LOCATION
Fixture should be ceiling mounted. Fixture should not be recessed.
IMPORTANT
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING FIXTURE. RETAIN INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
RAB Vandalproof fixtures must be wired in accordance
with
the National Electrical Code and applicable local codes.
Proper grounding is required for safety.
RAB Vandalproof fixtures should not be used in areas with
limited ventilation or high ambient temperatures. Installation
should be done by a qualified electrician.
WARNING: Make certain power is OFF before installing or maintaining fixture.
MOUNTING
Junction Box Mounting:
1. Remove refractor and reflector from fixture.
2. Remove close-up plug in back (see mounting note
below).
3.
Connect fixture leads to supply leads with wire nuts
.
4. Install reflector, install lamp and replace refractor.
MOUNTING NOTE: It is recommended that fixture be
attached securely by drilling through knockouts in back of
fixture and attaching to mounting surface (hardware not
supplied).
Conduit Mounting:
1. Remove refractor and reflector from fixture.
2. Remove close up plug(s) in housing for desired conduit
entrance (see mounting note below)
3.
Connect fixture leads to supply leads with wire nuts.
4. Install socket mounting plate, install lamp and replace
refractor.
TAMPERPROOF SCREWS
RAB Vandalproof fixtures are shipped with both standard
screws and tamperproof screws.
For maximum security, insert tamperproof screws into the
refractor and tighten with Center Pin Torx screwdriver (catalog
#Vandriver, not supplied).
When drilling fixture, care must be taken to avoid drilling close to ballast or within 1/4" of sides of fixture. All unused entries
must be plugged. Use weatherproof silicone sealant to insure proper seal.

Check that:
1. Proper lamp is installed. Lamp is not faulty.
2. Line voltage at the fixture is proper.
3. Fixture is wired properly.
4. Fixture is grounded properly.
TROUBLESHOOTING CHECKLIST
CLEANING
CAUTION:Be sure fixture temperature is cool enough to
touch. Be sure power is off.
Clean reflector and refractor with a cloth moistened with
non abrasive glass cleaning solution.
RE-LAMPING
CAUTION: Prior to installing, check that the lamp is of proper type and wattage. Observe lamp manufacturer’s recom-
mendations on lamp operation, ballast type and burning positions. Disconnect power.
Make sure fixture and lamp are cool
enough to touch.
1. Loosen screws holding refractor.
2. Remove refractor and replace lamp.
3. Close refractor and tighten screws.
WIRING
Use supply wire rated for 90°C.
Make sure the supply voltage is com
patible with the unit. Multi tap
units may be used with
a choice of 120v, 208v, 240v and 277v,
provided that proper ballast leads are connected in the field. Units
built for a specific voltage are factory-wired for the requested voltage.
1. If other than 120V, connect the appropriate ballast
lead to the black supply lead. Cap the 120v lead.
2. Connect the common ballast lead to white
supply lead.
PHOTOEYE INSTALLATION
A photoeye control may be installed in the field.
1. Remove reflector and refractor.
2. Remove close-up plug on desired side of fixture.
3. Install Photoeye and wire as per diagram.
