTPUTterminalsonthe
compactdiscplayer usingthepin-plugcord.
Tuner
ConnecttheTUNERterminalstotheOUTPUTterminalson the
tunerusingthepin-plugcord.
DVDTerminal
ConnecttheDVD terminalstotheOUTPUTterminalsontheDVD
playerusing the pin-plug cord.
TAPEDeck
Recording connections:ConnecttheTAPERECterminalsto
theinput(LINE IN)terminalsonthe tape deck usingthe pin-plug
cord.
Playbackconnections:Connectthe TAPEPLAYterminalsto
theoutput(LINE OUT)terminalsonthecassettedeck usingthe
pin-plug cord.
EqualizerTerminals
These terminalsareusedtoconnectagraphicequalizerorsound
processor.TheyalsocomeinhandyforconnectinganAV
(audio/video) selectorunit.
Use pin-plug cordstoconnecttheRECterminalstotheINPUT
terminalson theselected componentandalsotoconnectthe
PLAY terminalstoitsOUTPUTterminals.
Speakersystems
ConnectthespeakersystemstotheSPEAKERSterminalson the
rear panelofthe unitwiththe speaker cords. Twosetsof speaker
systemscan be connected,one tofront(Main)speakersand one
torearspeakers(Surround)inordertoachievethesurround
sound effect.
When viewedfromthe front(thelisteningposition), the speaker
mountedonthe leftshouldbeconnectedtotheLterminals,and
thespeakermountedontherightshouldbeconnectedtotheR
terminals.Besuretoconnectthepolaritiesofthespeaker
systemsandtheSPEAKERterminalscorrectly(+to+,-to-).If
thepolarityofoneofthe speakersystemsisconnected
improperly,soundinthe centralareabetweenthespeakerswill
appear tobemissing,and thepositionof the instrumentswillnot
be clear,resultinginaloss ofstereo directionality;sotakecare
whenconnecting.
When connecting,donotallowtheconductorofthespeaker
cordstobe exposedfromtheterminalsandcomeintocontact
withotherterminals.

Loading batteries
Insertthe twoaccessory1.5Vbatteries,type AA”(IEC R6),into
the batterycompartmentinthe back of theremotecontroller.
Pressthe groovesonthebatterycompartmentlidand slideitoff.
Insertthe twobatteries,taking caretomatchthe +,-polarities
correctlywiththe diagraminthecase.
Replacethe compartmentlid.
AbouttheRemoteController
Theremotecontrollercanbeusedtocontrolcomponentfrom
yourlisteningposition.Take specialnoteof thefollowing points:
Whenoperatingtheremotecontrol, pointitinthedirectionofthe
infraredsignalreceivingwindowonthe player.
Theoperatingrangeoftheremotecontrolleriswithin30˚toeach
sideofthe front oftheplayer, withinadistance ofabout6m(about
20 feet) on anuninterruptedstraightline(theremotecontroller
will not operateiffurnitureorother obstaclesaredirectlybetween
the remotecontrollerand theplayer).Notethatinareas struckby
directsunlightorbrightspotlights,theoperatingrangeofthe
remotecontrol maybeshortened, or it mayfailtooperateat all.
Pressoperatingswitches separatelyandfirmly.
ReplacingBatteries
Whenbatteriesbecomeweak,thesignaltransmitting
performance drops,andtheremotecontrollerwill become
unusable. Inthiscase,replace the oldbatterieswithnewones.

headphonesfor privatelistening.
Adjustthevolumesothatitdoes nothurtyourearswhenusing
theheadphones.
- If youdonotintendtouseyourheadphones,alwaysensurethat
youunplugthem.
